me
It does look like there is an option to set up a dedicated server for it, if we have enough interest. Otherwise we could just do classic host based multiplayer.
This page provides basic instructions on setting up and operating a Satisfactory dedicated server.
what kind of game is it?
Building/exploration. Mostly building. Essentially you gather resources to make into things, which lets you build more things.
There's some light combat from what I recall, and some exploration of stuff, but it's mostly building things like bases and, well, factories to automate things.
I haven't played it myself, though I bought it on sale because it interested me, but I've seen a fair few videos in it from time to time. One of their pictures on the Steam store is actually from a youtuber I watch, where he built a giant construct out of conveyer belts.
If we're all interested, I could try switching the 7dtd server to this
I'm down for it, though it may be a day or two before I could play due to family stuff.
Connection Info
144.48.106.170:7787
I have a backup of the 7dtd if anyone wants it, but the server is being swapped over
might take a bit
@ivory mulch wake up and play

I'd hop on, but I don't need to stay up late tonight because my family does things early in the day by my standards, and I know starting out I'll probably play for several hours straight. I also need to see if there's a good setup I can figure out for my controller for it, which might take me a bit. Will try to hop on either tomorrow night or the next day depending on how much energy I have after my family get together tomorrow.
i hab lunch break
can join in to check
i tried pasting the IP on join game
nvm found it

@radiant zinc i guess the server is only online when you're on?
Oh?
Defeats the purpose of a dedicated server...
Maybe I missed a setting or something
Did you try to create a game from there?
my closest copper place
really need to figure out how to optimize the production line, i have 4 iron mines, 1 limestone mine, and 1 copper mine
and my conveyor line is very unhappy
oh god help me
ok now i understand why people are addicted to this game

lol
yeah, it gets crazy
ok so the server is just straight up offline
and wont start
so I put in a ticket 😦
woot, server is back up
there is so much to do in this game lol..
success
I also marked where I hid aldi's lazy character who's just chillin'
now to do copper and limestone behind me
Looks like it's going well. Will definitely hop on tomorrow. After spending time with my family today I'm just trying to relax. I ended up napping for a few hours once I got home.
I'm just staring at concrete being made while watching youtube
sips ☕
Yup, power grid is working

How come the server is always offline when I wake up 😦
ye thats why im playing single player mostly
something wrong with the server setting?
not sure
I mean I played a long time yesterday
I think it needs a restart trigger
thats all I needed to do to fix it
I think it's disconnecting from steam
I added an auto restart
we saw it say it was going to restart and then it didnt that first night
so I assume that's what's missing
I'm working on some at the moment
Are you having issues with pressure? From what I recall seeing in videos you basically have to put a pump or something along the pipeline to keep pressure going.
if you want to see
The spot I picked to build this... there's a giant spider spawn like.. right next to it
it sucks lol
More than likely I'll hop on in just a bit. Are we all working on just one base or are we doing seperate bases?
Ah, still haven't gotten it figured out?
it shoudl be good
I played like all day yesterday
was fine
but overnight it wasn't doing the reboot
so I am forcing one now
Fair enough. PC stuff always has issues, so no surprise something popped up.
yeah, I dunno
I swapped the server
and then did all the stuff in game to set it up
the support guy even asked me "did you swap this from 7dtd?"
I was like.. yeah?
but supposedly they fixed it
but like the game says it'll reboot the server
and then didnt do it
so I just need to time the reboot job to that timer
it looked like it was disconnecting from steam
since that's how steam based servers works
it creates an anoynmous steam user
Ah, that makes sense.
Updating the game and then I'll be hopping on.
I found a community controller layout that should work in theory, but I'll have to test it and may have to adjust some stuff. Already had to switch the sprint button because they had it tied to R3 instead of L3 for some reason.
you wont need to sprint much
unless you're bolting across land
Ok, I understand fluids now
@acoustic cloud @radiant zinc ping me when you two are online
@ivory mulch we're both online
sweet, auto restart worked
@ivory mulch I died like 20 times to your uranium because I removed the random storage crate thinking it was a mistake placement
it was not intended to be this kind of trap
i heard you talk about uranium
but apparently it's not safe lol
looks like we have presents
Yea, Uranium is dangerous. Also once we start nuclear power down the line, we have to carefully dispose of all the nuclear waste, because it gives off radation poisoning too.
lol the game told me to go back to work after I collected a bunch of presents
In fairness, Hexy was gone for a while still after you left I think. Plus I was busy fighting with conveyor belts.
Lol. Nice.
big fact of the day
yeah this was the event i was talking about.
maybe it took the servers local time to start?
Probably, since it's only now December for us, but you're a few hours ahead.
yeap
timezones how do they work
magic
wow, upgrading power poles crashes the server
That's really odd.
That's a pain, but ah well. About to hop on.
@ivory mulch I built us a fun new toy to help us get around.

