If you are using cryo/EPC I like to build for normal shots and heat to make it a more traditional sidearm that can temp shock.
For flamer/subata the subata fire mod is really really good
You might try heat radiance as well since you are pretty much running a sticky build there
It's way more effective than it sounds like
I would also use the weakpoint mod on subata
But that is preference
Perks are another thing where everyone has different stuff they like.
Saying that, I would personally ditch link for dash, unstoppable for either sweet tooth or resupplier, and second wind for something like born ready, vamp, or really anything else.

Side note the crate can only be within 30m of the battery horizontally, it makes no noise but looks like a borderlands chest

The batteries spawn close horizontally. It's possible for the crate and batteries to spawn in different tunnels that are stacked vertically.
So if you're having no luck finding what you're missing, check the map and see if there's another tunnel above or below.

apparently it was a bug with the supporter edition that gave people the neon skin as well as the gilded?
So they patched it, meaning some people lost the skin and have to get it back via the usual method, otherwise theyd end up with 2 neon band skins

So I've had a productive last few hours, in terms of getting outside the map:
It is done; the Deep Rock Galactic Space Program can resume once more!
Sadly I was absolutely drunk during most of it(the method I used required two beers in rapid succession, and I had just downed four due to a prior failed attempt). There's a hole in the wall in the hallway to the top hangar, which you can get into using the shrink beer and get out of using the growth beer. That then puts you outside. I hope someone uses this method to explore even more, hopefully while not as drunk.

Yea, I experienced that already lol .. once it was like the uplink was on a long ass spiky rock .. (enough high so if you fall, you're outside of the area) thought it's okay I'll level it out with platforms (used to, works great for me .. definitely better than bunkering) ... As I shot my 3rd platform the scout were already hammering it lol
