I don't have ANY idea what most of these developers are capable of and what they take care of, For example, "Fran - Game Designer" I have no idea what even the hell that means, what is he designing? What does 'designing' even mean? Or jacob, which has no title other than some weird emoji, so I have no idea whether to consult him or not. Mekill is the 'game director' Which means he probably takes care of everything and is in charge of what happens to the game. I'm sure that's a good one to message, but what about the art director? He seems good. But as the developer team as a whole, I have no idea who to directly message and It seemed like a good idea that I could consult all of them due due to me having no process in which I know what they do or how they do it.

As to your question why it's appropriate to ask a fan art related question in the fan art section, of every developer, is because, like I stated, the developer team as a whole should probably know what I want to do. For example, what if the "Game Coder" made the game so that it doesn't allow any more images to be put into the game at this time, or that it has to be made a very specific way due to code limitations? I thnk it would be important to let him know, as well.

If I were to buy a t-shirt from a game, I would want something more than just the logo of the game. What works better is a quote/meme from the game in which you only get if you play the game. Ex: The cake is a lie from portal. Thatβs just how I like my gamer shirts but in general with that one. I would avoid adding the GSG logo and DRG logo on the same t-shirt. Overall I do love the pickaxe on the front but maybe you could do something more recognizable? Idk thatβs just my opinion but Iβm not into design at all so take my feedback with a grain of salt.

Scout controls the legs and other movement, Gunner controls the main cannons, Driller controls the drills and other melee weapons/defenses. Engineer repairs damage and automatic defense turrets, as well as removes any crawlers that have latched on to the mech! Sounds like fun to me.

That first torso/head peice took 16 hours, but I can probably optomize my print time on the next one. There was more infill than needed in some areas, but I was to lazy to set multiple processes, Now im regretting it with how slow it printed.
The waist and pockets are looking like they will take about 6 hours

I did my engi in a single go, which I wouldn't have tried without the decent support settings I managed to get. Think it was only 8h at .2 or .15

I can imagine 10cm being perfectly fine for some things, restricting for others.

mine is a M3D micro. bought it second hand but new. Someone bought it and never set it up, sold to me for $200 USD. It works good after some modifications and learning its quirks. But the speed is limited and build volume.
but I also split it up, not just to print bigger, but to reduce supports and so I could print on ideal angles to make small parts stronger.

while we're talking 3D printing: as the secondary weapons went live (end of 2018), i noticed a sharp drop in efficiency of the Deepcore (the Scout's previously main weapon), and I vividly remember telling myself "man it feels like i'm shooting nerf darts"
i had an epiphany, and told myself that i really, really, really, really, needed a Deepcore as a nerf gun in real life
and i got to work
this is still a work in progress, but i think i'm like 95% done with all the 3D modelling. I've planned to make it fully automatic, with 5 brushless motors and a bunch of useless additional crap (a screen that displays the amount of darts left in the magazine, a proximity sensor to measure the darts left in the magazine, a flashlight and a laser pointer, buttons everywhere)

also I told myself, why use an Arduino when you can power everything with an STM microcontrolller... and now I find myself having to learn C from scratch, and the whole thing might just take a bit longer than expected to finish

I'm learning CAD to do mine at the moment, though Fusion 360 is an amazing program to just pick up and go. Anyhew, looks amazing, looking forward to the finished product. I can imagine a drum powered shotgun would be possible. If I finish with my Halo guns, and have any money left, I might try my hand at an airsoft warthog shotty.

exactly, I'll use a red laser pointer on a slightly angled glass plate, or at least that's the plan. I don't really know if it's as simple as that (for example, will any glass do?), I'll have to run some tests
I have tried to cut the deepcore into parts that fit in my 3D printer (200x200x220 mm), so that I can print as much as I can myself, and so far the only thing I might have to do externally is the glass for the red dot (which is totally optional, it's one of the liberties I took with the design, but is not part of the original), and I have access to a hackerspace's laser cutter for it
I have very little experience with companies printing stuff for me, but last time I checked (a couple of years ago), it was for this one: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:455678
and it cost something like 700β¬ to print and ship, which was pretty prohibitive. I don't know how the market has evolved though, especially with SLS as competition

I've never used anything but pla. There is a local shop that sells it, never seen anything else carried and haven't tried ordering online. I live in Taiwan and can't read Chinese so online shopping can be a chore.

From what I've seen a laser pointer would be too powerful. A weak LED through a small hole would be plenty. Real ones use convex glass to fix the parallax effect, but for nerf it doesn't really matter.

No, its FDM, but I am using a plaster/join compound material rubbed all over it, then spray painted. It hides some layer lines, but not perfectly. But after a few layers of primer and paint, it should be fairly smooth

too long to print at 0.1 or 0.05 on your printer ? PLA is such a nightmare to sand down, and i dont like using any smoothing method since they destroy the small details.

I usually start with joint compound. rub it between the layers. I have a few small tools to help push the plaster around in the small areas.
Next I spray with primer spray paint a layer or two.
Right now I am taking a small blade to any artifacs, or missed bits of support, etc.
Then if I need to, I will rub a little more joint compound wherever I see a lot of layer lines.
More primer, and if I am losing detail, I might carve the detail back in with a fine blade, then 1 more layer of primer.
Then it should be pretty smooth. Maybe not 100% perfect, but good enough for me. I'll post some non-DRG stuff i've done...
Not all of these are completed yet
If the model is easy to do it, I will use sandpaper. but I usually manage with just joint compound and small cutting tools.

@wicked bronze here is a comparison. The pelvis was rubbed with joint compound then a few coats of primer, the legs have no joint compound (I will rub some on before the next primer layer)
Big difference and much easier than using just sandpaper or files.

Thank you all for the compliments and critiques, I've always had a problem with perspective/proportions (I blame it on my crappy eye sight lol) and admittedly messed with that a bit too much on this particular picture! I do have one question though, did I draw Lloyd wrong? I understand porportion problems but I wanna make sure I understand fully for future pictures. (P.S. @wicked bronze I use an M3D fdm printer. I forget the brand of the filament, but I think it was Flashforge. Honestly, I can't recommend the printer but I got a deal on mine, and as for the filament, I usually buy a much cheaper brand and it seems to work just as good. All the quality comes from hours of detailing with small precision blades, files, and several coats of black, white and grey spraypaint primer. Other than the joint compound I already mentioned, thats pretty much everything.
It is a tedious process, and I am being a little OCD about the detail. I dont think I have the stamina to put as much time into the other 3, but I think I could put in half the effort and get 90% of the quality, so I need to teach myself the phrase, "ok, that's good enough, keep it moving."
I've even put more time into it since my last picture, but it isn't worth posting because it looks ALMOST exactly the same, minus a few more imperfections I noticed.
