i've heard setting --disable-modding as a launch option fixes mint though
right click on steam -> properties -> set launch option

Well if i remember when i first read up on guides to mint, there was a strong suggestion to using that launch option when playing with it, as it would avoid problems with the actual modding system in-game, so most probably followed that suggestion and thus it was not a major problem. I always ran the launch option just to be sure.
Then again i've not used mint in a while since i have to run the in-game modding for one of the mods I typically run in public lobbies.

every time i open drg now i have to re-enable all my mods, they no longer stay enabled between play sessions for some reason

i dont usually D1 hate things that any devs do but there literally isnt one good thing that came from it
i never saw what was wrong with the previous version, i never had crashes or anything conflicting, and it was simple and you could do it in the space rig instead of having to reload it every time you want to change something
hotswapping mods didn't work properly in the space rig
it would act like it did and some functionality just would not be there, or mods wouldn't get disabled and your game wouldn't display itself as modded

well it's not trying to hotswap, you leave the space rig entirely to edit mods
so the issue of mods not being enabled/disabled fully should be gone, or the issue of mods not loading quickly enough since they're loaded before the spacerig
right
though i haven't messed with the menu after the most recent hotfixes, something probably broke

Hi! After this newest DRG update whenever I try to mod with Mint it puts me into sandbox mode, even thought I have 0 sandbox mods that I'm using. Has anyone else experienced this? Any fixes yet?

It seems you need to agree to the "terms of use"
there is no option to do this. I've been playing for a month with mods and only now, this appeared since they made this update to "improve" for those who play with mods.
I also think I read somewhere that you could only edit mods in the launcher, not when in the space rig, hope it helps :/
There was an update and now we can edit and change only the start menu and this... Resulted in this situation.

The fix that has been working for my friends and who i helped yesterday is to make sure to put "-disablemodding" in your Launch Options in Steam. Hope that helps!

I got a chance to play today and looks like -disablemodding did the trick with MINT. I was able to still host just like before with all my mods.

i think i found the culprit: when shutting down the game it interprets it as a crash, so it disables them all

It really depends on what kind of mods you're looking for. Mods that add new content to the game are one that I really like going into.
Some great content mods include:
Massive Content Revise
Wrath of Hoxxes
DRG: Project Rebuild
Twitch Integration
pretty much any of the mods made by SGG too are awesome.
Many of these mods may not work well with each other, ESPECIALLY Project Rebuild, since it changes a lot of numbers around to make weapons/enemies better.
Gotcha, are visual only mods still accepted in general? Last I remembered you could do that but it's been ages since I tapped into the idea of mods on drg
as long as those visual mods are tagged as "Verified" then they only apply to you and do not have any effect to others. Like Googly-eyed glyhids or the popular "Brighter Objects" mod.

What in general is added with project rebuild?
Rebuild adds 4 new missions, like 50 enemies roughly, and reworks about everything to balance out the new stuff. Some new ocs too (but they replace others, but most are pretty good!), and new music for the added content.

Yeah. Rebuild is an example of an approved mod: one you can use with your normal save, but others who want to play with you must have the mod installed if required by all.

does anyone have a fix for DRG autodissabling all of my mods on every launch? not even just the ones that claim to be outdated, the game disables all of them after the latest update and its getting rather annoying. I'm too use to having auto sprint and b-hop just enabled by default, and first game of the session is always a mess for me now

I'm playing on a controller with steam input and I set the outer circle of left stick to L3 (left stick click) for sprinting
also 'sprint by default, hold shift to walk' mod doesn't work for me for some reason (I'm dumb, it is clearly stated that it doesn't work for controllers on the page)
(because every time I hit the sprint button while holding shoot, it stops shooting)

You need to put -disablemodding in your game launch options on Steam if you want to use MINT. You will also need to switch back to your regular save from the sandbox save since it sounds like you loaded into the sandbox.

well, removing mods from the game you just press Uninstall Mods on the MINT client
As for uninstall it, do the above first, then with MINT open, press the cog icon.
You will see Config Directory and Cache Directory with links to these folders. Click on these to open the folders
Then close MINT.
Delete the Config folder and Cache folder, then you can delete the drg_mod_integration.exe
Did you press Uninstall Mods on Mint, this removes that file
Otherwise, you can go to your game installation and delete it yourself
\Steam\steamapps\common\Deep Rock Galactic\FSD\Content\Paks and delete mods_P.pak
where are modhub keybinds stored? I'm trying to bind hotkeys to MB4/5 etc which modhub apparently doesn't natively support

