you were likly trying to access a directory that the system depends on and has the SYSTEM user as the owner.

#

When you changed the owner to Administrators, you've given yourself and anyone in the user group ownership over it, but keep in mind if it's something that a service relies on, it's possible it may refuse to start on system launch if it recognises SYSTEM isn't the full owner of the directory
