The cure quest isn't that bad.

There's literally no real reason to become a vampire in Oblivion, unlike Morrowind.

You get Eltonbrand through vampirism in Morrowind, which is one of the best weapons in the game.

Ok, trying to make Black Soul Gem is a pain in the fucking ass.

I just duplicated them so I don't need to do it again.

You have to stand like fifty meters or so away from the altar and look quite a ways up so you can see the beam.

If you're too close you can't see it.

And if you're looking at the altar you also can't see it.

Keeps all of the best parts of the original and expands upon them, while giving it a fresh coat of paint

Aside from some iffy optimization and the occasional magic visual bug from time to time, it's nigh perfect

Honestly the magic visual bugs don't bother me much, and I'm pretty sure the traversal stutter is just UE5, had the same problems with Marvel Rivals

And lighting when leaving a instance or a town, takes maybe 2 seconds to correct itself

That's a thought I had. I'm curious if the remake removed that terrible staggering mechanic the original game had where no matter how much you blocked you would still be staggered and the animation itself would be horrendously long, this made the combat very drawn out in oblivion because the NPCs always would block and even when attacking they can still stagger you, sometimes knocking you over, bows also could stagger you which was ridiculously frustrating

Its why is just easier to use spells to knock NPCs to the ground and then swipe at then with your melee weapon, not giving them the chance to block or attack. It's cheap tactic sure but with the horrible swordplay of Oblivion you sorta had too

(I've only played a bit of the remake and haven't been able to fully test if staggering is worse or better in it)

Finished the main story and slept for 2 weeks to get the Armor. Never played the OG Oblivion so my thoughts are I really enjoyed the main story but I wish it was longer. Guess thats 2006 for you. Time to jump into the side quests then the DLC. But a tad disappointed the Dragon Armor is still inferior to my Umbra Ebony Armor

If you’re looking for a decent sized home for a modest fee with no fame or disposition requirements, my go to is always Benirus manor

It’s a haunted dump at first but after you do the quest affiliated with it, it’s all cleaned up, a little dark but cozy and tidy, down in Anvil

Don’t gotta pay for extra furnishings at the general goods merchant either as you normally would for furnishings

Just gotta exorcize a lich from the basement alongside his ghostly brood and bam good as new

Marauders tend to be a good source of better heavy armour, as their armour is leveled.

Marauder bosses tend to have the best heavy armour available to you.

While Bandit bosses have the best light armour available.

Usually one or two pieces will be current level.
