The three egg counters generated on the exiled cards from Darigaaz, Shivan Champion’s spellbook only take one turn to return from exile, this makes the card extremely strong in quest mode

At least on 1.6.64-SNAPSHOT-08-05 the card seems to be working properly for the most part. The only issue is that the triggered ability ordering prompt reveals information about the face-down cards a bit early.

interesting I am on release forge-1.6.64 2024-08-15. It may be because I am on Quest mode commander subformat. Does the game engine process the turns as if it is a 4 player game even though it is a 1v1 game in quest mode? (actually that doesn't make sense because it should only trigger on my upkeep...)

There have been some issues with effects that place counters recently, #1274062370431438889 message #1271644559063121964 message . Couldn't say for sure if removal of counters is affected in the same way... Hmm, could you check if 3 egg counters are actually being put on the facedown cards? Perhaps the more recent issue with the last room of the Undercity dungeon is relevant here.

Where would I be able to look for the 3 egg counters?

depending on your settings you should be able to see a text overlay on that card back like so
said settings, which say nothing about not displaying that cards have counters on them.
I guess this means the counters aren't being put on the exiled cards.

yeah I think there are no counters being placed on the card. Are you able to reproduce the issue on your end using Darigaaz as a commander in quest mode?

Doesn't seem like I can, as above all else, I haven't used quest mode at all so I don't have access to Darigaaz on it. Though I wouldn't think, regarding this, that the card would work differently between formats.
Best I can do is set up Darigaaz leading a random commander deck on 1.6.64-SNAPSHOT-08-05, where it works as expected; and on a fork that was 4 commits ahead of master when I downloaded it yesterday, where the exiled card is indeed not getting those counters.
