@potent quail the n-word has that power because the "er" version was used on the slaves. So people associated it with it being a weakness. The "ga" version was adopted by black people for friendship. They never used it derogatorily. While white people are always considered to use it in a bad way. On the internet no ome knows someones skin colour. Engineer is an Arcanist, enough said there

Gunner is Warlock, because he is really only good at one or two things, but he is damned good at what he can do

I'd say gunner is more like the ranged fighter in pathfinder, mostly good at ranged, has only enough skill points for Use Rope, and Use Magic Device for shield and is mostly just good for loads of damage

I thought about Arcane Archer Fighter for him, but AAs are very versitle characters, where as Gunner is good at blowing things up and popping up a shield, but not a lot else. His mobility option is by ar the most limited, and easily the one the party can work around not having the easiest (very useful for creating spider webs for cheesing, but that strat is second fiddle to driller bunkers supported by shields these days). So I went with Warlock since his sole role 90% of the time is blast anything that comes at the party and keep the pressure up constantly, and occasionally do something awesome that no one else can replicate (tossing out the shield).

Its akin to a warlock banishing a foe for several rounds of combat without any sort of save to prevent it

"game's boring and repetetive" - most video games? It's called a gameplay loop. Not every game is everybody's cup of tea, but that's more down to personal preference than the game. Not to say DRG's perfect, but it's still in EA and it's a lot better than most other games out there at the moment. Certainly my fav co-op.