Press properties
On the menu that appears there is a box at the bottom below the text that starts with "Advanced users"
Type in -disablemodding into it
Then when you launch your game you will need to switch back to your regular save rather than the sandbox one

so my mods arent appearing, and the mod menu seems to be loading and "fetching tos" (for 2 fucking hours and still nothing). even refreshing yields towards nothing (20489 - error occured making a HTTP)
ive done the usual unsubbing mods then deleting mod.io files yada yada, entering -disablemodding in the console, windows + r > renaming the mod.io folder in %localappdata%, verifying file integrity, reinstalling the game

sandbox saves can be made and used even if you don't have mods
they are just a flag on the savegame
my only guess for this is that mod.io is being blocked by your firewall
like the website works in browser but the game might be getting blocked

@wary gazelle yes updates could break mods but it depends what features mods touch and if the game update has changed them. The recent small patches should not affect any mods from working that were working previously on S5.
Many mods that are not updated to S5 still work, you just have to allow outdated mods.
@abstract thunder I would look at monitoring your power usage with some software while using your PC, or check event viewer if it shows you a reason for why your PC is shutting down

To be honest I’ve never heard of raidmax PSU I had computer custom built at a shop for 2,000 dollars several years ago but I’ve been upgrading things over time and PSU is only thing I haven’t upgraded/replaced since it’s been thru a few GPU upgrades over the years from GTX 1080 RTX 2070 Super RTX 3080ti to now RTX 4080 with same PSU of 1,000 watts and it’s over 9 years old plus I read online that raidmax PSUs are a fire hazard since they tend to cheap out on certain build quality and parts/features
I would not have put a 4080 with an unknown name brand PSU, that is asking for disaster

I don't have info on hand but software that can monitor power usage (I think hardware info does this?) you might be able to watch the power graph of your GPU and see if your PC turns off when it spikes
But every time that is happening you're risking it going wrong and destroying your hardware
Windows 11 has task manager to monitor GPU temperatures
I’m going to upgrade PSU anyway because signs of failing PSU on google ai states computer crashes and random restarts or black screens but also doing research on raidmax brand I’m surprised it lasted 9 years

@sand fern turns out at this time I also cannot make game invites while using verified mods, even though I am pretty sure I could in the past
I nailed down my problem to outdated mods
through trial and error I figured out all of the old ones (minus health and shield numbers, apparently) took away the option to... host entirely? with them enabled I didn't have the extra player slots show up
yet I was able to join other servers the entire time
I also figured nobody was able to join me because I played often while hosting a public lobby and nobody ever joined through a few dozen runs
it's confusing
I never tried inviting anyone to my lobbies so I wouldn't know
they join themselves via join game on steam
so maybe what the outdated mods do is make it so your lobby doesn't show up on the server list

that was meant to be raised to 100 afaik with the most recent modding updates
i say previously-ish because some people say they've had no problems hosting above 50

you have to press "Uninstall Mods" when using the drg mod integration (MINT) to remove the mods_p
alternatively, you can delete it yourself by going to game install location -> \FSD\Content\Paks and deleting mods_P.pak
the reason that is appearing is the recent update broke MINT a bit. But you can get it working again by putting -disablemodding into your game launch options on Steam and then you can use MINT again

I tried to play with friends last night after not playing for a few months and it wouldn't let people join my game because I had mods on (we've played together before with my mods) and when I tried to join other people's games it would say something about disabling my mods so I can join, only to then load into my own lobby again with all my mods still on. If I go to the info screen to turn off my mods I get stuck here. would appreciate any help!
try clicking the orange terms of use that is being obscured by the buttons, it will bring up a window for you to accept the terms

clicking anywhere except the buttons top right and the boxes top left just makes the lock and the whole terms of use sentence do a little bump but that's about it
restart game and immediately go to mods, see if the Terms of Use text is clickable

That's exactly it. This is a problem for everyone, which means the developers didn't even test the fix. They did something and immediately posted it without checking. Because I don't know how else to explain it.
The “fix” didn’t really do anything, it worked fine for 2 days and now it’s completely broken, let’s just hope our pleas are being seen by the devs.

i just restarted the game after a long break, and the game force me on a sandbox save because it doesn't like the location of my mods apparently.
I tries to unistall them and install them through mod.io, but it doesn't work for most of it. Some mods like default class icons just don't work, and i need to re-enable most mods after each restarts. plus, mod.io integration doesn't let me install the heat crosshair mod because "invalid endpoint"?
that was the kind of issues that made me use mint in the first place, but now the game auto add a mod named "MODS_P" marked as sandbox when i load mods with mint, so i'm forced into sandbox save.
you have to put -disablemodding in your game launch options on Steam before using MINT since recent update broke it
then switch back to your regular save if you loaded up a sandbox save

