Deathclaws are FEV experimented creatures created from exposing Jackson Chameleons to FEV. Most of the deadly "radiation" creatures in the show/game are actually FEV experiments. Super mutants obviously, centaurs are like a mix where humans/animals are exposed to FEV in vincinity so they merge/hybridise.
Psykers. Fire Ants etc. Cazadors aren't FEV but DNA splicing by Doctor Borous. There aren't a lot of dangerous creatures that are "naturally" created with radiation it's mostly humans who have fucked up the wasteland with experiments

Rewatching the episode and the close up on the deathclaws head on the beginning is legit a seamless mix of a practical puppet and cg enhancement, you can see all the tiny surface details a proper living reptile that size would have. But I guess if they didn’t absolutely nail it people would have crucified them for it
