Unoriginal name I know.

This is how my city looks now (after restarting to better use road hierarchy). My city's main industry is agribusiness, though enough of it is used locally that forestry is a close second in exports. The area closest to the fields and forests is suburban/small-town/village, though there are subway lines that connect the suburbs to the green industry because most of the "streetcar suburbs" work there (which though medium density, is a bit car dependent because it's not mixed use at all). A new mixed-use development of upscale green retail, medium density residential, and medium density commercial is under development. With less undeveloped greenspace and many more workplaces, the newest development is the densest yet. However, the coast line will eventually feature the touristy downtown.

I'm using a few mods but this city has only 1 custom asset so far.

Another angle of my mixed use development and a birds eye view of the zones. As you can see, the mixed use development is at least 1/2 commercial, with the rest being residential, offices, and services.

I expanded the mixed use medium density district but moved most of the offices to the new development (which also has wall-to-wall commercial, everything with 8m gaps). I also took a screenshot of the forestry district after realizing I never grabbed a good one.

Here is a screenshot of the industrial traffic. There are 4 shortcuts for supplying the specialized industry with crops, freeing up more of the freeway for imports and exports

I really love pedestrian roads without zones!

More expansions. The unzoned corner (right under chirper) will be financial offices. Then I will put IT offices to the other side of the freeway on the same (currently undeveloped) island as the future financial sector.

Here's a day shot of the majority of the city

Here is the newest area and the next planned development (Finance to the NE, IT to the NW, Tourism and Leisure near the beach to the south, and Residential to the East (and a bit of residential sprinkled throughout the outskirts of Finance and IT)

Overview of the whole region as of my last save

Riverton's metro usage increased from about 1000 to over 7000 thanks mostly to increased capacity (bigger and more frequent trains) on its busiest lines

Adding an extension increased metro usage to 8000 passengers per week.

Population now in excess of 600k
