maybe the animation time is also a part of balance? some mechanisms takes up higher animation time in the limited amount of time per turn, so it's strength may be restricted?

I don't know if the developer really considered this, but in fact time resource is also valuable in kards game, like chess. Players need to evaluate the board, calculate kredits and planning the strategy in a limited amount of time, so the fact that animation will take away a part of this time means it will actually affecting the game balance, despite the intention of its designer.