Just be sure to bring your parachute.
Oh yea, makes sense. I'm guessing it ended up just going in order so it clogged the line?
I thought about hopping back on but I realized how tired I am, lol. I know like an hour or so ago the game told me I'd been playing for six hours straight.

lol Gamer got a couple and one brought us a nuke also xD
@acoustic cloud good news, the oil factory is running solid. makes plastic, rubber, and packaged fuel. it's also slowly producing your gun powder if it has coal and sulfur.
Bad news, while recording the truck route I ran over a spitter mob and it sent me flying out into the ocean and out of the map so far out that I was out of bounds and died and I don't see a way to recover the truck :/
I guess now I understand why everyone builds everything above ground
easy enough to fix I suppose
build a platform move the station up, build a new truck..
That's a pain. Oof.
Yea, Aldi, doggo farms are useful because they can bring you back all sorts of materials. I have four in our world, (which you should play some more sometime), and they've brought back a few things, including a few power slugs.
one dog spawns near the oil
you'll probably need to kill bees along the path to get it home though
I'll see what I can do when I hop on here in a bit. Watching a couple of things until I can convince myself to find something to eat, then I'll hop on after I'm done.
I applied to like 20 more places today
so I just have a few things to do around the house and I'll be back on
Good luck.
I think I'm going to make a battery bank when I get on
Could be useful, since we'll keep needing more power. Don't want everything to shut down if we accidentally go over our infrastructure.
I'm kind of surprised we don't have it already. I would have thought oil based generators would have been one of the first things in all the stuff we unlocked.
you can refine it
just not power with it yet
I guess
first though
I'm going to go mine sam
I really really want the pocket dimension
so I dont have to carry a full inventory
Yea, that's entirely fair and useful. Setting up at least a storage center like I have for the sulfur on that sam node near the coal was one of the things I was going to do when I hop on.
the server goes offline because when the admin leaves it closes the steam connection
I need to figure out how to be a client, not an admin
Hmm. Looking into it, I'm seeing a lot of people apparently have this issue, and I've seen a couple of solutions, but it looks like some of them don't work for everyone or only work in very specific setups.
weird
oh well
I made a mini storage area
and tried a rail cannon blueprint
set up our first dimensional storage and a sam miner
Nice. I got distracted but am probably about to hop on.
need high speed connectors
@acoustic cloud
server is getting a bunch of light errors
[2024.12.03-02.59.44:138][597]LogNetPackageMap: Warning: FNetGUIDCache::SupportsObject: LightweightCollisionComponent /Game/FactoryGame/Map/GameLevel01/Persiste

Yea, was about to say. I'm showing 1200 ping when I started to go back into it.
rebooting
Really odd. Like I said it happened when I tried to blow up a cluster of rocks, but I only used two explosives, and it hasn't done that before.
the hosted server is not as stable as I'd like it to be
its back up
at least its fast
The best part is if I screenshot, things look somewhat normal, @radiant zinc
I hit the ceiling.
lol..
It didn't, but it did lock it up to where I couldn't do anything.
I logged for the reboot
Ah well. Will just hop back on in a few once it's all rebooted.
👍🏻
Ping me when it's back up.
Nice. Another screenshot I took briefly before I got erased from existence, by the way.
I'm pretty sure that small landmass in the center is the entire playable world.
Fair.
Many things.
we added an oil rig
and doubled our power
added more launchers
built a train
@acoustic cloud you can try to get on
Trying now.
oh I see you did
I'm in, lol.
sweet
ok so it's just me
I need to deauth myself as admin somehow
oh well something to think about tomorrow
tomorrow I'm adding more to the oil rig and then sending the train to a new stop
or maybe I'll try to sort out the home base and get storage going properly..
that might be better
I've handled our train depot storage. Most likely indefinitely, and if not, at least for the forseeable future.
I also setup a third floor that's "semi-auto" crafters, so we can manually put in batches of materials to have them craft, for stuff that'd be too much work to automate.
Our storage system.
Up to five double containers full of 16 different items that are sorted, plus 15 double containers worth of overflow storage for unsorted items.
All of which are accessible from ground level, and the ports are available to pipe them out via conveyer belts.
Called it a night after getting that setup and getting the rest of the stuff going for the space elevator. I dumped all my excess inventory into the storage system. Anything that doesn't get sorted should end up at the bottom box where my body is sitting.
It's not a perfect storage system, and not a full on auto sorter, but it should at least keep us from having the same things spread out among fifteen different boxes when we can't be bothered to sort something.
(Particularly Aldi.)
To have it sort stuff, just put your items in the first set of containers behind the railway station.
I have a tileable storage system that auto sorts, so we can fix it all up
woot server update
What got updated?
Unfortunate, but maybe at least we won't have as many random small issues.
GAMEPLAY
Reverted the snapping changes when building on the sides of Pillars to allow free placement again
BUG FIXES
Potential fix for a crash when replacing holograms with another (I.e. Replacing Pipe Hologram with a Hypertube)
Fixed a crash when Upgrading Power Poles or splitting a Wire from a Power Pole or Wall Outlets
UI
Fixed incorrect title in Network Errors
LOCALISATION
Updated community translated languages with the latest translations
Updated credits```
not much updated
I mean the power pole fix is nice.
yeah that's good
hard crashes is good thing to fix quickly
ok, built my relay station
and started a more centralized store building
Fair. My storage system I setup is mostly meant for anything we have coming from the train(s), that way we won't have it all clog up quickly due to overproduction.
With room to expand depending on how many trains we get going.
Might not hop on tonight since I played so long yesterday. Probably a good idea to give my brain a bit of a break from staring at conveyer belts and storage boxes.
Just a "bit", lol. I set up that semi-auto production section, the train storage area, and a couple of hypertubes to make getting up on the overhang easier. And the crystal storage area way out there, but that was mostly done before you hopped off.
Im going to dismantle the bio fuel energy area
Yea, I thought about doing that as well but was going to wait and see what your thoughts were. We don't need it anymore so it's just wasted space.
I figure it'd be more useful as either a storage area of some sort, or a place for more battery banks.
yeah
I think I might make it the copper area
and move all the copper production over there
Yea, fair. That would let us make that side where the copper currently is more focused on steel production.
Since it's kind of a mess over there at the moment.
I have a full steel production going way out in the middle of no where
it's just steel ingots right now
Fair. You could also set one up near the coal plant/quartz zone. There's a pure iron node up on that cliff where my storage is there, and it's right beside the coal.
Then when we have a train going out there we can feed quartz, sam, and steel ingots into it for shipping.
My greatest invention yet
On one hand, it's glorious. On the other, unless that was something that's pre-formed, that had to be a lot of work to contain it while it was spewing kamikazi bees at you.
I like how I said this, and then I decided to go back to rewatching some of Josh's Satisfactory videos.

