Has anyone else been getting poor framerates on Xbox series S after the recent 2gb update?

I usually run a solid 60fps , but after the update my series s is stuttering hard 30-50fps

I was playing just before I updated with a smooth 60fps. i got the random update and now it’s tanked. There’s no obvious graphical improvements to explain the fps drop, so I’m assuming it’s some sort of bug. Hope they fix it

120Hz might not show up as an option in-game if you haven't enabled it on your console or if your TV+HDMI cable doesn't support it

I think both tv and cable needs to support HDMI 2.1 or above for 4K 120Hz. We've had instances where TVs supported 120Hz but defaulted to 1080p because of either the TV or the cable being an older HDMI version

My TV is LG C1 and I am happy to play 120-frame mining now

There are 3 modes on XSX, performance and sharp mode feel the same, these two modes have always been there, both 70-120 frames, tonight added performance (120Hz) mode can stabilize 4K120, there is no feeling where the picture is worse.

I think it may be down to colour values or transparency. I lowered Colour Depth to 24-Bits per pixel, 8-bit. 120hz at 1080p. Edit: Possible Fix for stuttering on Xbox Series S @slim slate @fresh crow

Having an issue since update and wondering if anyone else is experiencing it as well or has advice. As I'm running around the space rig, my controller will stop responding and either not work at all or will keep inputting the previous controls like keep spinning for example. As soon as I unplug my headset the controller will work as normal. I've reinstalled the game, didn't fix it. Tested it on two different controllers and two different headsets, same controller "freezing" results each time. No issues on other games either. Anyone else experiencing this?

Hitting Xbox button to bring up overlay removes FSR artifacts and gives stable 60fps, even at 120fps mode. Removes all stuttering. Is FSR enabled during QA? Like.. Its more like, if you have 120fps. From what I can tell its almost always a 20-40fps drop regardless of resolution. So people with 60hz displays seem to suffer the most.

Colour depth seem to improve stability for me, but may be placebo.

There are no announced plans. DRG is peer-to-peer, there are no servers, so the devs would have to redo how networking is implemented since each version currently uses whatever is built into its platform. The devs know it's something people would like, but it'd be a ton of work and resources to create a system from scratch that would enable cross-play.
It's not completely impossible -- so "never say never" -- but it probably won't be happening any time soon, if ever

If the platforms (Xbox, Steam, PlayStation) themselves came up with a way for accounts to talk to each other and connect to each other, it would probably make it a lot easier for the devs to add that kind of functionality, but so far the platforms don't seem to be doing much to make it happen

I play on Xbox Series X. As of the date of this post, whenever I boot up DRG my controller begins having many issues performing any of its functions. Controller would lose connection, buttons presses don’t respond, dwarf spinning in circles, etc. If I boot up any other game I do not experience any of these issues at all. Controller and Xbox are up to date. Not sure if this is related to recent update. This is not something I experienced near the beginning of the DD, EDD, and weekly assignment reset on 9/8. Any recommendations on how to resolve?

Hz is the refreshrate. It defines how many frames per second the screen can show.
60hz means it updates 60 times a second. Running the game at 120FPS on a 60hz monitor only shows you 60FPS.

Game would still stutter and hitch when lots of particles were being generated (i.e. large groups of enemies spawning/drilling bunches of frozen bugs) and surprisingly enough, when othee players would load into the game. Just like on the Xbox One.

Collect gold during missions, do both objectives during missions, drink Pots O’ Gold at the bar if available, look for Golden Bugs mutator before starting a mission, finding stuff like bittergems can get you a lot of credits and if a Crassus Bulk Detonator spawns: you got the gold for credits.

I'd honestly rather have the xbox one version available just so I can keep the 60fps all the time. Part of that, though, is because I don't benefit from the update. My display isn't gonna be changing any time soon so it's gonna stay 1080p 60hz which means I can only visually see 1080p and 60fps 🤷‍♂️

I haven't seen any performance dips on the Series S. it was choppy before I had VRR turned on but ever since I turned it back on to troubleshoot my controller desyncing whenever I went to 120fps mode, it's been completely fine

This has happened to me before. What tends to work, make sure both of you are in the space rig (separate lobbies to start). To make sure you don’t have an active open lobby, click “disband team” button. Then one of you send invite to the other.
