As the City of Cooper expanded it became clear that there needed to be a freeway built between Moreton and Cooper, allowing workers to travel between the two industrious and increasingly populous cities of the county.

Work quickly got underway to build the freeway starting with a major intersection to the already exisisting circuit freeway around the City of Moreton.

It was one of the larger infrastructure projects of the time consisting of many bridges and intersections while connecting the two cities.

As the Port of Cooper was established so too was the freeway around it and the suspension bridge.

It was a large project that required the freeway to be built in sections from Moreton, passed the Port of Cooper and out into the Cooper Desert. This was done while the suspension bridge and the port were still being built.

After a few years of construction the suspension bridge was complete and the freeway opened for traffic. This brought huge amounts of trade to the City of Cooper as traffic arrived from the City of Moreton and out of the county from all over the nation.
