All depends on what Intrepid ends up with. Sometimes companies limit it due to reporting functions and database management. Sure to be guidelines closer to actual guild name reservation.
When you die there is a timer during which people can rez you, if no one does by the time the timer ends then you'll be forced to go to one of the spawn points. I'm not sure if everyone can rez, I think it might only be Clerics ๐ค

Short answer is not playable, with package purchase I think you can still get into Alpha 2, definitely make an account if you haven't yet as they come with benefits later like free cosmetics and such.

I want to start this off by saying I'm very excited for this game . However I have a question that could be a deal breaker for me and my guild . How many currencies are you expecting in the game ? I hate it when games hide items behind multiple currencies to promote repeated play of that content. A perfect example of a game that I would've loved but ruined itself by doing this is blade and soul. There's a reason games have a main currency such as gold however games today have lost touch of that and have like 50+ currencies in them . I think a few is perfectly okay .

That's not true, when a node grows and swallows up another node nearby you're clearly in two zones at once

will likely be multiple. carpentry, and blacksmithing seem like obvious areas for caravan components, but we wont know for sure until we know what all components can be used.

I should have also mentioned animal husbandry since that was mentioned somewhat recently. So you can have mounts bred through animal husbandry applied as certificates towards the construction of caravans.
When people refer to "certificates" in the context of crafting things in this game, what does that mean exactly?
Mh, I'm not sure, certificates aren't really related to crafting. They're what you get from monster kills. So for example, say you kill a wolf, then you get a "wolf pelt certificate" that notes where you got it from. It's value will change depending on where you go to sell it. If you sell that certificate to an NPC in the same node then where you killed it, then it won't sell for much, but if you take the time to travel a fair bit away then it will sell for more.
The only other instance I can think of would be related to caravans. You can make your own caravans and they'll start off as "scrolls/schematics" not quite certificates but I could see some referring to them as such.

Holy smokes am I excited for this project! Totally spendt the last 3 days drooling over everything I can find, and as such I have a few questions:
1: With there being such a vast amount of cool and new classes, will there be any way to switch classes partway, or try out different classes?
I feel like I might start the game with a very specific RP in mind, but later on wish to branch out to something else.
2: When it comes to crafting, there is obviously the limitation on mastery to combat omnimastery of crafting disciplines. The question from question 1 persists, will there be a way to swap around your high profession skill if you find that you change your mind about your crafting main?
I've been a bit scared about how finite and unchangable some aspects in this ever-changing world seem, and am a bit scared that I'll lock myself into something, grow tired of it and as such burn out from the game permanently.

You won't be able to change your starting archetype. At character creation you make one of the 8 primary archerypes, then at lvl 25 you will be able to pick a secondary to form your final class. That secondary can be switched through a quest, so you can't change on the fly mid-dungeon, but you'll have access to 8 classes on 1 character basically.

We don't know yet if you will be able to change your profession mastery, currently you can only become a master in 1 of the 3 branches of artisanship (gathering, processing OR crafting), and then within that branch you can master multiple paths (tho not all).
You'll be able to make alts tho if it turns out a specific archetype or profession ends up not being what you hoped ๐

@misty hemlock A2 access is permanent once it starts until A2 ends, The sub time that comes with the packs doesn't start counting until the game goes live (The A2 servers eventually become the PTR)
How are quests going to work in this game? Are they going to be procedurally generated? Go here to kill X and collect Y?
I donโt see any other way to do this with 103 different nodes...
Some will be quests given in towns from npcs some in taverns or towns from players and some will be generated in the wild as you are running around

Some quests like "Steal a book from the scholars academy in the opposing node" might have a procedural element of say the book spawns in the same spot in the racial architectural building for the scholars academy no matter which node it's in.

Group one does 60% damage. They get 60% of the exp shared among their group. Whoever "tags" first has a modifier.

Many of the developers use macro mouses. Steven is more old school. What is exactly allowed will be spelled out in the TOS. <speculation> if they are advanced macros that give advantage, probably going to be a no.

