Scraping Reddit directly is against their Terms of Service afaik, and our rules on this server disallow helping with anything that preaks terms of service. But using and asking for help with the API is allowed, and is also probably much easier!

Using their API is all and well, they can control what you can and cannot access so there are no legal issues to consider

There is also systems safety which more deals with engineering ethics.
