Well... I just played through an entire hosted mission where someone seemed to join directly at the start, then had 2 more join, and it didn't stutter nor lead into a crash.

So for anyone else suffering that I guess try a reinstall, update drivers (I updated my drivers on nvidia app thing), and restart PC, as well as using the launch DX11 option for steam launch options.
Hopefully this wasn't just a fluke of me not crashing...

I've been noticing a lot of "terrain desync" recently where I'd end up in a completely different spot after climbing something or just get flung to the opposite side of the cave extremely fast. This doesn't happen in solo but the former has had very minor cases even when I'm the one hosting and the latter happens even when I have 30 or so ping. Is this a bug or?

I don't wanna report this yet in case it isn't a bug or something else entirely. I have a few visual mods but nothing game altering and it has happened even with all of them disabled

Hi everyone. Has anyone encountered a weird issue where mid-game there is an installer starting to copy something to "C:\Windows\drivers"? It happened to me recently. And I am certain that the installer was spawned by DRG, since the window title was "Deep Rock Galactic - Installer". My main concern is that it happened mid-game, so it cannot be pre-start prerequisites installation. Could it be an RCE vulnerability?

Hi everyone- I'm having an issue where the game freezes on startup. It gets past the loading screen but then I am unable to move my cursor. Weirdly, if I click something in the game it does nothing, but then if I alt-tab away and come back, it updates based on what I clicked. So I can very slowly navigate to game settings. This did happen once before after changing the game resolution to an aspect ratio that didn’t match my computer, but I've confirmed that didn't happen this time.
Things I've tried so far: Restarting the game/ computer, putting graphics settings at lowest possible options, updating/ reinstalling graphics drivers, uninstalling/ reinstalling the game, playing on safe mode and DirectX11 instead, verifying game files, turning off cloud saving and moving my save files to try to start the game from the tutorial (still had the same issue), and making sure it's running on the correct driver

Has anyone had an issue with trying to play the game and use voice chat on discord? It's a weird audio sound- kinda like a robot riding a jackhammer. Effects the frame rate a little too, but it's the audio that makes it really bad. Only happens when trying to play with friends and speak through discord.

There is no guaranteed fix, the bot kind of just works when it wants to. There's a guide of potential steps to take pinned in #drg-chat that you can try, but like I said, there's no guarantee of it solving the problem.

I need some help….so my DRG is being weird. I used to be able to play it with no problems, and now, I can’t play it at all because my FPS is 4-6 fps.

I’ve tried lowering graphics, that doesn’t change anything. I tried changing resolution, doesn’t change anything. I updated my drivers, looked at chat rooms and implemented what some of those groups said…nothing seems to work. My fps stays at 4-6…

I am getting desperate, if I can’t fix it, I’ll probably just end up getting a new computer because DRG is one of the predominant ways I stay in touch with friends halfway across the US and on the other side of the world

Hi, I'm running drg on Arch Linux and my game has strange lag spikes even when not in a mission. the big problem is the input lag, every so often, between 5-10 seconds all of my input is ignored for a second. its like if it tabbed out of the game and I often accidentally click out of the window. I've looked around for a while now but cant find any solutions. any ideas?

ok, I think I fixed it for the most part, linux has a usb power saving mode that I disabled, and that did fix the complete disconnect issue, but I do still have little hiccups here and there where it takes a second to register key inputs

Is there any fix to the infamous "mouse cursor going off the game" bug

i had this bug maybe a year ago, where moving my mouse and clicking at the same time (which happens all the time) would make my cursor go off the game, onto one of my other monitors, and then click on that monitor, making me nhave to tab back into the game, sometimes multiple times a minute. I don't remember how i fixed it. I started playing again after a while, im now using linux, and im having the exact same bug. only with drg, exact same behavior. it's wild

doesn't matter the resolution or fullscreen state, the only way to "fix" this is to unplug all my other monitors, and even then, sometimes the mouse goes unresponsive until i tab back in. i see peopel talking about this on steam, reddit, there's even a new toggle in the game to lock the mouse, but it only works in windowed

You are a godsend!!! It was apparently using the wrong gpu. And my entire computer somehow was fucked too…unsure how that happened. Anyways, I had to reset the nvidia control panel to its default settings, and then I selected the high performance for drg in the control panel process settings…and my computer glitched out, and suddenly I can change the brightness again and drg works!!!!

Hello, I have a quick question.
A friend of mine has had an issue since the beginning of the game, it takes a very long time to load and sometimes freezes in between. Now, he sometimes glitches through the ground and instantly dies. The game still takes a very long time to load, even though his PC is better than mine.

We’ve only been playing for about 7 and a half hours, and this long loading issue has been there since the start, even when launching the game.

Can anyone maybe help with this? I hope this is the right channel for these kinds of problems. I assume it might be some kind of bug.
Also, if anyone can reply in German, that would help me out a bit, it’s easier for me to understand.

hi! i have a question regarding the connection for the game. me and my friend play almost daily and when either of us host we get kicked several times out of the game in a span of like 10 minutes - weirdest part is that, it only happens with that specific friend, and if it is a public lobby, only he is being thrown out of the lobby constantly. if i join his game, i cant even play for 3 minutes because i just keep getting ''connection lost'' and honestly it makes the game unbearable - having to rejoin every once in a while - how do i fix this?