More about Satisfactory: Construct & Automa...
Wasn't too bad actually, the build range is pretty far and I was able to stack a foundation on top of it out of range, then added a second one. Then the walls, then the lower beams.
I'm going to make a blue print and use this all the time lol
Yea, fair enough. I sometimes forget the build range is so far.
You could just turn the whole world into a zoo with random exhibits everywhere.
Oh?
And I want to take the train around the lake
Since it needs to go that way anyhow
So where the iron miners are, I want to make a big circle platform above it and make a few floors of it
And turn it into a cliff face building
I learned how to do circles
Circle-ish
Turn it into a futuristic area
Though I like the catwalks
They can't really be in a circle
Sounds like it may turn out pretty well if you can get it going.
Looking forward to seeing how it goes.
I'm going to login in about 15
I need to fix my storehouse manifold
And my blueprint for it
This old engineer had a neat tip for it on YouTube that I'll use
I may hop on in a bit. Not sure what I feel like doing at the moment honestly. I'm already drained mentally because tomorrow I have to visit my grandmother to help her buy a new computer...
I just replaced my mother's computer
less than $200
refurb optima off amazon
runs really well
I prefer the work machines for her because they're made to just run with nothign fancy. I'll dm some links
Yea, under $200 is going to be my goal for my grandmother. She really just needs something that will let her browse the internet and store pictures and all, so low end is good enough.
But I also don't want to get her one that she'll have to replace in a few months because the quality is bad.
I like how @ivory mulch made us play this but then refuses to play with us
I mean, yea, to a degree, but Hexy and I have been playing coop fairly well. I make stuff to fit the need of the moment, while Hexy fixes it and does the long term planning.
Which keeps me from going insane sorting conveyer belts for all eternity.
well about that
kinda hard to leave once you have a plan/build going on
and it just keeps appearing

I mean, in fairness, I stayed up like four hours past when I was going to go to bed the other night just because I kept getting distracted working on other stuff while I was waiting for concrete encased beams to be made so I could setup the train storage.
Partly because some of the things I got distracted by also needed those materials, so I was still going through them faster than they were being made.
Even after upgrading the systems that were making them.
tbh kinda my fault for starting SP and letting this goes on
You should definitely hop in the mp world at some point though when Hexy and I are on.
belts are insane to keep track of but I totally have an idea to make it easier on us
now that smart splitters are a thing
Would be useful. I can't count the number of times I had to chase entire lines of conveyers back to their machines because I had no idea what was going on.
damn it
my smart storage system is too close together
screw it
we'll jus tmake it a loop

