heres it moving perfectly inside live 2d

#

Hello, my model isnt moving in vtube studio, it moves perfectly inside live 2d editor. Camera is on in vtube studio, but she stands still, angles wont work, nothing. it tracks mouth and eyes but thats it

#

Did you used default parameters to move the physics parameters?

grim plinth
#

i dont remember

#

heres a video

regal swan
#

ahh

#

wait

#

whats the output of this?

grim plinth
regal swan
#

thats your issue

#

you are using the same parameter as input and output

grim plinth
#

which other one would it be?

regal swan
#

is like if you tell your leg " when leg moves, move leg"

grim plinth
#

would it be angle x instead?

regal swan
#

let me ask you
this physic what is supposed to be in
"when 🟩 move, then ⬜ should move"

grim plinth
#

ill try angle x

#

i watched tutorial videos for the entire thing so i have no clue what im doing cat_Cry

regal swan
#

yeah, that is why i asked it like that so i could explain you how physics works... in case all rest physics are wrong too

grim plinth
#

the body isnt moving either

#

so im assuming i messed up the outputs there as well

regal swan
#

physics basicaly have
input > leads the movement
output > reacts to the movement

for example
hair moves when head moves

that means
input > head
output > hair

grim plinth
#

yeee

#

i understand that part

#

i just dont understand what i actually made since i was just following a tut

regal swan
#

well in that group you made

input: angle X physics
output: angle X physics

grim plinth
#

this is what ive got for body

regal swan
#

that looks fine

grim plinth
#

ok i changed the angle thing, should it work now?

regal swan
#

it should work

grim plinth
#

ill try it and come back c:

#

thank u

regal swan
#

yw

grim plinth
#

is there a reason why the body wasnt moving?

#

is it because of the angle thingy

regal swan
#

[ body Y is not by default a mouse tracked parameter in physics, so probably you didnt activated it]

grim plinth
#

i activated!

#

i just meant it wasnt moving in vtube studio

#

like with webcam

regal swan
#

are all this the original parameters when you started the model?

grim plinth
#

i believe so

regal swan
#

can you right click any of them and click on "edit"?

grim plinth
#

damn

#

its still not moving

#

ye ill do that

regal swan
#

i have a.... feeling they are not the original parameters

grim plinth
#

i started this model two months ago , mmy memory is horrible im sorry :C

regal swan
#

dw

grim plinth
#

oh um, i guess i didnt use them

#

how the heck am i moving the model LOL

regal swan
#

ok right click any of them

#

and click on edit parameter

#

and take a picture of it

grim plinth
regal swan
#

yeah

#

ok

#

let me explain to you whats happening

#

you created those parameters.
that mean they are not tracking parameters
and that is the reason why it does not move in VTS

#

can you go to angle X physics and click edit and take a picture too?

grim plinth
regal swan
#

oh ok...

#

you deleted the default parameters [the originals]

#

so you dont have tracking

grim plinth
#

i was watching someone do it, and they made all new ones

regal swan
#

to fix this

#

ngl, if a video tutorial tells you to delete or edit default parameters, you should look another tutorial

grim plinth
#

i am a really bad judge of what is correct or incorrect especially if im new to it :c

regal swan
#

you should never delete default parameters, and not edit them unless you know how that is gonna affect it [as it can break the tracking completly liks your current case]

#

do not worry

#

at least, this is an easy fix

grim plinth
#

oh good

#

i was worried i had to restart

regal swan
#

what you are gonna do
is to click on the menu of live2D
click on
New > model

and you will have now an empty new file

#

you will click edit on the angle X parameter
and you will copy
name, ID, min,default,max

and you will paste it on your angle X

#

basicaly we are editing the information of the default so yours, so it can be read as if it was the original

#

you do that with all default parameters [the only default parameters that does not matter are hair ones]

grim plinth
#

so only angle x y z ?

regal swan
#

all default parameters

#

default = all the parameters that get created on the new file you just made]

grim plinth
#

ooo okie

#

give me a sec

#

okie done

#

now whut

regal swan
#

now save, reexport and now vts should be able to found your tracking

grim plinth
#

lemme see!

#

btw thank you so much for taking the time to help me

#

i genuinely wouldnt have been able to figure this out on my own

regal swan
#

thanks to you for the patience, and dont worry to ask anything you need

grim plinth
#

i followed ur twitter and subbed to your youtube

regal swan
#

ohh thanks, you are really kind!

grim plinth
#

shes still not moving :c

#

cam is tracking eyes and mouth but nothing else

#

i think i messed up somewhere else, i have no clue tho

regal swan
#

did you clicked autoset again?

