If you leave it in rest mode, you haven't actually closed the game. You need to close the game/restart the game for dives to update

It does. You should be able to download your save by going into the in-game Options menu, then selecting Save Menu, then selecting Restore Save. It should let you load a PS4 save.
Be aware that this only works in one direction, moving from the PS4 version to the PS5 version. You can't take the save backwards from PS5 to PS4

If you're having trouble finding people to finish the mission with, you can start the mission in Solo mode with Bosco to help you. He's pretty much the most reliable teammate you could ever ask for, and with the right difficulty selected, any mission is doable solo

He can have 4 revives and also do lightning damage to suppress enemies. He can fetch eggs, etc

Find the 3 liquid morkite wells, they're loud and spewing bluish smoke. You'll get a prompt to request a pump jack when you're close to the well.

Then, build a pipeline from the rig to the pump jack. You'll get a prompt to start a pipeline from 3 glowing points along the side of the walkway around the rig. The glowing points are located between the ramps. You'll layout a frame for the pipe section by section, and then you'll have to complete the pipe by building each section. Bosco should be able to help you build if you use your Laser Pointer and click it on the pipeline frame.

Playing as Driller can be very helpful, as MrBlue mentioned, since you can often drill a path to from the rig to each pump jack to make it easy to build the pipes

And, if you are still looking to group up instead of going it alone, you can post in the #lfg-playstation channel to find a group who might be able to help

Just had a Kursite infection that just DIDN’T spawn the final enemy needed so it forced me to fail the event LOL

We've had them spawn entirely too far away when the cave is a little weird and the event location is in just the wrong kind of place. Oh, and Steeve can sometimes go off on a killing spree which can sometimes pull the Kursite-infected critters off to goodness knows where...

Suffice to say, Kursite Infection can sometimes be unexpectedly challenging

When you unlock the alternative weapons, you might feel differently. And when you start getting Overclocks, they can really change a lot about a weapon

Melee on Deep Rock is mostly limited to the regular pickaxe swing like you would do for mining -- which works to finish off a grunt or some swarmers, but generally doesn't do a lot of damage -- and the pickaxe power attack which does a good bit of damage but is on a good bit of a cool down.

However, you can sometimes drink a beer at the bar in the Space Rig which improves your melee stuff.
Skull Crusher Ale boosts your pickaxe damage, and Slayer Stout reduces the pickaxe power attack cool down so you can use it more frequently.

You can use Driller's drills for melee damage, but you'll probably run out of drill fuel rather quickly if you're foregoing using your ranged weapons.

Deep Rock is definitely focused on being a shooter, with melee as a fun little bonus

There are some on-going connection issues that are not affecting everyone -- so theyve proven difficult to find and fix -- but if you're experiencing them there's a couple things to try.

Quick things to try:

• Reboot console.
• Reboot router.

However, there are some issues that have only been resolved by switching your connection type. For example:

• If you are using wifi, switch to ethernet.
• If you are using an ethernet cable, switch to wifi.

I know it doesn't make a ton of sense, but so far everyone who has tried switching connection types have reported resolving their connection issues.

That’s why I tend to nuke a bit early, the radiation damage is the big thing. Plus, if you have extras you can just launch one at a mineral vein on the wall, and mine it all instantly, thus speeding things up, and because you’re going faster less bugs will spawn 🤝

The devs are based out of Denmark, so Jesper will likely be offline and unable to get back to you until tomorrow. In the meantime, I don't have a PS5, so I can't verify what I've found online, but the following sounds like it should be what you're looking for to me:

Disabling the DualSense controller's built-in microphone so that it isn't enabled by default is relatively easy to do from the console's Settings:

- Go to the PS5 home screen.
- Click on Settings (small gear icon in the top right corner of your screen).
- Click on Sound.
- Click on Microphone.
- Ensure that the Input Device is set to Microphone on Controller.
- Head down to the option which reads Microphone Status When Logged In.
- Set this option to Mute.

And that's it! You've configured the mic to be off by default whenever the console is switched on.

Just look at the controller. If that light below the PS logo button is off, the mic is on. Hit the button (don't hold it, it will mute ALL audio, including the game).

As long as you see the light on, the mic is muted. If it's off, they can likely hear ya (unless your headset has an extra on/off switch too)

It's not like it can't ever happen, but it's probably not too likely to happen.

The game uses peer-to-peer networking, with the connections established by each platform's own multiplayer network, and it relies entirely on local storage and on the cloud storage available via each platform. There are no servers to handle cross-platform play or cross-platform progression.