Yea, that could work. Will be a bit of a pain to rearrange the train storage depo if you're moving the station, but otherwise I can see it making things a bit more organized.
all the stuff in the train depot will go to that building above it
it doesn't have all the height you have, but we can build it up. I dunno if we need THAT many items stored if we're constantly producing. the top of the stack should be a dimensional storage
but that'll be where we can sort all the items and ship them out
Well the main reason for all the height is to let it store massive amounts of the materials that the trains will be bringing back and forth, since unlike the production at our base, we'll be slowly building up a ton of raw materials it that gets shipped. Particularly during times when the server is running but we're not actively turning those materials into something in particular.
yeah, we just don't really need to store raw materials, only produced ones
like screws
we don't need to store a ton of that, since it just gets turned into everything else
What I mean though, is that a lot of those materials, like say, rubber and plastic, we need for a lot of different recepies, so building up a ton of it to use in those different recepies will be useful, unless we're actively using it at the same rate we're getting it in.
yeah
That's the main thing the larger storage is meant to account for, since it'll be harder to setup constant production on the materials we're bringing in, with the steady flow of them, compared to materials chains we have on stuff near the base. And if we get an overflow of a material that's getting shipped in, it could break the whole shipping line.
right but trains can only ship so much
Yea, but the thing with automated shipping is that if we're working on other stuff, it'll still be bringing it over. With all our production lines that are in the base itself, like steel, an overflow of materials will just stop one line. If the train shipping overflows, then it'll stop any of the various resources from the trains from coming in. So if say, we end up not using plastics as much, but we're using a lot of rubber, steel, etc that's coming in, the plastics may overflow and the other materials will stop coming in.
that's the point of smart sorting, if it overflows instead of stopping, it sinks
so the material is lost for points, but production continues on pace
that's how you balance the efficiency
since production is essentially infinite
I saw a video of a guy who spent like 2000 hours and sinks 54mil points a minute
lol
Alright, as long as you can get it setup properly to do that without issue. With what little I messed with overflow smart sorting it seemed like it was a bit finicky, and ended up sending a bunch of materials to the overflow even though their paths were clear, because something else was overflowing.
we can store 5 rows high if you really want, once storage is built we can handle any amount really
I just want a dimensional on top
so it's always full
Fair, though the dimension has issues clogging up if a particular material is full. I had to "unclog" it several times by taking out the item that was full. Unless you plan on having a seperate uploader for each material.
right, so you point a single item to one
so every stack of one item has it's own dismensional
that one item will always ben full
We're not really changing what you built
Yea, that's fine then. I just wasn't sure how difficult or expensive it was to make extra dimensional uploaders, or if it was something like you could only have one.
Just moving it and adding overflow to sink
They're fucking expensive lol
But whatever!
Well, with what I built, you'll have to put the dimensional uploaders on the bottom. The way my stuff is setup is so that the materials go into the top container and then feed down, so that the bottom container is always the most full.
That way it's easier to access.
Yeah, mine is reversed. It feeds from below the floor
But would feed to the top, load the dimensional, then fill downwards
Fair. As long as it's feeding downwards. Don't want to have to go to the topmost container to get something if it's not full.
Yea, that's what my setup avoids. basically it fills into the bottom going up to the top.
Let me reword that. The raw materials go into the top, then fill down to the bottom, so that the bottom container will be the most full, the one above it the second most, etc.
Anyhow, I'm sure it'll all work. I'm just showing my thought process and making sure things are accounted for.
yeah
make sense
I made the storage area mostly so that I could go to a central place to grab what I need to build
and then it's a central place to feed everything into
and route it out as needed
Especially since it's a pain to rework stuff after it's setup.
In the end, my main concerns are overflow, and ideally we want a bit of a stockpile to build up in case we suddenly need a lot of materials. We got basically out of screws and copper plates while I was working on stuff the other night after you hopped off, when we'd had plenty prior, just because some things suddenly needed them.
yeah, screws are a bottle neck
I might do a floor of my circle build just for screws
We go from having a full container of them at times, to having none at all.
yeah, our lines are not balanced
that's knd of my fault
since I didnt set it up to handle all the additions
Well, I think a large part of it is that sometimes we don't need a material except briefly or to make one thing, then several recepies are needing it all at once.
It's less an issue of the lines not being balanced, and more just that there ends up with an increased supply needed for some things depending on our current goals.
that's the problem with adding more machines
since the requirements increase we arnt always adding more production to match the full line
like a rotor takes 100 screws or soemthing stupid
25
Heavy Modular Frame is 120 screws
it's crazy
I dunno how to balance for that yet
Probably just pipe in more resources, improve resource lines as much as we can, and set up additional lines.
yeah
The issue is managing it with limited space without it getting too messy.
My solution is usually just "build more floors".
yeah, that's the general idea
With the old bioreacter area, for example, we can theoretically build floors all the way up to the hard ceiling if we need to.
Then we just need to pipe in the raw materials we need for the different production lines.
Either via coneyers or trains, depending on how quickly we need them.
Unlocked a bunch of research, fixed some output paths, fixed the storage area filters, started a semi mega sized oil energy building, my battery relay has a radar tower now, fixed the coal power water flow finally, your quartz storage was locked up so I added overflows to sink
tomorrow I think I'm going to get excess steel production started in my offbase and then lay out the new big base buildings so I can move stuff around and zone it all for conveyer lines
We may need to move the space elevator also
No progress is lost when we do
Maybe on my junction building?
Yea, maybe somewhere a little out of the way would work. We only really need it around when we're pumping materials into it for the next tier anyhow, and we can always do that wherever it is.
Could always put it up on a cliff or something, lol.
@acoustic cloud THE DOGS CAN BRING BACK URANIUM
Confirmed? From what I read on the wiki they removed that from their pool.
@acoustic cloud playing today? should I send off the elevator or wait for you?
@woeful osprey if you wanted to play with us, the world is bigger than skyrim's. Plenty of places to build and do your own thing or join us
I will probably hop on later tonight, once my brain power returns. I forgot how annoying amazon is to search through for stuff at times, so my time at my grandmother's was more draining than I thought. You can go ahead and send the elevator though.
Unless it's the last one.
I think we have 2 more
Then yea, go for it.
I mean, that's how it goes. Have to progress to unlock more, and as you do it needs new things that you couldn't make before.
the game is out of my game budget
i already bought some games this month also paying for a gatcha game
you guys have fun, i will join the next game
Lol.
we now have a portion of our main base producing the 6 main components into dimensional storage: wire, rods, copper plate, copper wire, iron plates and screws
so they should always be avail
Very nice.
assemblers are in place
@acoustic cloud this is very distopian
I spent 2 hours trying to get this curve.. then found a guy who made a blueprint for it
might have to make it larger depending on what's being shipped into it
Fair. And yea, lol. It'll also give you vertigo if you stare up too much.
Definitely looks like you've been doing a lot of good work. Sorry I haven't hopped on.
Fair enough. I do have some ideas for something I want to work on and some stuff I want to test out when I do hop on next. Just in kind of a "I barely exist right now" mood and don't really feel like playing anything, lol.
all good
I'm going to get the manufacters in place and call it a night, got a vet appt in the morning
I hope your kitty is doing well.
it's a blood test to see how her liver is doing, the meds dont do well on the liver
so we're seeing if she's holding up or if we need to switch meds
Ah, fair. Hopefully she's handling it alright.
me too
I dream of getting attacked by bees and charged off a cliff
cause that happens to me too often
I've taken to sniping their nests from a distance. I've gotten oddly good at shooting enemies while parachuting.
The worst is I went into a cave that had like.. medium sized spiders, not the big ones but much bigger than usual. Had my sound off so didn't even know and it was a jumping puzzle for a mercer. Suddenly got knocked off and murdered
Yea, had to deal with that when setting up the quartz mine. They're such a pain when they swarm you.
nooo
i pointed some of the smart storage the wrong way
sigh..
need to re do all the mergers so it can loop
oh
I need to re do half the mergers and half the smart spiltters

