The AI has [[Volcanic Offering]] in its hand. However, I have [[Avacyn, Angel of Hope]] in play so all my permanents are Indestructable. The AI keeps attempting to play Volcanic Offering. I see a couple of odd bugs:
- The spell prompts me to select a target land
- The spell then cancels instead of fizzling
This keeps the spell in the AI's hand without tapping any mana, so the AI keeps attempting to play it. Sometimes multiple times in a row.
As far as I can read in the rulings, "Indestructible" permanents are still valid targets for "Destroy" spells/abilities, the spell or ability would resolve normally, but would have no effect.
In this case I think the AI should either be able to detect in advance of playing the spell that there are no useful targets for it. Otherwise, if the AI still attempts to cast it, the spell should play and resolve but fizzle.
forge.log and game state txt attached.
Another minor complaint is that when the AI attempts to cast the spell, I get prompted to select a target, but there is no event in the game log and no spell on the stack, so as far as I can see the card doesn't exist and the AI is playing it out of nowhere. This was really confusing to me, cause I kept seeing the same spell pop up multiple times, but couldn't figure out where it was coming from.