#

as because you already opened the model probably had still the vts settings broken

grim plinth
#

i reinput a new file

regal swan
#

did it asked to autoset when you opened it?

grim plinth
#

ye

#

i clicked auto set

regal swan
#

can you check if you have the physics at 50 ?

grim plinth
regal swan
#

in vts

grim plinth
#

oooo theres one in vts?

regal swan
#

on the icon of a person, where you can see the name of your model, there should be physics at 50, 60fps

grim plinth
regal swan
#

change to 60 fps

grim plinth
#

still cant move anything

regal swan
#

and check if below that there should be the parameters, check if for example face X, is moving

grim plinth
#

its moving a tiny bit on the in

regal swan
#

whats the max number the left red dot reach?

grim plinth
#

10

regal swan
#

ok, then change the 30 that is on the left, for 10

grim plinth
#

i can move body now

#

but not head

regal swan
#

wait.. can you take a picture of all that square? like not only the numbers but the full square

grim plinth
#

it seems my body is on face angles?

#

its moving my chest left and right

regal swan
#

ok, and you say when you edited this, the body started moving???

grim plinth
#

ye

#

:C

regal swan
#

that means you edited the parameters wrong lol, like you wrote the angle X info in the body X

grim plinth
#

would you like to call maybe? if your comfortable with that

#

im really confused Scream

#

i think i messed up my labeling in live 2d

regal swan
#

what looks that hapened is that, you wrote the information of angle X in body X

grim plinth
#

i have it set like this

regal swan
#

in the edit of the parameter

grim plinth
regal swan
#

not in physics

grim plinth
#

oh

regal swan
#

when you copied all the default parameters

#

you wrote the info of angle X in body X

grim plinth
regal swan
#

not the physics ones, the default ones

#

this ones

grim plinth
regal swan
#

what does angle X say?

grim plinth
regal swan
#

by your tutorial you followed, did you made any physics where you had

input > angle X
output > body x

#

?

grim plinth
#

oh gosh uh

#

i have no clue

#

i watched these

regal swan
#

ok, open physics

#

go to this part, and click on body x, on any random part of the line of the parameter

#

tell me if
a > the red dot stay where you clicked
b > the red dot goes back to middle after you clicked

grim plinth
#

it moves the hair

#

b

regal swan
#

ok, that means that you made a physics group where body is output

#

do the same test with angle X

grim plinth
#

oh wait

#

i did it opposite

#

so body x stays

#

angle x doesnt

#

sorry

regal swan
#

ah ok

#

you need to found the group where you have angle X and output and take it out of there

#

Default parameters should not be output of physics

grim plinth
regal swan
#

yeah, take it out

#

the reason is

grim plinth
#

do i replace it?

regal swan
#

what that group is for?

grim plinth
#

um

#

i dont remember LOL

#

I HAVE SO MANY

regal swan
#

default parameters are tracking parameters, so they should not be output of physics
because physics will cancel tracking

grim plinth
#

how can i tell what it is for

regal swan
#

ok, swap them

grim plinth
#

ah angle physics?

regal swan
#

make the angle X = input
the angle X physic = output

grim plinth
#

okiii

#

i switched it, but now her head wont go up or down

#

does that have to do with the scale?

regal swan
#

X = left right
Y= up down
Z = tilt left to right

grim plinth
#

it did!

#

it was the output

regal swan
#

be careful with the fact that you are editing X and you said it should move up-down

#

up-down is Y not X

grim plinth
#

i meant y

#

sorry i mix the two, im kinda slow

regal swan
#

dw

grim plinth
#

its so many letters

regal swan
#

you get used to it after some practice, dont worry

grim plinth
#

This is my first try

#

very scary

#

i am an illustrator, and i offered to do a model for a friend for free, and they couldnt afford the rigging so i said i would do it for them

regal swan
#

i did this draw when i was starting to help me visualize things when i was confused about the xyz

grim plinth
#

thats very helpful

#

so do u think its safe to try it in vtube studio?

regal swan
#

try it, it should work now, if not we will check again dw

grim plinth
#

thank you for being patient with me

regal swan
#

when you start things is normal to get issues like this, but everything can be fixed

grim plinth
#

im glad i at least did all the pretty flowy stuff right :3

#

that was tricky

#

im sorry if i got infurating at points, i get really confused

regal swan
#

ahh, its fine, i had been there too

#

you be free to ask as many times as you need

grim plinth
#

i have to do a second model after this and will most likely mess up again

regal swan
#

if that happends you can ask here again, or even tag me if you want, i am most of the time rigging so it looks like i live in the server

grim plinth
#

thats so kind of u

#

thank you for being so helpful :c

#

opening up vtube studio

#

it moves!!!

#

the x is not as strong as i would like tho, can i edit that in vtube studio?

#

or the z i mean

#

actually, ill go and change the output inside live 2d , its probably too low overall

regal swan
#

yeah the same way we edited in vts before you can do that to all parameters

grim plinth
#

OMG

regal swan
#

that is what we call calibrating

grim plinth
#

IT WORKS

#

OMG

#

ur from heaven

#

THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

regal swan
#

❤️ i am glad is working now! i hope you friends likes your model a lot, is really pretty

grim plinth
#

Thank you Crymoji

#

proof of ur good help!!!

regal swan
#

thanks hina! also that so cute, you did really well with the model

grim plinth
#

thank you so much ❤️
