Weird to see Rogue lower ranked, since in regular D&D they can become insanely broken. Ranger is usually C tier.

I can agree with Druid being low though, they're a true jack of all trades

If you duel class a rogue into something like a ranger or assassin, they could potentially crit for like 60-120

sometimes more with certain weapons

in bg3, since we use 5e rules if you work at it you can ALWAYS crit

An adult red dragon has like 250 health

being able to sneak, crit, bonus action to hide again and then do hit it again next turn is silly

Bard was so bad in previous games and old d&d rules because they were wizards but with buffs. To compensate for that double nature, they got screwed on the wizard part and it made them great early game and terrible mid-late

5e made them top tier and larian kept it true

cleric will always be top

because you can just pick the right feats to make them paladins without the oath

I will say ranger dual classed into rogue is a better character than rogue

Magic in d&d can be insane so wizard/sorc makes sense
I'd swap paladin and fighter though

I dunno what's after the first area of the game so I'm basing this on my D&D knowledge and knowing how true to it Larian is keeping

someone apparently broke the game playing 4 druids

as a druid in wildshape you don't interact with people

it forces an NPC to do it

so I guess the game wasn't sure what to do with 4 bears or whatever they were

That instakill anything whose HP I drop to below my illithid level in a stealth crit rogue is nice

I found tactician to be fairly easy once I understood the game mechanics

Some levels are Ridiculously easy for example in the || goblin camp || you can run around and put explosive barrels next to the tough enemies

Fighter, cleric, rogue, wizard and you'll likely coast through the game

All of d&d is balanced around this team

So, the game's available on PS5 right now, so long as you preordered it. Not going to lie I'm enjoying it so far, but the combat difficulty feels a little too high for my tastes so far. I nearly had a party wipe on the first encounter after the ship crashed just because I'm playing a squishy mage and Shadowheart can't take a hit.

I really need to stop my loot goblin tendencies. I picked up a portrait of Fane from Divinity and didn't even realize it until I was trying to clear inventory up a little.

You have to save the gnome from the windmill and then recruit the gnomes in grymforge to your camp

Circuitry Interface: Grants the wearer advantage on all weapon attacks for the next 10 turns, once per short rest. You also have lightning resistance and are considered a construct during the duration.

it's not always, but 10 turns is more than enough for a battle

and it's per short rest

So basically you're screwed if an enemy spellcaster targets you, but you do some serious DPS since you miss less.

Though yea, in general the magic items in this game seem broken in the best ways, lol.

I stuck the arrow catching gloves on Gale, and he ended up basically stopping an attack every turn when we had to fight some undead archers, since they kept targeting him because he was the squishy wizard.

faerie fire and sleep is handy also

since you can pretty much put almost anythign to sleep after doing a little damage to it

Oof. First game over. Very nearly managed to kill the giant spider queen, but ultimately once she started attacking twice per turn it was too much. Got her down to 19 health. Guess I'll just come back later when I have another level or two.

Decided to try again on the spider despite me being able to use stealth to get the stuff of value. Also realized I could stealthily smash most of the eggs around so she couldn't call for as much aid. It went well.

Act 1 is all about learning 5e rules but the game just kind of hides 93% of it in the combat log

Well instead of focusing on the stuff the game wanted me to focus on, I jumped down into a hole and ended up in the underdark. It's been an interesting journey involving a lot of time spent unconscious in battle and talking to mushrooms outside of it.

I do have some gold, and I could maybe travel to the one or two merchants I've found to buy potions, though spending so much gold on respeccing, (and having to do so), is more trouble than just letting the NPC die.

I have like, 600 gold right now and that's because I just sold a bunch of stuff. Gale has kind of been eating my gold because I may or may not be wasting it all the time having him learn spells from scrolls.

if you intend to keep him through your whole run, that's not wasted gold

but early on it does eat into your available gold

In my current run, I respec'd laezel to a fighter with some wizard

and made her learn stuff

wizards can literally learn everything as long as you get a scroll for it

she's a fighter with a ton of utility xD

There's a lot of steps

you need to have found what's her name for the vial, and the 2 outside near the stairs can be convinced to be on your side

and then you get the gnomes out of the way talking to them

and then they fight happens and you gtfo while the druegar fight

they shoudl win since they have a berserker and a solid ranged unit

I also recommend shoving people into the lava

they're still lootable

you could also remove a party member and hire a hireling

and get the cleric one

and then just switch back

after you use them to heal 🙂

or better yet, the bard

as they should level up to your level

so that's a free short rest at level 2 and healing spells

that's only like 100 gold

to hire, I think

Yea, I think I'll do that. I tried to go back to camp after saving him but before the cutscene triggered, but apparently until it triggers, it still counts as him being trapped. So he ended up dying and I lost out. So I just reloaded a save I made before I blew the stones up.

and you can use them in situations

though as long as you loot and steal everything you can, you'll have more than enough gold
