#Why dropping the 10 gold for 3 wins is a bad idea...

I understand 1939 is doing this to help maintain the gold economy, but it makes for less incentive to play

Personally, if I'm close to getting the 300 gold necessary for an Officer's pack, I'll extend my playing session, knowing a few wins will get me to my target. I'm sure it's the same for those getting close to a Base pack (100 gold). If I'm not close, I'll end my session early to wait for the 50 gold 1st win to reset the next day. Getting rid of the 10 gold for 3 wins, will definitely cut down on players playing the game, hence longer wait times.

Instead of scrapping it entirely, how about a compromise of either:

10 gold for only the FIRST 3 wins of the day (nothing after)
OR
10 gold for every 5 wins (instead of 3 wins)

It's just nice to have some incentive to keep playing beyond the 1st win (skirmish is messed up for this same reason as well)
If preserving the economy is important, I'd be all for removing the free card for visiting the Shop (seems unnecessary)

10 gold for three wins is so little that it's ridiculous that we're even having this discussion. It's like 1939 saying "this breadcrumb you can occasionally have is too much, we're taking it away. Also, we're raising the prices". Do they think exploitation vibes will make them into a corporation?

I’m sure that the 10 gold over 3 games has been looked at as across the board, something like 10k+ players daily, avg wins of 6 wins or something, 20 gold = 200k+ gold handed out daily. Include the first win of the day, missions, and nation rewards, and that’s a lot of scratch to miss out on. Million+ gold a week and I don’t blame 1939 for changing what they can. I completely agree that a replacement to incentivize playing for wins is a really good idea, even necessary

I understand the company’s reasons to tighten up their gold handouts, as that is potential revenue. That’s all I’ve tried to say.

Yeah, I'd be with jzavitz if I didn't already not care. I'm going to continue playing the decks that I enjoy playing. If I stop enjoying the game, I stop playing.

#

But the more they try and turn this into a skinner box, the more likely I'll be to just walk away. If I'm not enjoying the matches, I won't play, reward or no reward

yeah i dont expect them to cater to f2p people, they gotta make a profit somehow

#

but at the same time dont expect me to stick around if the game is too grindy

#

people like me leaving increases queue times at least

Another idea would be diminishing returns. 10 gold for 1st 3 wins of the day. Then for 4 wins, then 5 wins, etc. It would still help economy while incentivizing longer play sessions (although limited)

Seems fun. I only need 1289 wins for my next 10 gold

I would reset every day of course 😀

with the mission + the daily victory award + progression bonus you can rather quickly make some budget deck but yeah having the whole collection can take a lot of time (i played the game since a year and a half and have 80 % of all the card)

for me the crate mechanics need to be redesign

# lyric lion Thanks for the hate

Thanks for taking the the side of a company that is making millions but constantly keeps changing the game payment mechanics for their own greed. You must work for them.

I miss the gold too but as I said I understand why a company would make that decision. I also said that there should be be a replacement incentive.

Also this is a digital card game. I like to play it when I have a couple spare minutes but not a couple hours to play a larger game. Making it grindier just makes it more frustrating.

#

If I can get some more gold as a reward for wins that makes the game more fun and in the grand scheme of things doesn’t hurt the company.

The unlimited three gold didn’t feel like that much of a boon. I wasn’t raking in crazy amounts of money but it was enough to encourage a few more games. Officer pack is 330 gold, A daily is 50 and first win is twenty I think. So you can easy get 70. So then assuming you win every game you would need to win 87 sets of three games. (I might have done that math wrong). For one officer pack which sometimes doesn’t even drop stuff you want.