While the mods are down trough DRG, an alternative exist using MINT, a mod loader, searching the name or on google with provide you with further details and guides on how to use it, personally it's smoother for me than the ingame mod system they use. So youre just using another program to run your mods basically, they work trough MINT ;P

pressing Uninstall Mods on MINT should do it
otherwise you can go to your game install folder, then FSD\Content\Paks and deleting it there
but if the game is telling you that you have a deprecated mod called mods_P, and its asking you to go into a sandbox save, you just need to put -disablemodding into your game launch options on Steam and then MINT will work as normal

looking back in the channel this seems like it might be a more widespread issue right now but recently all my mods got disabled and when trying to redownload them a few select mods just broke and are completely impossible to download. DRGlib in particular is giving me the most trouble and keeps erroring with "Package invalid". i've tried wiping my mods folders, uninstalling and reinstalling, clearing all other mods, and some other miscellaneous fixes. is this an issue with some update the DRG devs pushed or an issue with mod.io?
DRG update and its implementation of the Modio API.
Modio itself has pretty much never caused issues other than when their servers went down or a yearly authentication token renewal.
Same here, I've also tried reinstalling DRGlib and Mod Hub, but it says pending or an installation error. At this point, I don't know what to do. I wonder if uninstalling the game and reinstalling it might be the solution.
Probably not, you'll most likely have to download the pak files manually and place them in their respective folders.
But I don't think normal Modio users can download the paks directly . .

No idea if editing anything like this would work or help.

there was a mod i used a lot, that worked as a sort of damage indicator, without numbers. As bugs became more damaged, they would turn red. Normal color = undamaged, slightly red = slightly damaged, half health, etc., and super red = about to die. It was really neat and I loved it, but since building my new computer and re-installing my mods, I cannot for the life of me find that one anymore. i don't know if it was just taken down from mod io or what, or if it just has a very funky name that I can't search up, but if anyone knows what I'm talking about or has a link to it I would be very appreciative

Is there a mod that gives stats to all cosmetic items? They often have a description and the looks give stats too.
Like a gas mask giving a percentage of gas immunity. From a bit to complete. But they may reduce stamina. Thick plates giving kinetic damage resistance. But too thick may impede movement. Fancy cosmetics luring in bugs or ward them a bit.
I would like this a lot. Would allow for creating loadouts for specific biomes or mission types better
With a climatized mk6 suit there could even be colder cave types that necessitate better equipment

no, its not just as simple as that when it comes to drg modding.
you want to replicate every event that gets fired on server/host and record all clients events. fine, there are tons, and many you can or can't read depending on if you're host or client. some don't exist at all because its locked away behind c++ or hardcoded into blueprints
then comes to the major issue of replaying those events. substantial parts of the game you cannot access to retrigger things you've recorded.
drg's modding is completely different to any other modding scene I've been in and it's not a good one. I've made a few mods over the year and the number of headaches that comes from it is not great. It's fun when something eventually works but you have to go in such a roundabout way it makes you disappointed knowing it could be done in 10 lines of c++ code, but the game does not support those mods
Is there a mod that separates the equipment loadouts from the cosmetic ones? It would be nice to be able to select an outfit to wear independently rather than changing outfits every mission when you choose a mission specific loadout
And while I could just save the same outfit to every loadout slot, it's also nice to have outfit options, especially for holidays

Try Combined Presets? I only use it for per-OC loadouts so I don't have to flip through the shitty six-per-slot limit but iirc there's a cosmetic tab in the mod.

I have used Combined Presets for a while, and yeah its great, though I was hoping to find a solution that would play nice with the 'Default Mission Loadout' mod that will auto equip a loadout that has a matching icon to the mission that was selected.
The issue (unless I am missing something) is that the Default Mission Loadout' mod selects the default in-game loadouts, which then also switches to the corresponding cosmetic loadout. So if I wanted to have say Christmas, and Halloween outfits saved, I can't easily swap to using them for all my equipment loadouts.
The somewhat tedious workaround I suppose is using Combined Presets to save outfits, and then running over to the wardrobe, and cycling through all the loadouts overwriting their outfit from the Combined Presets list each time I want to change outfits

So I'm not sure who can answer this. Does the PC gamepass version of the game put you into a sandbox save file? None of the normal indicators are there, and said mods don't get disabled when joining a public lobby. It doesn't seem like anyone expected the xbox versions could be modded i guess?
I've made progress (aka collected 50 gold) to update my save files, and it's not listed as sandbox, it's still main.