almost done though
and lighting
dimensionals go above the lighting and we can grow the stacks as needed
trying to get this all set up so I can start putting things into it
Looking nice.
@radiant zinc server needs update?
just happened today yeah
I was just downloading the patch
running the update
its up
yeah

i need time away from my world
ive had enough of conveyor belts and pipes for now

I was thinking about hopping on here in a bit once my stomach settles, (I ate too much, too quickly).
The spiders are scary
Haven't seen one of the big ones yet.
Lol.
Also Hexy, I think I'm off for the night. May hop back on later, but at least for now I'm taking a break.
Of course. Hopefully I'll hop back on before too long, but you know how I tend to lose track of days.
I'll make sure more infrastructure is in place!

ok that hover thing is awesome
you just have to be near power connectors
thank you for unlocking that lol
Lol. You're welcome. It sounded interesting, but wasn't sure how well it'd work.
I was going to redo all the powerlines anyhow, but now I know what else I need to thinkabout
Focus on one thing at a time.
duuuuddde
since the train tracks are all powered
you can hover along them for ever
Very nice.

May be a couple of days before I hop on again. New big update came out for Warframe.

From the looks of things, AK Endfield is basically Satisfactory meets an action RPG. May hold some more interest for the two of you as a reult.

About 4:20 shows off some of the base setup stuff.
yeah i will be playing this come 15jan beta + the release day
satisfactory is just the tutorial phase

man how i wish that base overhead view/edit thing existed in satisfactory
It does seem really nice for having a good look at things.

terror
im in part of the world where every interesting stuff is either guarded by 2 very big irradiated hogs or 3 L spiders + 1 XL green spider

I'm guessing you never ventured into the crystal mines I had setup did you? The swarms of the small spiders was a bit of a pain there.
I did
it was horrible
I was curious where the sam was coming from
saw that there was both in the cave. I stayed on top of the conveyers so was mostly safe
Lol. Fair enough. It was such a pain clearing them all out so that I could build there. I also went through some of the side paths to find stuff, and there were even more of them around.
There's a reason I bothered piping conveyers out to that storage zone instead of just setting it up in the cave.
Yeah, it's good that you conveyored it out
I have to get sooooo much more energy in place
I can't turn anything on
Started a big fuel power platform
I know I haven't been on lately, but shouldn't we be getting near nuclear power?
I unlocked it, but it takes a lot
once I build the fuel platform
I'll have enough power to run anything for a while
Fair. Honestly it could just be best to not bother with nuclear then, unless we need the byproducts for something, since it also requires a way to dispose of the radioactive waste.
Got trains in place shipping things around
Need to get sulfur onto the shipping lines and that's everything
Very nice.
Hopefully I'll be hopping on someday soon. I'm going to be busy the next couple of days though between some stuff I need to do, and family stuff due to Christmas.
That'll let me produce the black powder and start sulfuric acid
All good, I've been dividing my time between this and path of exile 2
Mine has been divided between Warframe, Marvel Rivals, and V Rising. Mostly Warframe.
I unlocked drones tonight, but they need fuel
Not surprising, but if you can get fueling them setup, they should help a lot with transporting stuff from remote areas, like sulfur.
And if I set up the oil fuel thing right, I could use that as drone fuel
Its going to produce a crap ton of rubber, which would turn into plastic and then packaged fuel is an option as a balance point
That's my next goal anyhow
It's not super efficient but it works
Just trying to stay focused haha
Off to bed o/
Rest well.
Getting there, when it's done it should be producing 20000mw
better than our measly 2-3k we have now
Sounds like a slight improvement.
panda : doing almost 10x power limit increase
gamer : slight improvement i see