The devs would have to add servers to handle the data and create a DRG account system just to facilitate cross-progression, since the platforms cannot inherently communicate with one another. It's likely that the feature isn't necessary for the vast majority of players. It would require significant resources for a feature that likely few would use

Well, it is always possible they add more weapons and/or overclocks, so perhaps that's why there's not something specific. I can only speculate, but they have added additional weapons, and thus overclocks, since the overclock system was first added to the game, so finished wasn't really finished in the long run

And, while cosmetics are, for the most part, less practical than the weapon overclocks, now you can work through those quicker as you'll get more blank cores from the Weekly Core Hunt and Deep Dives (blank cores given in place of weapon cores) to use in machine events

If you have PS Plus and you have uploaded saves to the cloud or have auto-backups turned on (automatic cloud backups are off by default), then you should be able to use the in-game Options menu, select Save Menu, and then select Restore Save. This should give you a list of available cloud backup saves you can use to restore your progress

I only got the game yesterday so my sampling experience is limited but I've had good luck with randoms so far. Leveled the engineer to 12 and in that time I've met 3 groups that actively co-operated and consulted each other for mission choices. Out of those 3, one even invited me to party chat. Of the rest of the groups I've played with, the worst thing that's happened is the inability to complete a mission that was too hard, so nothing dramatic really. I'd say having teammates that use voice chat probably becomes more essential as you progress to more difficult objectives/hazard levels. But the psn community seems very active, never any difficulty finding a mission yet.

It's a very minor miner feature, only available on the Steam version. It was added in a prototype-like state, and offers no actual content, so it's not really something that's missing in the console versions. Basically, you select one of three unions to belong to, and about once a month or so you get a few bonus credits and minerals based on arbitrary goals you have essentially no control over. The bonus is typically no more than you'd get just from doing a couple of missions, if I recall correctly

Because DRG relies on peer-to-peer connections, you can't migrate the host because it would require every player connected to the host reestablish a whole new network connection to the new host, and DRG is not designed with this capability. This is also why if a host ends the game or gets disconnected, the session will always end for everyone connected to them

A question.. I got DRG through ps plus, I’m not planning on to continue with this subscription so if I buy the game after ps plus runs out, I should have my game progress too, right?

I also play on PS4, so when I move to ps5 in future I can’t copy the save because I don’t have cloud saving without ps plus, and ps5 doesn’t have the copy save files through usb feature iirc? So can I just buy a month of ps plus then and download the saved files on my ps5 because I have really high rank and I don’t wanna just start all over again 😦

What’s the best way to grind for overclocks?

You can get one random weapon overclock per week from the completing the second stage of a Deep Dive and Elite Deep Dive for the first time each week. Then you can get one more per week from the Weekly Core Hunt assignment. (You'll also get up to three blank cores by doing this, one for each first stage of Deep Dives and Assignment, which can be used in machine event completion rewards.)
Additionally, you can get a random weapon overclock from filling the Forge Mastery bar, but this alternates between granting a weapon overclock and a cosmetic core. You can also get an overclock from completing a promotion.

There are only two ways you can "grind" for overclocks: by grinding levels to complete promotions, and by finding and completing machine events. When you complete a machine event, you can use a blank core and you are given a random choice between weapon overclocks and cosmetic cores. Once you've run out of blank cores, though, you won't be able to get anything from the machine event. However, it's still worth finding machine events, because you get the machine event bonus XP simply from the event ending, regardless of if you succeed or fail the event. This helps with the level grind

If you have PS Plus and you have automatic cloud saves enabled, you can check the in-game Options menu, go to Save Menu, and select Restore Save. That will let you select any available cloud save files to restore so you can recover most, if not all, of your progress

No, Iron Will is always only one use per mission. It's incredibly situational, so a bit like wasting the slot, but whenever I need it I'm glad I have it, haha. Some of the clutch successes I've had because of it have felt great!

I got every single weapon overclock within 6 months of the game coming out on Playstation. Granted. I played a ton. But I'd say now, since promotions themselves aren't time gated like deep dives, you can get all overclocks even faster.

And then the added ability of being able to semi choose what overclock you want when going up every 2 levels in forge, I'd say new players have it good.

Get a few weeks of regular deep dives under your belt.

Get some overclocks. Learn the strengths/weaknesses of the classes. Find out what's fun for you. Then go from there.

Well... I noticed something with this update. Not game breaking, but annoying nonetheless. Seems looking around is "sticky". As in, when you're moving around, your view gets stuck to things as if you have auto snap/auto aim. I never had this happen before today. Tested with another controller to rule out a sticky right analog stick. Still happened. Tested remote play and it happened within remote play too.

I tested the character terminal in the drop pod. Ironically, your view sticks more to the terminal when using a lower sensitivity. Higher sensitivity, it's not as noticeable.

Wondering if anyone else is experiencing anything similar to this. It's annoying when I'm trying to just aim at bugs and my turning is slowed randomly

It should provide you with a couple of options. Or, I'm not sure how the PlayStation version handles it exactly, but the Xbox version offers you several save files in Restore Save and you can choose from any of them.
