if you want to get hardcore you can even double lock your cuffs. that would require either picking them or some serious brute force effort.

the double lock prevents the mechanism going in, so you can't use the shim method
you either have to pick that mechanism with something through the keyhole
but, it's a springloaded mechanism
so if you can smash your hands + handcuffs hard enough on a surface, you can break that springloaded lock
i've done that once an it hurt like a bitch.