Having the same «D-symbol» problem. Looks like all descriptions have such visual bug.
Bug appeared on the middle of the game session and looks like it stays forever.
Tried some attempts to fix it:

1. Disabled some mods that may have some influence on any text in the game;
2. Reinstalled mods, updated the cache;
3. Disabled all mods;
4. Changed game language.

After all of those attempts nothing has changed.
But in fact, the bug appeared while playing modded game session: after using Sandbox «VIP Beer» mod, that uses tutorial message box to show the player the bind for entering mod's menu.

Whenever I load in, it loads a brand new save with no levels or anything, and I have to manually restore my save, but it cancels whatever assignment I am on, making my complete the tutorial assignment before doing anything else. The game is still very much playable, but this is rather annoying and time-consuming. I play on Xbox, and my microsoft store account is different than my Xbox one, but this has never been an issue before. Any reasons why this could be happening?

Regarding this: it’s definitely an exclusive discord issue, everything is normal when I use in game chat. When I try to be in a discord voice channel, the problem returns. So I’ve solved it by just not using discord while I play, but it’s never been like that before

• Disable your mods (can do so by using the Safe mode launch option)
• Update your GPU drivers
• Reinstall your drivers using DDU so all leftovers are properly removed
• Try launching with dx11 (Steam only)
• Verify the game's files
• Try to install the game on another drive
• Try to install vc_redist.x64.exe from microsoft website
• Make sure your save is not corrupted (back it up somewhere, then delete it from the game's folder)

I am having similar issues as @alpine basalt I had no issues before the halloween update. I am playing on PC, but i am playing through the xbox store. My game 100% of the time crashes in the "Initializing" screen, but if i do make it past that, I will load into the space rig for about 3 seconds before inevitably crashing. I re installed a couple times, updated gpu. Repaired the file through xbox but to no avail. No issues running any other games.

Hey again, still having issues running on PC, playing through the xbox store though and not steam, never had any issues before halloween update, no updates on computer, gpu has no updates, tried the above suggestion of downloading DirectX web installer and still no help, repaired files on Xbox home, uninstalled, reinstalled, getting no error messages. I may have made some small progress. I went into my graphics settings and made sure that deep rock wasnt running on my integrated GPU. It was on the option to "Let windows decide" so I changed it to specfically use the high performance RTX 4070 at all times. But even after changing this setting I was still crashing, but was loading into space rig, taking 2-3 steps and crashing. But I discovered in Windows App settings that i could look at a advanced settings for the game, I repaired the file there, but same issue, same crash. But there was an option to "Reset" the game and its data. So I did that and actually managed to load in. Ran around the space rig for probably about 5 minutes. Longest I have in the past week without crashing. I thought I may have fixed it finally, but just to make sure. I closed down the game and re-opened it. Loading back into the space rig and crashing again where I usually do. Is there a possibility that something save wise is corrupted since I play from my PC and my Xbox console?

Most likely because you just need to do a core event to get the new overclock. It's been a while so I may be misremembering. Also, leveling up your forge might allow some to show up.

On low set i have around 60-70 fps when I can recall correctly that year ago when I played DRG last time I had much better frames on more quality settings.

As in, the game itself keeps running without lag, but I can't move the camera.

I've tried using Mint, verifying files, changing graphics settings in case it was lag related, adding a couple things to engine.ini, removing all mods, changing mouse port, cleaning the mouse... nothing.

So turns out my spouse's more fancy mouse works without issue, but my older one doesn't.
And mine only has this problem in-game, not in menus or any other software.

I would still like to get a fix, given I can't buy a new mouse at the moment

EDIT: as far as I can tell, it has to do with the quality of the mouse's sensor. Further testing shows that it happens when I flick the mouse too fast, and it happens on spouse's pc too. I've turned up my sensitivity so I don't do that as much, and the only true fix will be buying a better mouse.

This question is probably unanswerable, but is anyone else having HUGE issues with network problems? Like, taking your entire network connection offline level problems. I don't have this problem with any other games or even network problems in general, but a friend and I have both been having the same problem when playing where our entire internet connection will temporarily disconnect when playing. Our PCs act like they're connected to the internet and say that they are, but can't make any actual connections. This happens on both of our ends at random and only with this game. So I'm having the weirdest bug with DRG. The game has been absolutely perfect since launch. This all started randomly about a month or so ago. Basically, no matter what my game says the FPS is, it feels like it's locked to 30fp and just feels like crap to play. But if I quick alt tab, the game is back to being buttery smooth...for about 2 seconds, then back to feeling like crap. I lock my FPS to 144, which it's always at cause when I disable it, I'm sitting at 300+. I have no clue why it's doing this all of a sudden cause nothing has changed. Different drivers don't fix it, lowering settings don't, nothing I do in game fixes it. The only time it is smooth is after I alt tab and it only lasts 2 seconds. Has anyone else been having this issue and know why it does this?

