when creating a new world, for some reason, if say you already have maps created/saved, it doesnt create a new map, like for example:
if i have 50 worlds, you would assume that it would save the new world as world 51. well for some reason, it keeps saving atleast up to world 5, where for this new save, it saved as world 5, even though there already was a world 5 present. in which the world save folder had some files from previous saves of world 5, and somehow on the save version, there was edited chunks spawned into the world, in which the world stats are a fresh start, where as the auto save version has nothing on the world+ World save folder was clear...in which case the new save of world 5 was already almost 15mb
#creating new worlds doesn't actually create a new world

i can't reproduce. what were the contents of folder 000005 BEFORE saving the new world at the end?
wait
1sec
yeah i think its the picture above
i think @autumn shale is having the same issue, where part of his old map is loading into a new map as well
i was on his map yesterday, and the bottom right area of a prev map was loaded into the new map that we was on
im gonna throw a hunch out there, and say that either:
maps that were created from 360
or
a map folder from 360 (if that is even a thing)
or
either maps created/saved before the beta
or the maps folder
and/or either of those, will cause this bug to happen
im gonna say that its possibly the 1st one though, because i think that when in the start up menu when i created a whole new folder, and started to save maps, i dont think it had this issuwe
*issue
so i just tested a new saves folder, and it doesnt have the bug issue
so maybe its older maps, either before the beta or on retail has this issue
it doesn't even look inside the folder, it just gets all folder names and finds a # that isn't used. so it wouldn't matter whether the maps are old or not, because the contents don't matter. all that matters is whether the folder exists or not.
did 000005 exist before starting the game?
yep
there is a case where you can create a new world, add some stuff, it auto saves while you're doing that, then you quit withOUT saving, so the auto_save folder is there, but not the normal (number only) folder. if you then create another new world, it will reuse that folder number and the auto_save of the old world is still there, but those contents don't get loaded. so i dunno.
