This is my first time drawing a vtuber model and I know for the psd the tail needs to be drawn straight so that it can naturally curve to the left and the right but I'm wanting the tail to look like the image once its rigged, mostly straight but flopped over at the tip. I don't know how to check that my drawing of a tail when its straight will look like my image once its rigged. (like if certain parts are thick enough or it needs to taper off more ect)

Do you guys know how I could check because trying to do it with the liquify tool in csp is not working. Or do you think this kind of tail might be better if its drawn curvy like the image but have the tip of the tail where it curves on another layer?

Thanks!! ^u^

yep,i think a good way would be
layer 1 -> tail color
layer 2 -> tail end
layer 3 -> slightly bigger shape than tail color, filled in a dark color, will act as the lineart for it
so that the end piece and warp back and forth, while the lineart for the bigger piece doesnt show up when not needed, and shows up when the end flips to the other side (if you're thinking of that kind of wagging to some extent. though you could use if for bigger movement too, but if you're thinking of the classical wag, then just bending it would work fine too

if something doesn't make sense pls tell

also if theres any typos- sorry for that, typing on a rlly small phone isnt very easy

Thank you! Just to make sure I understand, there should only be one line art layer for both of the pieces? Or both of the two tail layers should get its own dark blob line art layer?

i think the back piece can live with being lineart and color in one layer, only the big/front piece would need the big blob acting as lineart

the green being in the middle so this kind of tail wag/movement would be easier

if thats what you wanna do
