#I'm newish to vocals, I think my voice still sounds thin and whiny in areas, any advice/directions?

if I had to say anything I’d say to try to sing with clearer pronunciation and tone to have that in your repertoire as well
but gorgeous tone in both your chest and head voice and pretty good pitch as well
My biggest piece of advice for you would be that everyone thinks they sound bad when they compare themselves to songs, cus are produced. So only compare yourself to realistic standards, otherwise you get frustrated and possibly even hurt
Here the biggest issues are slurring words, and pitch. You are doing amazing not locking yourself into chest or head voice, but you gotta work on getting the breath pressure just right for each note so they land right on the pitch
