Export them to space after you unlocked the space building.

Does trash not already get exported?

I've noticed I only handle 1/10th of my city's trash, but nobody's been complaining about it.

Really? Cuz I've been having the exact opposite problem. Too much trash and EVERYBODY is complaining about it
