I think its cause we are making big investments in getting to the next teir of materials and its expensive and we are getting a little worries about running out of materials. We have the pipeline set up so as soon as AU2s are here they will be AU4s and we can crank out a ton of iron efficently.

From what I have heard. It costs something like 1500 iron to get industy. But with the upgrades it goes down to 1000. And with the mines starting to get a little less overflowing with iron some people are worried about finding enough to finish projects or something. I have no clue is iron is actually running out or if we just need to invest time in finding other veins. I don't know enough about this game.

I understand the desire to wait as we have thought we were getting AU2s for a few days now. But for how long it has taken we most likely should have just pushed past at this point and ate the cost.

I REALLY can't stress enough, the difference the upgrades will make aren't worth holding onto resources. Sure it'll be more annoying to grind more, but we need stuff to get made. the thing is that road already exists and is being used for main thoroughfare traffic. its on the district map for now so that people can upgrade it and remove trees, but I intend to convert it to a foot traffic road for casual shopping (food, clothing, furniture) while the outside road can be used for vehicles to supply those shops

basically we currently have an unoptimized road that was built out of necessity that needs to be accessible in order for people to access the dump island. eventually we will build a better highway system to access it, as well turn the area the current road runs through into a mall and just use the existing road as a footpath, but for now we only have that road

something I just remembered to mention, all of you people that have settlements and factories on the islands will probably want to consider starting to move to the industrial district when you have free time

now that we have oil drilling the sea level rise is not far away

I recommend building factories with a floor level to the highway for your shop, then building down from there

and dont forget parking spaces

What are the roads mayor needs at the moment? I was planning on making a large stockpile just for slag so if you can pick a location. I can give the large lumber stockpile for it.

Do you regularly use the gov store to see what you can do about those stores? I can see what the store is buying so I can divert effort into filling those.

highway map has been updated to be more logical. most roads are changed to 2 claims wide, the few that are one lane have these little bumps to signify where we will make turnouts to save roads but also ensure no cars are forced to reverse in case of oncoming traffic.

if you want to help the road building effort you are welcome to. please try to follow these guidelines:

1. always use barriers
2. try to keep roads as flat and straight as possible
3. do not build at sea level
4. if you need to change elevation, try to have a smooth, consistent elevation, rather than having bumps of elevation and flatness

on that last point, make sure you know the elevation of your start point and end point so you can plan ahead

some clarity on my intentions for the districts:

Commercial district should generally have the shops for goods that your character uses and that you dont need a vehicle to carry (food, furniture, clothing, etc.)

Industrial district should generally have the shops with more raw materials and should have good loading/unloading access for large vehicles. Any crafting that pollutes should be done in an industrial district or on a remote island without a farm, so as to keep the plants from dying

also if we can get all industrial factories in close proximity within the industrial district it will make advanced crafting much easier

no more running across the map for various ingredients

if anybody hasnt reviewed the district map yet and might want to raise an objection to its organization, now would be the time. i've been pretty loose with it up until this time but I think its time to actually enforce the various zones
