#How do I rig two vtuber models in one?

I'm going to draw a model that has two color palletes and a few slight changes to each other. How should I go about cutting this model? This is the concept art for reference.

I thought of two options, but I don't know wich one is best or if either of them work at all.

the first would be to clip both color versions to the same base and just make a transition slider, although I fear this will make the model very heavy.

The second one would to just make a second model within the same PSD, but I would have to rig the model twice.

Here are some examples of the look I wish to achieve:

Tbh, I'm doing the clipping transition, it is heavy, very, but it's the most easiest approach I've known so far

if you were to make a second model, you don't have to re-rig it

#

just make a copy of the first rig and replace the PSD for the new colours

#

you only need to rerig parts that have different shapes if you rigged directly to the artmesh

#

if it's rigged using warp deformers you could potentially just drag the new object into the warp deformer

Yeah if that's the case then using clipping masks would be the best way
