Thanks for all your hard work guys, this game has really grown amazingly from the chintzy old scout AR long gone, DDs are exactly as difficult as I expected! It’s my favorite game to recommend for friends, already bought two copies besides my own to spread the rocks and the stones. 🥰

Not everyone is made of money to throw at the problem. Also, you're advocating spending 20x the value of the game to play a game that worked fine until Update 25. The correct response is patience, because the devs are working on it

#

And we're not complaining about the crashes, merely providing feedback. If there is a better place to provide non-technical feedback about the updates I'd gladly post there, but the devs are paying attention to this chat so it seems like as good a spot as any

Crashes on Xbox One original model seem to be more frequent since yesterday's hotfix, but load times do seem to be better than before Update 25

Often when I join a game, more so by invite but often by the quick join as well, it will give me a really long waiting screen then return me to the space rig alone. I also sometimes can't see some public games on the quick join. Also, the same games often show up multiple times on the quick join, and sometimes empty games show up as well.

I use a controller during loading screen using LT and RT to bypass it during loading screen

Also fix connection issues it tells me lost connection when host tells me he’s kicking me

It's decent. You only really want to use it when there are 1, maybe two enemies left to shoot at.

I can't think of all the upgrades you want right now, but you want one for recoil, and for the last tier definitely take bonus damage if all shots hit

Ammo usually isn't an issue if you only use it to pick off things.

Possibly, but I'm the only one getting disconnected when I join. Other two friends, one PC and one Xbox One, stay connected when one of them host, but when I host they both get disconnected at the same time. All of us are wired

Sea of Thieves is also Unreal and fine, but all players connect to a server as opposed to the host/client connection in Astroneer and Deep Rock, so it's possible

Sea of Thieves also an entirely different version of multiplayer. Dedicated servers could potentially help Astroneer when that update finally comes out. I'm not sure what to do about Deep Rock, but we've been barely playing since it's hard to stay connected

Not sure if this is the right chat to be asking this question, but does anyone know if steam save files can be transferred into a windows 10 version of the game? I have a friend who plays deep rock on xbox and was considering rebuying the game on windows 10 in order to cross play with him, but I don't know if it would be worth it if I lost all of my progress. The only threads I've seen on this issue seem to have come to the conclusion that moving the save file from the steam folder to the proper windows 10 folder doesn't seem to update the game, despite the save files being in the same format. Could this be an issue with windows 10 having its own cloud saves that overwrites any transferred save file?

Transferring Saves Between Steam & Windows 10 & Technically Xbox

@abstract elk the first step is getting access to the Windows Store games folder.

First of all you'll have to be able to view hidden files to find the right folder (Packages or simply just App Data to apply this to everything in there).
The folder can be found by going to your drive with Windows on it (usually C:), go to Users, your username, App Data, Local, Packages. At this point I believe you cannot access it further.

Right click the folder (Packages), go to properties, security tab, advanced, owner section with the admin shield and "change" by it, enter your user name into the last box and hit "check names" and hit apply.

Then try to enter the folder and it won't work, just use the administrator option (right click the folder again and it should be an option with blue and yellow) to gain access again and you should have access.

The following image should be the rough idea of what your directory header should say:

If you haven't already, in the View tab of Folder Options in Windows you need to turn off "Hide extensions for known file types" to make copying and renaming the files easier.
The save file name and file extension (the .sav or the lack of a .sav) must match the original save file exactly or the file will not be recognized.
You can get to Folder Options quickly by clicking the Start button and searching for Folder Options.

The actual Windows Store save file is here (will be a different name due to how it works):

The image below shows the order in which you should progress through the folders in file explorer (the top is the destination, the bottom is where you start from).
These could be different folder names, but as long as you see two files in the last folder, one of which is container, it should be the right spot.

Pretty much all that is left is to find the right random letters and numbers file (can easily check by opening it in Notepad++ or some form of text editor) and then finding your Steam save, pasting it in there and renaming it as the exact same file name AND extension as what is in that folder already (which changes the name per Windows Store DRG launch).

Steam save files are here (substitute the drive name for your installation location and "steam setup" for Steam) and the one you want to copy will most likely be the highlighted one:
Alternatively you can go into Steam, right click and go to properties, local files, browse local files, FSD, Saved, Saved Games, and look for
<User ID>_Player.sav

So now you just rename the red circled part as the highlighted yellow (make a backup of the yellow one first).
However, you should delete the yellow one before renaming the other so that it actually works on the next boot up (only have one other file besides container in there).
