What are Auctions?
Auctions provide valuable growth and a boost in discovery for your bot, community, project, creation, or company -- millions of users visit Top.gg every week to find and discover Discord Bots, Discord Servers, and other projects! Auctions are a way for anyone interested in advertising on Top.gg to bid on featured spots on our platform. To learn more about how auctions work in detail and to understand our guidelines for advertising Top.gg, read our What is Auctions? Support Article.
How do I start bidding?
To begin bidding, log in at https://auctions.top.gg/, where you can either choose an existing discord bot or server to advertise, or create a new product on the Create page. You can then select the category you’d like to bid on, and what you’d like to promote (i.e. your bot, server or product). At the bottom of the leaderboard on the right, you’ll see two input slots to put your CPM (cost per thousand impressions) and your budget. For more information, please check out our How does CPM Bidding Work? Support Article.
When will my advertisement go live?
The first advertisement (the one with the highest CPM bid) will go live between 19:00 UTC and 20:00 UTC on Tuesday. Advertisements are shown in the order of the CPM bid (i.e. the leaderboard), with the advertisement of the highest CPM bid being shown first for all of its prepaid impressions and then moving on to the second highest bid, until the following Tuesday when the following week’s ads go live.
What is an extra impressions payment / What are retroactive payments?
Payment requests for “extra impressions” are generated when your advertisement has received more impressions than initially estimated. This type of payment request is also referred to as “retroactive charging”. If you’d like to find out more, read our "Extra Impressions"/Retroactive Charging Support Article.
