Online lobby with friend

Helped my Friend get forge downloaded and running and had her join a lobby before while editing her deck but now wont even let either of us join each other, what could be the reason and is there a way to get it to connect more reliably?

you have to port forward or use a virtual lan network like hamachi to bypass your firewall