So I always run the game on Windowed Fullscreen mode. For some reason, when I switch it to Fullscreen, the problem is completely gone, and I can also switch it to Windowed mode after that. But the moment I go back to Windowed Fullscreen, the problem is back. Even if I go to Windowed mode from there, it doesn't work. I HAVE to put it in Fullscreen mode first or it won't work

Enhanced Sync didn't appear to be broken in my other games, so I switched from 'windowed fullscreen' in DRG to 'windowed' and it's perfect again now. As smooth as Blackout Stout.

Weirdest bug happened with me today.
At the same frame as switching to call a resupply I accidentally fat fingered switching back to the weapon and the nitra got taken away, the outline of where it would land didn't appear, and it got spawned at the other part of the cave (PRESUMABLY where the previous resupply got called, probably because it didn't have a correct location to land so it used the last data available)

This audio bug doesn't affect gameplay but it was somewhat interesting to see:

I was doing a mining mission and after being done, a random swarm triggered right after I called for drop pod. Instead of "escape" music, the "combat" music was playing, and at the end of it it was back to "ambient" music like the mission is still going, despite the extraction clock

I'm not sure how easy it is to reproduce as swarm triggered right after I called a drop pod so it happened. Still thought it'd be worth reporting it

I am having issues hosting games on DRG.
My internet and pc are the same, the only difference was that I switched to Mint Linux. From what I seen online other people can host games on Mint Linux without issues, but I currently seem to be unable to host.
I had a friend try to join but he could not see my server lobby at all.
I tried to reset my internet connection by turning it off and on, but that did not seem to work either, nor was changing the ip version/disabling ipv6.

In the past I played a lot of DRG, I leveled up quite well, but for some reason I gave up. Now I gave the family library to a friend, who also downloaded the game and played it for a while. Now I decided to download it too and my account just cleared itself. How can I solve this and is it even possible to get the progress back?

GSG has fixed most of the networking issues that they can. The rest are engine problems or issues on the individual system they can't touch. You can try the troubleshooting that has been provided, but that's likely the best you're going to get.

Hello I unlocked the shard defractor oc Overdrive booster and I am unable to activate the boost feature I don't know what's wrong but upon firing the laser beam (m1) and pressing my reload button (m4) the boost feature doesn't activate I don't get locked in place and the beam doesn't increase its damage I tried holding reload taping it firing it not firing it and I am unable to activate the boost

Happens a lot in this channel sadly…running DRG on an unsupported GPU is always a roll of the dice. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Hard to provide support for unsupported hardware tho.

Doesn’t help that the Game Pass / Microsoft Store version only supports DirectX 12. On Steam, sometimes you can get by with forcing it into DX11

Try those in that order : update your GPU drivers/use dx11 launch option/make sure the game is using the right GPU/do a clean driver install using DDU/try to turn off 'core auto boost' or whatever is the equivalent of this in your BIOS/turn off your antivirus while playing (and check if no files from the game have been quarantined)

I don't know if this is a bug or it's actually WAD. I'd already gotten two "empty...!" messages from lost crates in previous missions. In this morning's mission, I got a new skin for my heavy revolver (which I can confirm I did not previously have).

I can wonder if ||the source code selects a random class first, then picks at random an available upgrade, but if all upgrades are already taken for that particular class, then it produces the "empty" message instead of picking another class||.

The lost packs and the cargo crates have separate cosmetic pools, which is why one can be empty and the other still have cosmetics to collect. Congrats on getting all lost pack cosmetics though!

iirc the lost packs are pickaxe parts and bosco gear, and the cargo crates are weapon frameworks and victory moves

I've already greenlit the game completely in my firewall, my date and time settings are completely automatic, and I'm able to play with games and host any other lobby just fine without issue unless it is a Deep dive (Someone has to host it first before I have access to it before it resets) I've also verified files, but this happens just whenever the game is open. Why have I returned to my favorite old game to find its become incompatible with the way my firewall works, which is the rules are based on the executable. The server list cant populate for me because the connections are somehow not associated with the executable for the game. This is what it looks like for me.

The only change my PC has undergone since the last time I was able to play DRG was the installation of a new Unreal Engine game; Dune Awakening. i already reported the bug, just want to see if anyone encountered this. played a solo salvage operation on scout, repaired both mini mules and called them back to the drop pod. there's this hatch that opens up, and some arm extends to pull in the mule. what i did was use the grappling hook to get to the opening in the drop pod where the mule goes and stand on the edge of the hitbox, then when the mule was going inside i used the hook on the inside of that compartment to try to get inside(it is blocked off by an invisible wall), somehow i got pushed inside by the mule and got left inside the drop pod. now the weirdest part is that, even though i havent completed the primary objective, the still "broken" drop pod took off, mission control said "thats one for the bugs" and i "extracted" with the mission ending in failure. unfortunately i do not have recordings of that, but im currently trying to replicate it myself, while recording.