just need to connect water to the blenders and oil to the refineries at the top
and hope it all works lol
80 fuel generators, 40 refineries, 10 water pumps, and a sink that will probably need to be 2 sinks if the rubber output it too much
the rubber can be turned into recycled plastic, but not sure of the logistics of that yet
Well, it's working
I need to duplicate the water extractors and run a second line of water, and split the oil lines into two
then wait for it to fill everything up which will probably take all day lol
Lol. But once it's going we probably won't have to worry about power again.

It produces like 800 rubber /min also
I think I'll siphon some of that off to create fuel containers and packaged fuel
So much, lol.
hmm, not completely efficient
the water flow is off
yeah the whole thing might go down if I can't fix this
Oof. I'm sure you'll figure it out though.
sweet, we're stable
time to overclock blenders and see if I can get excess fuel
no
leave it alone, Panda
full ficsmas production
huh
so the game just crashed for the first time
thats concerning
actually concerned regarding temps because it feels like my PC always going on full blast whenever im playing this game
and only for this game as far as i can remember
I think I've had 2-3 crashes
Haven't had any, though yea, from what I understand the game can be rough on PCs. Particularly as your base gets larger.

one was from exploding things, one was from me hot swapping jetpack and parachute while falling and then tapping the space bar a bunch
and one was from uh.. I think from a blueprint
You mentioning exploding things does remind me of that one time I blew up some rocks and it destroyed the server. Though even then it didn't hard crash on me. It just put me into 1 FPS land until after you rebooted it.
Though Aldi, one thing that might help if you're having performance issues is to segment your base off to different areas of the map, and just ship things from across the distance. I know from some videos in older builds of the game that it at least used to have a lot of trouble doing things if you had too much on screen/nearby, where it had to load in more assets.
turns out game was defaulting to ultra all this time
lowering to medium kinda stabilize it
mine did that too
set them to something more reasonable even though I could probably handle it
today's calendar item is greta
whoa new creature thing I havnt seen
Yea, that's an odd one. Haven't seen it before either.
ok, time to figure out the main bus line
and see if I can get started on a battery factory for drones
Satisfactory, one of the addictions of all time.

@ivory mulch I saw you log out but not log in lol
i did say hi but ig you were afk
yeah, sorry. was filling out job apps
ah ok2 no worries, gonna have breakfast now
im trying to start a nuclear plant on the server
but might need an mk3 miner for a stable sulfur
oh
Nuclear is crazy
I am just fixing the fuel levels on the oil gens and then I can see about finishing for mk3 miners
I think I just need to make the super computers, I should have all the mats
The electronics area has been running for a while
yeah but you really need that for the late-game item productions
I'll finish this generator upgrade, then make those
I am going to do some planning on paper so I can figure out this train flow
because producing 1 item with particle accelerator + somersloop'd can take 20kw energy
Oh geez
I haven't really progressed the server much, just been building and setting things up for next steps
I worked on a dam today at our water fall 🙂
Do we hydro electric in the game? No but it looks neat
yeh i wish thats an option
By the time gamer logs on again, I might have the whole base area pretty and organized lol
also why is me and gamers initial sitting location is now a hole + why is gamer now just a crate

