#Problem with baking physics into model animation(s)

Hiya. Im having a really specific problem with a model im working on (specifically only for animation, I do not do Vtuber stuff but still like using L2D for its nice animation style). I posted this on reddit to no response so far so i wanna ask here too

I have a model with multiple moving accessories (example being shoulder pad things that have fluff on them that are supposed to move, long coattails that move as well). I have the parameters and physics tab set up as following: **input = body X, Y and Z, output = (shoulderpads) with one pendulum. ** (I have this for the hair too but the input is for the head movement only, and it works fine)

BUT whenever I go into the animation tab, add keyframes n whatnot then go to bake the physics into my model, all the keyframes disappear from what I animated on body xyz, removing all the physics that work perfectly fine in the physics window.

Im not great at explaining so if more details or screenshots are needed to help then pleeease lemme know thank you <:]

is your body xyz a physics output in any group?

lemme check

#

yes

#

i had a feeling that was going to be an issue auugh

#

so when you bake the physics it's probably overwriting

im not sure how to undo it without ruining my model stuff lmao

you need to key the body xyz inputs, try doing that

#

where? sorry im still kinda new to l2d (ive only done like...two kinda successful rigs very poorly)

#

or how?

supple osprey
#

in the animation, instead of making the keys for the body (which is a output), make the keys for it's input

#

or just unselect the group that the body is a output here

OHH ok one sec, playin around with that n seeing if it works

#

i..dont think its working? the second method at least with unchecking the boxes

supple osprey
#

did you try keying the input?

brisk swan
#

my input parameter doesnt have any keyforms (as in i didnt add any, only the parameters for the physics themselves have keyforms)

#

i have no idea what i did to make this work now that im looking at it

supple osprey
#

thats normal, even with no keyform you still create key in animations with them

brisk swan
#

wait how? i thought that wasnt possible

supple osprey
#

also by i say keying the input, i mean add keys in the animations with the input param

brisk swan
#

OHH THATS A THING? OK letm e try one second

#

thanks so mch for helping me augh

#

IT WORKS

#

oh my god you saved me from almost throwing away like 2 days of work

#

thank you so much, truly <:']
