you can get permissions by doing the voice verification outlined in #voice-verification
my advice will be don't skip the math if you want to do ML otherwise you are going to be quite confused

am i right if i say that an HTTP server abstracts TCP IP stuff ( transport layer ) to application layer

Hello.
Really
Why don't people like python for making games?
May be they consider making games wast of time and resources
There is more to it
Game dev aint a joke
Hello Everyone
I know
Hi
Hi
Really
And it works in a console rite.
Hey @whole bear!
It looks like you tried to attach file type(s) that we do not allow (.bat). We currently allow the following file types: .3gp, .3g2, .avi, .bmp, .gif, .h264, .jpg, .jpeg, .mkv, .mov, .mp4, .mpeg, .mpg, .png, .tiff, .wmv, .psd, .ai, .aep, .xcf, .mp3, .wav, .ogg, .webm, .webp, .flac, .afdesign, .m4a, .csv.
Feel free to ask in #community-meta if you think this is a mistake.
Send it through my DM

Which they don't, anyway.
Well
Ok
Yea
That is good as a beginner but that's a console game. Use PyGame or Ursina π
I still have doubt.
Bruh what's the doubt about
You can make games with python but I wanna know why people say it's not good for games
@turbid crescent All things being equal, the execution time in python tends to be slower than compiled languages like c.
Hey
Sorry for falling out of touch with you there. I was sort of immersed in my own train of thought. I, and others, would probably find it easier to see a text representation of your issue.

Anyone got an idea for a formula that generates reversable numbers that are the same as their un-reserved version?
un-reversed?
But im trying to get it in a sequence
Like 0,1 2 3456789
11 22 33 44..99
101 111 121 131 .. 191
202 . 292
And lets say I want the nTh number
i don't understand
example 20, it returns 101
run a loop, with a number incrementing, and in the body of loop, check whether the number is palindrome, if it is, print it, if it's not, you can just move along

I just needed to put a colon and a == for comparison
slightly more complicated for me though.
I'll stick to this-
I need to figure out where to put the input

How would you guys go abt creating a script where it deletes an entire dictionary if one of the values in the dictionary is the same as another dictionary?
dict 1 = {a: 1, b: 2}
dict 2 = {a: 2, b: 2}
dict 3 = {a: 3, b: 3}
I only want one of dict 1 or 2 not both since the value for "b" is the same
I can't wait to listen to your contribution on python.

but i can't share the screen here

Yeah but it's not a big deal. Have some stuff I have to quickly wrap up
I'll also hop on in a while, just have to finish a computer science lesson :P
No worries
Hey hey
Hey, @faint ermine. This might be obvious, but I wasn't really following what you were saying yesterday (about the points and beacons) π
Is this what you were trying to explain? https://www.desmos.com/calculator/nsxjwkgry5
Oh right.
Yep. This is pretty interesting.
Like a 'washer'
hello everyone
Check the link I posted, I think that's what I did.
dhruv rathi hello
i found out the reason why the old data gets erased when i run the program again , because i was trying to save it in a new excel file so it was creating a new excel file every time i run the program
Oh right. Desmos is pretty cool btw. It's not got as many features as Geogebra, but has a much nicer interface imo.
so i tried saving it in the existing excel file to overwrite it , it worked !
inner_r = max([math.dist(A, m) for m in measurements])
outer_r = min([math.dist(A, m) + math.dist(B, m) for m in measurements])
how to send coding like this and not like text
I was thinking about how you might do this probabilistically.

Here's how to format Python code on Discord:
```py
```
These are backticks, not quotes. Check this out if you can't find the backtick key.
Yeah. You maximise your information if you have a point that lies on the same line as the points.
One point between them, and one outside them, to get the actual distance.
What would be really interesting is if you could take the approximate distances between a load of points, and use that to reconstruct the geometry.
Yeah, it's really nice!
You can do things like linear regression as well in Desmos.
Geogebra is more popular; this annoys me π
print("Hello")
Anyway, just wanted to show you that. I'm off for lunch π
so we have to use ` this one before pasting our code

poetry itself is built around PEP517 so yes, it's more suitable for pip-installable projects
Whereas pipenv still does need a proper setup.py for that, even with the dependency management
Use direnv to automatically activate venvs
hi there
I saw a bitcoin miner lately on the internet
wanted to know someone's opinion
Crypto is a massive gamble
And a very high risk, little to no gain unless you're a major conglomerate that owns tons of server farms that are constantly mining
I don't quite like how pyenv doesn't automatically set the global Python immediately
So installing a version is more than just a single step most times
That. THAT'S the issue I have
It's always
$ pyenv install <new-version>
$ pyenv global <new-version> <every-single-old-version>
It's a bit of a pain
I feel like making it create a venv is funky. Like... it tries to make the same one work for all of them or something dumb

Right
there is a fix i saw

but why this warning
be back in vc later probably, need a bit of time to listen to some music
Likely because the certificate you currently have for the site is expired. They usually have a set life and are replaced as you use them, so you normally don't see these kinds of things
So when the certificates expire, your system has to go out either to the site or to a hub that has a bunch of verified certificates (might be making that part up) and updates them so that your computer knows which ones are valid
I THINK that's right

i am seeing that i can compare the SSH256 hash to verify the authenticity of no Man in the Middle attack
but isnt there a way that it should happen automatically

mutable-default?
Also I'm being a nix nerd again but it's a really nice abstraction over reproducible package management for global installations
I think normally it should do it by itself when trying to interact with a server, but I don't know what all you're doing to get to that screen
hmm
But again, this is coming from someone who has a loose knowledge of network handling
Dependency versions are also determined based on the current state of the package index, and the maintainers ensure that they build fine

SpaceX is set to launch the Starship SN9 prototype to an altitude of approximately 10 kilometers. A launch attempt is possible between 9 am and 6 pm Central time on Tuesday. However, as with testing, there is always a chance that teams could decide to stand down and try again on a different day.

You're not far off
~$1400
Feels a little expensive but not terrible
They use Chromium for the Dragon capsule interface
Sure, but it's far from cheaper for the purposes we need
We have laptops for our auditors because they need them on site
We don't provide them for the other folks
@uncut meteor They gimble
We have a handful of travel laptops, but those are being used in WFH

How long is warranty on laptops?

@uncut meteor jet fuel can't mylep myelp?

Still figure itβs about same price as laptop + desktop
liquid oxygen can't freeze steel beams?

Since you need to secure cheap home desktops
I don't know man
Yea
I mean I get where you're coming from
But at the same time it's just not what we need with these things
Sure, you have existing desktops which is problematic
MSP probably wonβt sell you cheap desktops, we didnβt. Screw that noise
So the option is to get more expensive laptops?
Cheers, goes beyond what we need
That's my point, we're buying within the needs we have
All the staff should make their avatars pink π
Does my face count? Because I really don't want to make the effort
I didn't know where you were in desktop replacement cycle
if you are no where close, laptops make no sense, if you are close, instead of 2x 800 dollar laptops, 1x 1600 laptop
These aren't part of the 5 year cycle
Yeah, we're still a few years out from the replacement phase
Last batch was around... 2018 I think
but when replacement phase comes due, consider laptops for everyone
And only some of those are getting swapped
one endpoint is easier then 2
The key is that we don't want client data on the endpoint machines

doesn't matter, if they VPN in, they become security bridgeheads

But if someone grabs the machine they can lift the files directly
