So I wasn't getting ready to toss my 5 year old Windows 10 laptop because it was painfully slow and I accidentally borked the keyboard by spilling water on it, have to use an external keyboard now

I decided I'd just install Lubuntu on it for fun to see if it would fix any of the performance issues

And holy cow, I am impressed, this thing works like it's new! I can't believe Windows 10 runs like such crap

I have honestly reconsidered tossing this laptop and getting a new one

And all the drivers installed properly too

I've downloaded steam and I'm gonna check out how well a game plays on this and if it plays well Imma be a linux convert for life, instead of the "just staying visitor" i've been over the years

I didn't tinker with anything much, I think the reason why I liked the distro so much was that everything just worked nicely after installation and I was just so happy after the horrible experience of trying to do anything in Windows on this computer

The comment one is a bit of a double edged sword

If some operation has a side effect, or is doing something fairly complicated or domain-specific, you want to document that so whatever developer has to modify that area of the code years down the line doesn't have to track you down to figure out what it's doing, or worse think it's fine to delete.
