@stark lantern it does sound like a more general issue with the Windows Store than something related to Deep Rock specifically. There appears to be some automatic troubleshooting/repair you can attempt, but I'm not sure how effective that is. A google search might provide more info on that stuff

steam version released a hotfix to reduce them microsoft version might not get that patch considering how long it would take to release it

this is from steams patch notes, Yesterday, we activated the Halloween event and it had way more Pumpkins than intended. We have dived into the caves and destroyed all the surplus pumpkins.

just a heads up while i was playing on site in magma core i threw a neuro toxin grenade and medium boy spitting acid at me caused it to crash

Only thing that changes between steam and Microsoft deep dives is either resources based on players or in different updates that changed deep dives like update 31 on Microsoft and update 32 on steam until we got update 32

Ok I’m half asleep I changed some settings on tv and turned on hdr in windows settings and turned it on in DRG and it looks like crap aka profile picture of gunner is mostly grey

My roommate plays DRG on Xbox with mouse and keyboard (one of the very few Xbox games that supports it), I play on PC. We have tons of fun. But there is one caveat - is there a way for him to connect a headset to his xbox so that we can voice chat? He's not using his controller so I can't see where he could plug in his headset...

I’m having a couple windows store PC version issues. Full screen 4K gsync stutter is back. When I switch to windowed and maximize the window, resolution switches to 1080p. When I move it back to 4K, I get the tiny window again and it won’t stay maximized in 4K. Also having audio distortion when using a mic plugged into a wired Xbox controller. If the distortion isn’t there, it happens when I unplug the mic. Very weird. Also HDR seems to be disabled now unless I check the HDR box in options, but this new HDR implementation is dark and nowhere near as good as it used to be.

Just had something really odd happen. Started an escort mission, and an Engie joined me after a short time. My Xbox suddenly shut off completely seconds after the announcement of an incoming swarm after the refuel stage. Not absolutely sure but the Engie may have had the same experience, or at the very least his game crashed, as it shows him having last been on the Xbox home screen right when the shutdown occurred.

I have seen it mentioned here a few times, but I haven't noticed it happening myself. It doesn't seem like it happens often,, based on how few times I've seen it mentioned, so if you have noticed any kind of pattern when it happens it might make it easier to find and fix the problem. Are you the host when it happens? Are you on Xbox or PC?

It always happens to me and my friends on the uplink portion of salvage, but I haven't seen it anywhere else. Weirdly, it happens to everyone I play with too, regardless if they're using PC or Xbox. I don't know why it wouldn't be occurring for you.

Also, it doesn't happen all the time, but sometimes the damage report for the drilldozer in the heartstone part of the mission does not change for clients, which forces them to repair the drilldozer blindly. I don't know why this doesn't happen all of the time, it just seems strange.

I was bored one day and I came up with a lot of new overclocks but one I made up really hit a sweet spot with a lot of my Xbox friends and it was called sticky turret. It makes the turret stick to whatever surface it’s on and it lowers ammo count and it’s a balanced overclock

They said does it hit a sweet spot because we can finally have guns on molly and they all laughed and said damn straight

The drop pod leaves immediately when all alive dwarves are within the green exit zone without giving anyone a chance to react to their downed comrade(s). So, if the three others had boarded the drop pod and were inside the green exit zone, they would not have been able to come get you even if they wanted to.

However, if they were not in the drop pod exit zone when you went down, then perhaps they had their reasons. Did you adequately "Rock and Stone" when appropriate? Because if you don't "Rock and Stone," you ain't comin' home...

If you're looking to play with xbox players, most will probably use the in-game chat or parties via the xbox app on PC. There's no discord app on xbox, so you can't get game sound and discord audio through the same headset

#

The in-game chat isn't great either though, so the pods make sense if you're in an all-pc group

Regarding Steam and Windows Store/Xbox crossplay and SoT, Rare is owned by Microsoft, (probably one of their premiere studios) and SoT is a first party game. The resources needed to develop crossplay are a bit easier to come by when you have that kind of backing. It's a different story for an small, independent developer. If there was some kind of easy, plug-and-play, turnkey solution for crossplay between Steam and Xbox, I'm sure we'd see more crossplay, but as of yet it's mostly just been from major studios/publishers. I'm all for more crossplay, but it's not just a "flip a switch" thing to make it happen. If the devs have the time and resources to make it happen, I'm sure they would do it, but it's just not that simple

Different studios have different priorities, and different games/engines/platforms provide different availabilities of features. When you have a smaller dev team, you have to carefully pick and choose the features you are capable of delivering with the resources at your disposal

#

Right now, there's DRG is still getting new content and ongoing improvements. Perhaps when those things slow down, there will be an opportunity to look into crossplay with Steam

Presumably most game studios would like to do it if possible and if it makes sense for their game(s). It's a selling point that makes a game more attractive. It requires time and work, though, which might be more effectively spent elsewhere especially when resources are more limited compared to larger studios

At least DRG's community seems generally pretty good in my experience, so it's not hard to have fun with the random folks that are available per platform

I did three tonight: the first I played and hosted with my friend, he d/c’d after our game, I assumed it might have just been his WiFi, it’s usually not that great. The next two games I played were ones I joined and were also public with new players, and I d/c’d from both after the mission was over.

I’ll do more testing, I don’t want to immediately assume everything is the devs fault lol. But I don’t experience many interruptions play other games.

Just to mention on crossplay - Everyone including us, wants it, but it takes time, since we are literally a handfull of coders and need to make content for the game, fix bugs and all that jazz. If/when it gets added, we will have done it as fast as we possibly could.

Behavior studios made an awesome game despite great odds and I think that GSG has made a similar if not arguably superior performance with their game creation, which is a big compliment to the brilliance going on at GSG considering the difference in manpower.

And the reason they've done so well IMO comes down to excellent community engagement and relations with their playerbase.

That being said I feel significantly squishier and easier to kill as an engineer in u32. My weapons are less powerful than u30 and things are much more tense down on hoxxes as a result.

Folks are generally pretty quiet or off mic. The existing non-verbal communication, between the salute, shout, and laser pointer, can really get most of the necessary communication across pretty well, so there's less need to rely on voice chat as long as everyone is paying attention and has some amount of situational awareness

I don't think I've seen anyone mention having trouble launching the game since the most recent update yesterday morning. It's a pain, but it is possible something got screwed up and the whole thing needs to be reinstalled. No guarantee that will do anything, but it might be a thing to try. Before that, and I know this sounds like it shouldn't make a difference, but try rebooting if you haven't already. Sometimes a good ol' simple reboot will get things working

No trouble with Game Bar not showing up when pressing WinKey + G. Ocassionally I've needed to restart my PC as I could receive but not accept invites using the Game Bar. I'd try a restart, and if that doesn't do it, check settings: Start Menu > Settings > Gaming and make sure "Record game clips, screenshots, and broadcast using Xbox Game Bar" is On

thats on the list of not very important bugs, get back to the devs when a bug that causes you to fall thru the map is reproduceable

So far it’s only up to Microsoft for what games are crossplay with steam. So far I know of 2 games that are crossplay with steam and it’s rise of nation and age of empires
