#Is there a way to make Forge stay longer (or never close) while in the background?

I'm using Android (Samsung A50) and was wondering if there's a way to make Forge stay active while in background for hours.

Currently, it automatically closes after some short time, or if there are several apps open at the same time.

Is there anything I can do, like installing a special app that would keep Forge awake at all time or something?

Is enabling the Auto-cache size in the settings helpful for this?

If you have lots of RAM (8GB RAM or more, since some phones even on unrestricted force close the app if you have little RAM), set Forge battery to unrestricted.. (Screenshot from my Galaxy S10+)

Also on recent menu, tap Forge icon and select keep open..

Then the preview will have lock icon...

Thanks @glossy rune !

Unfortunately I don't have either of the settings on my Samsung A50.

@gilded walrus Different naming, on optimize battery use not optimized, then on recent app tap lock this app.

Thanks again @glossy rune ! "Lock app" does nothing. Forge still closes in the background as usual and has to load from scratch.

And even after I'd switched to Unoptimized, nothing changed.

Very strange... I wish there was an app that could prevent another app from ever going to "sleep".

Try to enable RAM Plus... some Samsung phones have that..