Mint bypasses the approval categories so you can use sandbox/approved mods on a normal save. This is the case for both Steam and Microsoft versions

- If you are using built in mod.io integration, players are prompted when they join you to download Approved/Sandbox mods if you are using them
- If you are using MINT (sideloader), then unfortunately you have to tell your players beforehand that they need to download the Approved/Sandbox mods

if you're using mod.io then MCR would require you to use a separate sandbox save so now you'll have two separate progressions.
Using a sideloader like MINT however means you can use MCR on your regular progression save, so you might want to make a separate save anyway if you don't want MCR affecting your progression

MCR is an approved mod so it would get used on your regular save. So it's up to you if you want to use it on your main save, or create a new save that you only play MCR on
Approved mods also stop you from getting achievements

so if they're still being shown when you check the modlist in the pause menu, that will be why

It was a solo mission, so I had Bosco as backup to kill it if I needed it
I did once, and it was because I didn't realise my power attack was still on recharge lmao
Haha, it happens all the time, I don't blame you. Although if you ever run into a cave leech cluster again, I'd recommend using the Shaped Shells overclock on your boomstick. It helps deal with the threat faster.

I have both my classic and boomstick specd for full damage though
So it works pretty much the same, except you're going to have to get a little closer with the boomstick if you want to do more damage to them

Also voltaic stun sweepers are really useful, I can use one to stop an oppressor, double trigger boomstick into the weak spot, then melee power attack and it's dead
I agree, it helps a lot to stop tough guys. If you ask me, I'd combine this attack with IGF to inflict the extra damage bonus the grenade gives you.

i somehow joined some chinese party and there were like a lot of players and they kept spawning these square rooms with lights and a ton of cargo crates, and my dwarf hit 25 levels in a single mission. what mods were they running?

Hey y'all having trouble with creating a sandbox save. I loaded a mod that was marked for sandbox, was told that the game is supposed to prompt me to make a sandbox save file but it never did. Have switched over to a separate save as to not mess with my main save but still cannot figure out how to make my new save a sandbox save. Any advice? (please ping in response)
Figured it out... So apparently you have to make a save using the save menu while a sandbox mod is loaded to create a sandbox save file. Don't know why I never got the prompt but I guess it's working now
I was directed here when I mentioned that all my mods are gone. What happened?
I guess whatever they did to the modding system broke everything? Looks like the mods are now managed from the "info screen" instead, and they were lost in the transition. This sucks. 🙁
every time i load up the game, all my mods are disabled even though i don't have the "disable outdated mods" box checked and not even all of my mods are outdated, is there a way to keep the mods enabled between sessions?

I've been off DRG for a bit and I've come back to an entirely different modding screen.. I look and I see I am still subscribed to all my original mods, and yet it will still say that they are not active yet I see no activation prompt..

Mod.io lets you login with game accounts like Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, etc. To make it easier to get up and running with modding. You likely signed in with Steam and that makes you an account.
Hello everyone, why can't I turn mods on/off from the settings menu now, but have to go to the information screen?
It was a recent update, they’re loading mods before loading most of the game to try to make it less buggy, however this also added exciting new bugs
Does anyone know how to change the mods loading order?
I've seen a lot of stuff for nexus modloader, but literally nothing for DRG
not really a thing in DRG
you can use the MINT sideloader to change the order mods are packaged into one, such as asset replacements; but mods themselves decide when they load
@vivid drum
for example if you have two mods A and B that replace the same audio file, the in-game mod loader you have no choice over which gets replaced.
MINT on the other hand, lets you choose if you want audio from mod B instead of mod A

you set the sort order in MINT
mods are packaged bottom to top, so a mod at the top will take priority of ones below it

you have to edit your mods on info screen, so you have to go back out of lobby. makes changing mods a pain.
loadouts dont exist for mods anymore from what I understand.
mods constantly disable/remove themselves.
mod.io constantly times out on drg where you get errors that don't have solutions.

By the way, it seems that Mintcat doesn't trigger sandbox mode at all
even with mods that are sandbox
with regular mint you have to put -disablemodding in game launch options

i've just made a mod that adds a copy mod urls button to the modding tab in the spacerig. you can either wait for it to get verified or use it right now with sandbox and it works anyway

yes. tried with activated and with disabled too.
after new start the game disabled me all mods, but after I enabled them manually again it REGISTERED now (why now?) that dependency mods were active. but it only called out 1st mod missing.
so tired of mod configs being randomly disabled or deleted each new start.
