#How do I prevent Add Point Tool from splitting into two vertices when editing two artmeshes?

I think it might be breaking that way because the two meshes are in different places in the deformer hierarchy

solemn vale
#

Ahhhhh. I can try moving them to the same warp deformer to edit the mesh and then move it back. Unless that would break it again

#

also thank you for the quick response!

onyx flax
#

that shouldnt break it but save before doing so just in case o7

solemn vale
#

It still does it :<

are those pieces originaly on the same place? if so you can change display to second option

solemn vale
#

I'm not quite sure I understand the question. They are the same part and general parent warp deformer

Kibu is asking if you're editing the mesh while the layers are in the same exact place they are in the PSD originally or if you changed the placement

solemn vale
#

OH, that is very specific, wow! I moved the pieces, they are in a new location and new, different art than the original

strong tide
#

but the question is
originaly
are they on the same place?

solemn vale
#

No

#

It's a second PSD

strong tide
#

a second psd?

solemn vale
#

Yup! Opened, and then copied and pasted into this model

strong tide
#

but.. the question is not about if theyare in the same psd or not

#

if you imagine the canvas a a paper
are those two layers on the same place in that paper

#

usually they are as they are draw one on top the other

#

usually

#

because if thats the case then you can do the mesh with second option of display and it will ignore any deformer parent

solemn vale
#

Ahhhh I get it, yes they are

strong tide
#

ok then on the mesh editor

#

on the top left of your canvas you should see display

#

change that to the second option

#

this will make everything disapear but the selected objects

#

try to make the mesh there

solemn vale
#

Interestingly, it made the selected object disappear

strong tide
#

zoom out

#

[ngl i got pretty scared with the mouth parameters <_<]

#

zoom out to see if they are around

#

can i ask what the change you did betwen the first and second psd?

solemn vale
#

Oh wow okay it moved up in the very top left corner, it's tiny

#

I copied parameters from another model

#

The mouth parameters and deformers

strong tide
#

the fact the layers appeared on top courner that means the canvas of the psd is pretty small

solemn vale
#

But for whatever reason, glue doesn't come over

strong tide
#

[probably you didnt selected the glue layer]

solemn vale
#

It is in comparison to the model yes

strong tide
#

when you copy a piece that has glue you need to select the piece AND the glue

solemn vale
#

Oh huh, I didn't realize it was a layer that had to be selected

#

AHHH

#

Two for one!

#

Thank you for your help and patience, I really appreciate it

strong tide
#

everytime you create glue you can see there is a "glue" layer created

solemn vale
#

the little yellow tab

strong tide
#

mmm no

#

i mean yeah but

#

i mean here for example you see there is a "Glue" layer

solemn vale
#

Is that a setting I have to turn on?

strong tide
#

what?

solemn vale
#

Because the top lip is already glued, and I can't see a layer like that in the heirarchy

strong tide
#

if you click the orange tag it should select you the glue layer

#

try to double click the yellow tag, it should select you the glue layer, because if there is no glue layer then tehre is no glue

solemn vale
#

Hmmm nope,

strong tide
#

you are looking "Deform" tab

#

not the Part Tab

solemn vale
#

omg

#

I don't have part window open at all

#

There it is! Thank you

strong tide
#

yw

solemn vale
#

Wow you were right! Switching it to Show Model Image fixed teh weird split vertices problem! Thanks again :3

#

It means I can also auto connect, what a life saver
