How can I play with old decks that are no longer legal?

I want to play brawl against the AI using a couple of old decks with some cards that are no longer legal. How can I do that?

Disable "Deck Conformance" in settings.

Can you paste the deck? Locate the .dck file on your hard drive and paste it here.

I've tried to do this as well. Deck conformance doesn't work to allow old Brawl decks for some reason. This is how I do it: a while back a guy made an alternative file for Brawl that has older and newer sets. You can update this txt file with new sets when they're released. Note that you'll need to overwrite Forge's Brawl.txt file with this after every update when you would like to use the new Brawl format.

I last updated this a month ago, so you may need to add a few sets. Again, you only have to overwrite on update if you want the expanded Brawl format, of course.

If you know how to code, you could create a fork and make your own Brawl format for the custom folder, but I don't so I do this.

I'm lost, isn't Commander format official rules have 40 life?

If you want to play brawl with old card sets, edit the brawl.txt in the formats/casual folder, and include all the sets you need to play.
