On PDX, there's a bunch of custom zoning types, and without wanting to insult the people that made them, bc i am very grateful they did, but they are kinda low hanging fruit.
Residential/Office Mixed zone, Medium density office for example are both zoning types where I do not understand why they aren't in the base game.

Same with commercial/office mixed zone, although that one isn't available as a mod afaik.

Also: If at all possible, there should also by a type of office buildings with multiple companies. Larger Office buildings where a company occupies a floor or two.

Then there's the issue with employment numbers. Does it really make sense for some 25 story office tower with a 6x6u footprint to only have 300 to 400 employees when a residential building with similar dimensions has double that number in households alone, let alone actual capacity?
worked at a place with a similar footprint, but only 6 stories and that company had 600 employees.
Office workers, facility maintenance, cleaning, reception, management, security, things add up real fast and if you have 40000m^2 of floor space, then having only ≈400 employees seems kinda excessive doesn't it?

both cs1 and cs2 are live-development games that encourage the use of mods and custom assets to personalize your game experience, so there is no need to do everything themselves and cram it into the base game

i have explained plenty of times that

  1. Allowing mods doesnt mean you should let the modders do your job
  2. Theyre the one charging 50 bucks, not the modders
  3. By that logic, the game could just be declared abandonware because modders can fix it
  4. Why does the game have anything at all? they couldve given a basic frame and PDX mods, turned the game into an open source project.
  5. Whats this channel for? everything can be a mod.
  6. Consoles will not be getting code mods so the whole "mods should do it" completely falls apart
  7. Core mechanics being limited should not be left to modders to fix.

and, modded game means unstable to play, sometimes you loaded up the savegame, it's just crashed, and your savegame probably ruined, bye bye works for 10 to 100 hours progress, you have to rebuild 1 new city now, and next time you load the savegame, it's just crashes again and again, can you count on the modders could revive your broken savegame?

yes, modders can make game better, but something have to be done by the game developers, that's the reason you paied for right? to buy a full functioning game

modders creating free content to the game, but not everything the modders can do, the devlopers create the base content first, modders improving them like creating new ideas, changing the values, or fixing them for temporary until the developers officially fix the problem, that's how the things should be like

the current economy is fine there are realistic occupancy mods that fix this if you want but this game does not claim to be 100 percent realistic and most players are fine with the sacrifices made for gameplay

And Im imagine to have something come with mix type looking and only 1 or 2 grid wide, 1 to 3 story high, like medium row house, as compact mix buildings (or maybe not mixed), they got low capacity so you can build in a small city or town, don't need to worry about the horrible traffic cause that won't bring too many cims and cars move in and commuting unless you got al lots of buildings in one place.

Not sure if industrial need that, maybe for the storage units and workshops? but very well to have some modern and generic looking low capacity residential, the row house with private parking garage at front door, which is very common in my country, or the villa, the ocean view, even the rental or apartment for less than 5~10 households, all kinds of commercial, specially for tourism like the small inn or something, and office buildings for small company and studio, also the mixed with commercial or residential or office but just more smaller, and lower than the existing

and plus the garage, new parking facility for backyard and alleyway, maybe cims storage their old stuffs inside or just parking their cars?

And all of them could got simple looking without too many polygons and props, which can make things simpler, having a simple looking city, I'm dream about to seeing these new buildings, better be done by the co but if there's not, I might try to make some with my personal taste, I can also make garages or storage units become modular so you can just design a layout on the empty site and plop the single garage 1 by 1, in your own style, or just a big one, with the built-in paths, like the big parking lot.