I don't know

I mean, it's not like we can't make all of them again
tru
We're fairly stock piled on everything
I even have fabric being made
Synthetic cloth, baby!
The server just backed up and rebooted
@ivory mulch mk3 miners are avail now
hmm, they needs parts we don't have ready yet
I'll have to work on those
Ok, tomorrow we figure out the rail logic so I can get things flowing better
I think I'm going to set up to ship sulfur into the line
since it's needed for a bunch of locations
There's 2 parts you need we don't have producing yet though
which part?
oh the fused cube ig
since we dont have nitrogen line yet
also need that for the waste processing i forgot
i'll finish setting up the water part first ig
gonna have 4 nuclear plants here
shit to build / have :
- miner mk3 + 1 power shard for sulfur
- 8 somersloops for uranium rod production
- concrete / electrorod / water / beam line
- 4 nuclear plants with 12 power thingy
- storage for waste
phase 2 : - 3 blenders for waste processing + silica line
- particle accelerator + 3 power shard + aluminum casing line for plutonium cell
- alternate recipe for plutonium cell
- 2 manufacturer (3 power shard + 4 somersloop each) + heatsink / steel beam / electrorod line for plutonium rod
- awesome sink to sink plutonium rod (150k each + dont have to deal with plutonium waste
)
Organized coal!
you did this on the server? whoa
I was just over that way and didnt notice lol
I was going to run a train up the back of the main base to that area so we can ship stuff in for nuclear
Sorry I haven't gotten around to getting back on and doing more.
all good, It's why I've been slow and just building things
aldi, encased beams are shipping in now to your area
I'm going to be doubling our aluminum production tomorrow and then updating all the train schedules.
I think I'm going to use that walkway we ran for your beams to bring in sulfur from below, gamer set up an outpost for it but we didnt figure out a shippign method yet. I'm just going to bring it up and run it along the path for now.
Once trains are working better, I have to get batteries going
im omw home, gonna set up the encased beam line + figure out the electro rod
thanks for the massive message i guess
k only need to connect the splitter to the uranium rod line, but the uranium waste radiation gonna be big if we dont have the waste treatment
so im gonna work on the milestone now
also gotta find nitrogen gas source for nitric acid
closest nitrogen gas source
Lol I unlocked the big signs, gotta use them
I'm totally using these signs on everything
hmm
so my game crashed, i joined into the server again, my inventory gone, and i saw my character icon on the map moving northwest

I see you
im already out of the game tho
you're in base
whoa, what's with these blenders in my roadway?
if its the one hooked to pipes, thats me trying to start fused cubes + cooling stuff for milestones
I can try to boot you
gotta put these blenders into a building up off the ground
also
lol you're still logged in even after a reboot
Aldi has died and become a ghost.
hmm
which one?
is it always a storage unit?
what were you doing during the first crash?
I full on crashed, unreal report and everything
so stupid they still havnt fixed the server rebooting when admin leaves
just waiting to see if the train brings rubber or not.
rubber good to go
now to make sure we have enough rubber going to the station
just need to connect the last conveyor and nuclear is good to go

so hopefully the nuclear power is good for like
a week hopefully
until the storage for fissile is full
cant
gotta turn it to plutonium cells, then plutonium rods, and then you can sink it
nah thats still tier 8
i got the particle accelerator at the site to generate plutonium cells, but need the alternate recipe + casing belt up there
then feed it to manufacturer with heat sink + steel beam + electrorod to get the plutonium rods, then sink it for 150k-ish points
but until we can get the resources going, better to keep it as the fissile uranium thing
since it has the second lowest radiation
i got like two towers of storage going for fissile
so 2 * 7 * 48 * 500
hm
i'll increase it just in case
this shows the most efficient grouping of buildings to get whatever you're trying to craft

only tool i use is the map
increased fission storage so it should be safe for like 100+ hrs
It is advised to make large farms near the world border featuring dozens of Storage Containers connected in series to concentrate all Waste storage into one area to minimize the area affected by radiation. ```
huh. glad we made this in the middle of the map...
we probably should turn it off until we're ready to use it
i mean yea this is why im sinking the rods instead of using it
dealing with plutonium waste is a hassle
what a pain in the ass
I guess I see why all the youtube videos have the setups like.. in the ocean
eh mine was fine in a cave
Well, long term I'd just turn it off
short term to make what we need is manageable
then we can just ship the waste all off to a remote area when we're done building whatever
xD
If there's a way to get about 1600 sulfur/min, we could get 143gw of power
Using a bunch of rocket fuel alt recipes
drone ports on the roof of the warehouse now!
Aldi's nuclear uses up all of our high speed connectors
Need to figure out a way to add more
@ivory mulch is this saying what I think its saying?
you can turn waste into fertile uranium?
thats what i already did

i have 3 blenders to process + that 2 huge towers to store those fissile uranium thingy
or did you assume uranium and plutonium as the same thing
so lemme make a clear diagram about nuclear resources to make it clear
uranium
V
uranium cell ---> lowest radiation, sinkable
V
uranium rods ---> resource for nuclear power plant, sinkable
V
uranium waste
V
nonfissile uranium ---> 2nd lowest radiation, we already made it here
V
plutonium cell
V
plutonium rods ---> sinkable
V
plutonium waste ---> highest radiation
V
ficsinite ---> tier 9 stuff
V
ficsinite rods
which is why i said the nuclear is fine where it is rn
gotta vent because of this
you cant ride on the drones
ok, drones work
I'm pulling sulfur from gamer's outpost and droning it to the oil fields
Not that we NEED to do this right now, but I can make rocket fuel now I think
can relate

