#Updating Forge - safe?

So I play the (regular) Adventure mode and I used to always update forge, until I had a gamebreaking error. As the map was changed in an update, places/coordinates where wrong (quest markers leading to wrong places) and I couldn't progress my main quest even though I managed to find the right location and cleared it.

I don't know if you can answer this question but: is it (relatively) safe to update the game now or was there another change to the map as a few months ago?
I feel like I'm lacking the card art if I don't update and of course it's nice to have it (and fixes!) (:

There is never a guarantee that the Snapshot builds are working perfectly. If you want a (relatively) stable experience, then stick to main releases.

How do I only update a main release? It simply always asks me to update when it starts but there are only snapshot updates there. Do the main releases install automatically?

if you are not on android, there is a separate release type that is just the major updates

Yeah, android gets the daily updates always.

On days when that includes the set releases you get those
