#Long Range Desert Group Broken?

Sorry, am I missing something here, or is this British Elite Card just broken?

When this sentence gets attached to any of the Commandos or the** Inniskilling Fusiliers** it seems MASSIVELY OP! Basically a board clear (random shots being fired everywhere and killing all the enemy units), with very little opportunity for counterplay.

For balance purposes, should the sentence better read: "When this unit attacks and deals damage to a unit, destroy it."? Thanks.

Yes you are missing something

Good luck trying to keep your commandos alive for this to get enough value

#

And good luck trying to keep them alive afterwards

I've seen LRDG pop off before.

I was playing Legions with barely any removal.

It can pop off

#

But is it broken? Absolutely the fuck not

Also people don't really play Inskilling. I comprise of 80% of the mention of the word "Inskilling" in this server so that says a lot.

#

But yeah
Commando with Cup of tea still dies to FTP

#

They die horrendously to any backline nukes

#

They die to... soviet mind control.

Long Range Desert Group looks amazing when it works but Shelling for instance is much more consistent

Keeping your units alive to make value for that card is highly no bueno considering your going to late game and boy there are a lot of 5-6K removal option for it

also Inniskilling Fusilier itself is very situational and having good combos is fine

#

I think if you wanna touch something in commando decks, some of the super strong elites like Monty and Shelling, or Crusader which is an insane draw engine. 🤔 (although without Crusader it might fall apart)

Honestly crusader is the only thing keeping it intact. That deck needs so many draws lol

Yea LRDG is not OP at all, commandos requires too much setup. You need the commando units themselves, plus you need cup of tea to make them not die to a gentle breeze, plus you need crusader for draw after playing a bunch of low cost cards, plus you need honey to work towards CW because commandos themselves aren't enough to close out a game, then you start getting into awkward situations where you have honey and crusader and cup of tea but not commandos, so it's better to just play it out but then your commandos will just die as soon as you play them later on. All in all it is very difficult to get value out of LRDG

OK, got it
More removal and don't let it get there. Thanks 😀

Just seen this about 3 times now and it's pretty much game over when the card comes out
I do agree, my decks could have used more removal

what rank are you playing at and what decks are you facing?

#

or rather what are you playing i guess

Field Marshall, playing around with a lot of different decks right now, non-Meta, to get a feel for all the different playstyles

#

fluctuating 1950-2150... I think I need to stick with more Meta rather than experimenting to see better results

strong harness
#

Can you give some specific examples? Because yeah commandos does not do well in the current meta

wispy veldt
#

Playing with some Ger/Jap and Jap/Ger Burn Decks lately

#

Not much removal

strong harness
#

Is that a unit based deck? Sounds like just jaggro

#

Commandos is actually playable into jaggro, just the current brit-jp air meta makes it unplayable because it is an auto loss

#

brit air already does well into commandos because of its high hp 1 drops and how fast it can dish out dmg, but jp ally just makes it an unwinnable matchup with air sup, aichi, even surprise attack from type 90 something tanks paired with monty/shelling

different... trying a combo of early jaggro units, followed by direect burn (lightning strikes, propoganda, mito, etc)

strong harness
#

interesting, well usually LRDG shouldn't be a problem for jaggro as most of their units are low hp anyways. Commandos takes a while to set up and really pop off as I mentioned, so most aggressive decks can overwhelm it before they get a chance to set up

#

For your deck it sounds like you would be more concerned with commandos setting up honey with crusader for a lot of healing (though interestingly enough your lightning strikes can offset that)

Commandos into jaggro is a pretty good matchup imo

strong harness
#

Fair I haven't played commandos much recently because of the unholy amount of britjp air

latent ridge
#

depending on what ally you run frontline and jaggro and stuff are pretty good matchups for commandos

stable crater
#

Jaggro is usually light on removal and commandos is heavy on heal, so I consider it favored for commandos

the pings are really good at killing jaggro units too