Updated the quartz and sam area
half a building done
stores/produces quartz, processed quartz, and silica
and added processing of sam to make reanimated and flucuators since they're both needed down the line
And potentially could double everything and upgrade the miners if we needed more

started the tower to bring coal, bauxite and nitrogen gas to my oil fields
finally figured out why my numbers were off at the oil fuel platform
apparently I'm producing so much rubber, mk5 can't keep up
so the lines stall and slow the refineries
going ot have to double the lines
yeah, had 2k rubber clogged
That's a lot of rubber.
we produce about 1000/min
as the byproduct for fuel
and if everything is at 100%, I think we should have surplus fuel
which will let me do rocket fuel
now that I have sulfur and coal belted in
should be able to do rocket fuel, gun powder, and probably could pull off rifle ammo
I could add copper to the bus
That looks rather fancy.
my goal is to fancy everything up
i miss playing with gamer
who?
Lol. Sounds useful.
it took a while
but I have geo thermal'd all of the nodes
except like 2
that I didnt see
and it's all attached with wires
so you can hoverpack around most of the map
Very nice.
I may have stayed up until 6 am playing Code Vein instead. Got distracted doing side stuff.
No worries
I think today I'm going to ramp up steel production lines. I have a ton of beams and pipes being made in a new location but I want to see if I can add more modules to it and get all the steel items going in bulk. I saw someone make a giant line for iron north West of the main base using the pipe 8 iron nodes there, I might start that also. Need to bulk up production since the little starter area can't handle where we are at lol
The problem with upscaling production is you always need more resources I suppose, lol.
yeah
it feels like every tier needs a whole new copy of everything you built before
so you end up with like 6 basic factories
to keep up
which I guess is why people make everything modular rather than giant factories of everything
I've found it easier to just pipe in ingots and build what's need to support. Like using steel or cast screws right next to a manufacturer to make a ton of screws for the heavy modular frames, instead of pulling in screws from expanded production
Yea, seems easier to do it that way.
Probably not as efficient, all things considered, but significantly less trouble.
without a lot of space and planning, it's hard to be efficient
Yea. probably part of why some people build high up into the air, since it's the only real way to get a ton of space without things getting in the way.

That's really cool looking.
I saw a fun one where they made a giant ocean tanker in the air above where I was talking about making the iron factory
and they had created chains
attached it to the ground
Nice, lol. I kind of forget that you could actually design cool looking bases and do building stuff. Everytime I've seen anyone play the game it always ends up kind of like our base where it's a mess of production everywhere and very much "function over form".
that's why I've been spending so much time trying to organize lol
I mean, I ripped out the whole starter area to remake it as several floors
but yeah, too much to do still :/
Fair, lol. Maybe when I hop on I'll just spend some time playing around building something. Part of why I've been a bit hesitant to hop on is I feel like I've lost track of our goals and production lines and stuff, so it's hard for me to hop back in and find something to focus on.
Maybe starting up a side project to mess with could be a good route for me.
yeah, just ask
Everything is still kind of centralized
but we have drones now
and a rail system I'm slowly expanding
now that there's the geothermal network
easy to branch off anywhere
Once I get more production stabalized
I'm totally going to just build aestetics things
Most every resource is dimensionally stored
so should be easy to build whatever wherever
Fair enough. I do have a couple of ideas, but no idea for sure what I'll do.
was trying to find uses for the giant coal tower I made in the oil fields
but a biomass thing at the bottom for liquid biomass fuel for jetpacks
half way up I started using the natural terrain
there's a ledge, figured I'd do something silly with it and then see that cave on the left? walled that off quick
full of spider things
They do seem to be everywhere.
Packaged rocket fuel, just needs aluminum
@acoustic cloud I found a cave where doggos are making nests
what a sick cave too
Tempted to make this the new hub location lol
there's spiders in the rafters :/
whoa
package rocket fuel is sick for the jetpack you go so fast!
burns quick though
haha it's almost uncontrollable
lol we produce so much of it now
xD
I guess I gotta sink it
120/min
lol we already have 1000
Capture them. Even though they're probably worthless to us at this point.
Nice. The jetpack burns fuel too quickly in general, lol. I feel like to really use it you need to keep multiple stacks of fuel in your inventory.
liquid biofuel burns really really slow
I only keep 100 on me for like 5 days now and I've burn like.. 14
and since the server hard resets, trees and stuff come back
so it's sustainable to use over time
Fair. I don't think we had liquid biofuel when I really tested it. I believe we were still on solid biofuel and it burned through it incredibly quickly.
Plus in general I wasn't a fan of the jetpack because you only get a short burst of thrust before it has to recharge, which wasn't good for covering distances.
yeah solid sucks, liquid is awesome
you gotta try it
it'll totally change your opinion of the jetpack
also, can you tell when I started to sink rocket fuel?

these still randomly show up.. 😦
Oh so the ones that instantly kill you are still around but not the ones that actually give stuff?
Ah, nice.
We've been producing snowballs for weeks
for our inevitable battle
with the ender dragon

we have like 30k
I'm pretty sure in actuality there's more problems with space elevators in theory than just the weight to strength ratio of the materials.
it would tear out of it's morings
the spinning of the earth can't drag something like that
Yea.
It's the kind of thing that is really cool in sci-fi, but physics doesn't agree with it at all.
What would you even do with that many?
sweet
There's a group that made a global rail system
I added it to the server
so now we can build all over the place and ship supplies
Oh?
bunch of uh stuff I gotta fix though
