@queen swan We know they plan for weapons and armor to scale and have racial appearances. The size of a greatsword wielded by a Renkai will not be the same as the size of the same greatsword wielded by a Dunir. Throw armor from your orc on your dwarf alt, and the appearance changes to that racial.

Flying mounts can also be earned through extremely rare egg drops. There are meant to never be more than 5-10 eggs active on a full server at a single time. So yes, very niche, very rare.
So the total you would see on a full developed server would never be more than 15-20 people with access to flying. Also remember that those egg drops have the same restrictions as the leader mounts. Like having to be launched from a Royal Stable, and a timer on use with lengthy cooldown.

While flying mounts are designed to be quite rare and exclusive to only a few people, gliding mounts will be more widely available to the general playerbase.
It was mentioned in peoples responses, but kind of as a side point. Just wanted to make sure you realized that gliding mounts are much more attainable :)

Gliding mount is a tier 2 mount, which will be achievable, unlike tier 3 which is full flying mount
The mount skins aren't actual mounts but once you get a gliding mount you can apply the skin over it

@woeful sinew Also another tip, as I know many people don't do it & stick with the weird (in my opinion) 1to9 default binding, bind your spells to A E R T F G C V and shift/ctrl modifier of these keys if needed rather than numbers. you can play much more ergonomically & with ease since your hand/wrist doesn't move at all to reach anything, only fingers. Then you can use 1 to 5 [with shift/ctrl modifiers etc] for actions that are less frequent π

That being said, depending on the profession you pick, it's possible you'll still need to level up just because you need access to certain high-level content. For example, we know that some recipe might drop from world bosses, or that some rarer gatherable might only show up in areas filled with high-level mobs

The siege itself has something like a 1 week or 2 week preparation process right? Which kinda makes sense, creates more reason for people to stay and fight, but could also argue that people that were trying to skedaddle on out with their raw mats would be good targets for the siege declarers or the defenders, Iβm more curious if you can still craft things using the materials in storage, such as to repair peopleβs gear and such.

@undone prairie Theoretically need a good weaponsmith - Need an artisan to repair equipment in general, and we know that the repairing is based on weapon tier (at least in terms of the mats needed for the repair) so I'd think theorizing about higher skill artisans handling the higher tier mats being safe.

Well for one, all artisan profession will have a mid point that you cannot advance more if you didnt chose that path, so yes you could find legendary stuff while exploring, but crafters and master crafters will gain perks points spread around the crafting profession getting the possibility to rearange stats on weapon or armor the way they chose to. So master crafter will be needed in the end game for custom gear for your character for even more power and stats management.

@tawny vale That was a very early concept video to showcase what they wanted to do during development. Some of those ideas have been removed (floaty mage bubble comes to mind) and graphics engines constantly have new updates and iterations. I maybe don't understand your feedback or complaint. The game will look better than the technology of 4 years ago is the answer you are looking for?

This assumes you have name reservation as part of your rewards. And you are the first person to reserve that name under the system. It has priority rankings based on tier also. The wiki articles I linked explain it all.

In the character creation you'll probably choose a server you want to start on and you'll type in your name. If that name is available, you'll reserve it. If it is taken, you'll need to choose a different server or change up your name.

Yes, if someone has taken John, you have the option of naming yourself John Doe. I won't bother Toast with this (event right now), but there have been statements that outline that exact scenario.

For reference, Alpha 1 will initially only have 5 of the 8 available base archetypes, and none of the secondary classes, plus only contain 20% of the game world

I think the lore article discusses the possibility/ potential of choosing to follow the corrupt gods, so I think it's certainly in consideration. I could be wrong and may have misunderstood.

A ton of bugs happen when they upgrade the Engine so they only do it if necessary. When they recently upgraded from UE 4.23 to 4.25 they had to fix bugs for weeks that occurred from upgrading the Engine.

We'll see, UE5 isn't a full engine as it only affects some facets, mostly visuals, so it's a bit simpler to go from UE4 to UE5 then it was to go from UE3 to UE4, but as Talents says, we'll see π

Nope
There will be a staggered release based on package type and tier later during the testing phases. Anyone without that particular perk in their package will wait for live release. While they could offer it in a less expensive package in the future, so far they have not done anything in line with that or any other perk so far. As testing phases close out, the package benefits/pricing may change, but odds are there will be other things added to make up for the change in perceived value.

@lavish gulch Just realized I may have read your intention wrong. You can upgrade packages later down the line. So if you like the current accessory and buy the $75 package now, and then decide to upgrade to the $375 package later, you only pay the difference between the two packages. (so $300). You get the cosmetics from the current package for that upgrade, not the ones from your previous months purchase. So you would keep Novembers accessory, but get say Dec's everything else, but the accessory. Once you own a package you can purchase individual cosmetics in the future at your tier or lower. (for example purposes)

Nope, they make them as needed for development. Once they have the base, they use it for other things. Make a KS cat model. We have various cat mobs in game. Make a brew bear model, various bears in game. They have a plan on what they want made when. People will just have to wait till they get around to whatever their particular anticipated skin is.
