#lower diamond prices

Always a valid piece of feedback, but perhaps it would be useful to hear your pricing suggestions and reasoning? As someone who has worked in gaming I will say businesses are much more likely to take note if there is a well structured reason and a solid suggestion.
Much Bear love ❤️
I have another suggestion that being Change the amounts or prices of things in store as currently the store is designed for you to slightly not afford an item with a certain pack requiring another small purchase
I was going to suggest they changed the gold officer packs too because i find i always have 300 gold or 320 and have to wait another day for either daily win bonus or daily mission
This is something I would like to see. Buuut I know the "industry trend" powered by some very expensive actual research from sales analytics, is that you want people to have odd currency left over as it increase the likelyhood of "respend" by something like 20% (iirc but its been a while). Same logic with "non whole unit" costs on purchases.
Not saying anything about the morals/ethics/views on this. But I think it's relevent info that we need as players to understand. As we are prone to forget that any bussiness needs sooo much confidence to go against the proven methods.
I’m not home but once I get on my pc I can explain better. But definitely adding a more free to play aspect to where you can buy the pack with gold and diamonds I understand it can be free to play but you don’t get enough diamonds to get the pack u want in time
can they just make it so you can purchase a specific amount of diamonds required for a pack instead of this shady dark pattern system that requires players to overpurchase diamonds
like devs, if you read this, both of us know exactly what you're doing, and both of us know its just a dark pattern
i don't know why an indie studio is supporting this industry disease of manipulative design
Yes also a good idea a system to where you can put _ number and buy that amount
and before someone comes in trying to justify "oh but google play/apple appstore won't allow custom amounts"
xsolla does, and the implementation isn't hard, now that apple/google play allow third party websites for payment, and client users can have it integrated into the game
The main problem with monetary purchase in this game I'd say is that the price isn't adjusted regarding respective regions like steam, so before that can be done it is better that the price is lowered towards the average income of players via mode nation
i can get why they don't want to adjust for regional pricing
people abuse the fuck out of it
well that's for big companies like steam who got enof ppl doin that, but generally speakin id say regional pricin makes it better for most of the normal players
and even steam is still better off with so many ppl abusing regional pricin than no regional pricin at all
well even if not standard im arguin that the prices in shop should be lowered to the mean income of players or via the mode nation that players are in, so that majority of the players can afford
but i do think regional pricin is gud in general to maximize every regions' players' payment in game
yeah, but then the devs get less money
not necessarily since more ppl can afford and willin to afford
this depends on the game, and its debatable
also, devs lose a LOT of money from people exploiting the shop
it is, but u cant just say they get less money
on average, they do
well there can always be a minimum to the price for a minimum profit, but set it higher for regions that can afford better
any stats?
i can't disclose source, but i know of a few games internal data that shows the cost of regional pricing
2/3 of the games have cancelled regional pricing due to it
one of them kept it after investing a shitload into enforcing geoblocking
its not worth it for an indie dev
also, the other issue is grey markets
spawns people sharing accounts in order to buy shit at a lower price from a seller
this was a serious issue as well
lower prices does mean lower profit
where's the stats for that?
remember that most of the game's sales come from whales who spend a lot
whales do not really care how much the price is, as long as they can get the in game currency
but maybe im wrong
kards is a mobile game with gambling mechanics tied to it
technically a gacha
well ik but uk wut i meant by those other games
i see then
F2P market is sustained by whales, so if you drop regional pricing, the whales who used to spend X amount of money now spend less
kards might have a less top heavy economy, but I would bet at least 60% of the income comes from 10% of the players
or maybe even less players
ive seen games where 70% of income comes from 5-10% of players depending on time of year
well, quarter
this game would benifit from discounts in the cash shop
there's a severe lack of discounts on diamonds
that's a nice idea
would probably drive spending if devs implemented more time limited discounts for diamonds and packs for real money
yea f2p barely get any diamonds
i feel like that could be openned a new suggestion for ppl to discuss and for devs to see
well it's an indie comp so maybe they just put the idea and programmin aside for other more important things?
tho they always come up with bad combos for whales who did pay diamonds all the times so idk maybe they didn't think of it even, it's an indie after all
its an indie studio with a funny amount of dark patterns in their UI
can't really tell if its Hanlon's razor or if its just them flat out knowing what they're doin
like, for instance, weekly crate not telling you the exact amount of progress required
its just a fucking bar
no numbers
oh yea that could be one
how much do these give?
Fuck if i know, since the devs don't want players finding out
or they r lazy and slapped the feature with nowhere to put numbers
i think they might be adjustin the progression speed and numbers all the times so they cant have a specific number
no, this is deliberate
if they're adjusting dynamically, that's another dark pattern
It went into a lot of detail and complexity yeah for sure. Most of what’s been discussed is pretty much relevant tbf.
The mechanics of balancing a game are a thing
Bear are you a dev for this game or is that only people with the 1939 role
Yeah I just gave up on this topic lol
I woke up to 80 messages and was like ok then
I’m not a dev. Nor employed by 1939x I’m a content creator and also outside of Kards have worked in and been around various types of games primarily table top and know folks in the digital gaming space
I’d need huge seed funding and access to a team of skilled professionals. Making games that succeed is immensely expensive and investors are very nowadays with physical cards
Well u could make the rough layout with paper or canva
Then show it to a team and if they like it give them a percent of all sales on the game
Instead of paying in full
Bluntly unless it pays the hours aren’t worth the time. Developing a CCG, a good one, would take about 2 years at minimum.
Ah well you can always do it in your free time but are you gonna stream tonight?
I’ve made 4 suggestions and it seems like 3-4 people like
Like 3-4 of the ideas
My stream already happened I’m afraid it’s 21:30 here.
I’m a little too experienced to be willing to work in tabletop or game design without a fixed value. Making a CCG in that time frame is a 70+ hour a week job. Most folks have no idea how much is actually involved until they try.
I’m not saying you gotta make a full card game but u can make a fun one where u can play with friends or family
I mean you can make a good card game with just a deck of cards
This sort of thing I’ve done a lot back in my early twenties. And it can be fun. North of 40 and living as disabled the time just isn’t available, or at least I’m using it for content and stream work here and some other bits and pieces
Xsolla my beloved
Biggest thing stopping me from spending more money on this game is that there isn’t a truly “micro” aspect to these transactions. Bar of entry is $5 for a handful of diamonds. I want to spend $1 for a pack and be done with it for the day.
Battle pass is nice I def would’ve done that when I was a newer player with not very many cards
@toxic thunder Unfortunately, the game is not worth a cent.
You play with your cards, you don't think. Balance is a foreign word here.
The thinking comes in the deck building part and it’s quite entertaining when updates shake up the meta so that players can redefine optimal deck compositions… meta feels quite diverse rn actually. So, skill issue?
It's. A huge money grab. Greedy.
I'd be more willing to buy if it was cheaper.
Gacha WW2 Card game
