#Clipping advice

I scales texture that I need to clip to the scales, and then clip scales to the skin layer. However, when I clip it all like that, it doesn't work. I can't just merge texture with scales layer, because I need them separate to make the iridescent effect.
How do I approach it? Is there a way to make it work?

You may need to do double clipping shenanigans

Scales would be how the purple heart is used, sparkle would follow the pink hearts, and skin would follow the teal heart