Dwarves and Humans are currently the only races that we've seen in game, and I don't think we have concept that compares the height between all the races. You can see the difference between human and dwarf in most of the dev footage as Toast plays a dwarf in them

i think the races have a minimum height and a maximum height that you can set probably with a slider of some kind by looking at some concept art as they are different heights

Expounding/Example/Explanation: In pen and paper games, most of the martial classes (fighter, rogue) don't utilize magic but claim physical prowess or ages of practice allow them to do what they do and to do it well. In Guild Wars 2, the martial classes were all imbued with magic and, even though their resource was named differently (stamina, endurance, etc.), the flavor text, animations, and lore behind most of the actions/skills suggested that magic was in everything and that there were no real non-magic types involved. Does active PvP give XP to a node?
The node tracks many things, they have not given us a list of all things that give it. I can say in the tests that I participated in I saw no exp gain from pvp kills. Others may have a different experience. I wasn't really looking for that.
Node advancement happens through citizen and non-citizen activity. The examples given so far have been questing, gathering and raiding. The assumption was that anything that granted XP would contribute but that hasn't been confirmed afaik. There was a very old interview that seemed to indicate that you would gain XP from PvP but as Unknown said the early testing hasn't shown that so that may not be the case.
TLDR: We don't have confirmation one way or the other

@unreal zealot i dont think alpha and beta maps will be actual game maps, so that kinda answers the question. I coudl be wrong.
They are keeping that info close. Could be what is seen in the testing is changed, could be the same. The world map used in later testing will be the world map, but they could choose to change node type locations at their whim. They have a plan, they just are not telling us yet or ever.

we dont know what shape the sacrifice might be, maybe it takes 10% of your outgoing dps or somthing we just dont know yet
@ancient pivot think of it this way. if you add a combat pet you sacrifice 10% damage, but the combat pet does 10% damage. its meant to balance out so that your relative power level ends up the same its just in a different form with the pet versus someone who didn't use one.

the pet can easilly have other skills tho that will also probably make them more viable for certain classes
like for melee an pet that can attack at range will be more valuable maybe
correct, my example is just for illustration purposes we don't know what the sacrifice vs benefit will be, just that its meant to be roughly balanced and not be a straight power gain by having one.

in terms of animal husbandry i know we can sell mounts we breed but will we be able to sell pets?
As in the small cosmetic pets? No info on those yet or if they are part of the crafting system. We know they can be gained in game, just not the mechanic, whether it is under taming, or other system.
Combat pets and cosmetic pets use different slots. And may have different mechanics.

Got it. So the skin for mounts will only be applicable if you have aquired or animal husbandries the right "tier" for a mount. And mounts have different stats within those tiers that you would then have to take off, and reapply to that mount @simple ether

Is there an option to turn on a CD timer for abilities so you can see (in seconds) how soon it will be up. After looking at some videos it looks like the ability is grayed out and slowly turns to color the closer it is to coming off CD

I don't think the tavern games gonna have a gambling structure. Since it's illegal for game companies to encourage gambling in many countries, it'll be designed in some other fashion.

I was having some trouble finding info on this. Is there any word on the benefits to using action combat skills > tab targeting skills?
I was curious if there was a benefit (other than preference) to using action skills since I'd imagine the tab target abilities would land more consistently, which would provide higher damage output
Action skills would be used for aoe, movement and even some cc. some examples are mage's teleport, Tank's Shield might
Probably too situational to really say either would be more beneficial.

Action also might have Higher dmg all together or higher heals as they are harder to hit
this is all to be tested so nothing is 100% set in stone
but that is the direction they were leading
also you will still need to have at least 25% of the skills to be either action or tab targeting too it seems

quick question regarding the matter of bot farms and how you will deal with them as they have been kind of intrusive to my enjoyment in past mmos.\

they mentioned a full time gm staff in game along with systems running to track accounts and flag them getting items they shouldent or trading with known botters / rmt people so assume they'll have systems in place to review botting flagged accounts

Oh yeah, will there actually be active GMs in the game? Also, in alot of games, you see quests that require you to kill 100 mobs, but when you finally find the mobs you need to kill, other people are there, and it takes forever to get the quest done. Also with repeatable quest, it can take forever. Will there be any mechanics in place, to boost spawn rate of mobs or locations then?
That will likely fall under the world management system, which we know very little about. I'm sure it will be something that will be looked at during the testing phases @clever quartz

Regarding Apartments, yes they will be instanced. But that is referring to the housing system.

My understanding is that you'll be able to stay unflagged for PVP and it won't really be worth it to kill you for your farm spot if you're unflagged. That being said, you probably won't get the same benefits you'd get while flagged (this second part is speculation on my part)

Also the auction house works slightly differently to normal. Yes you can buy items remotely but you'll need to travel to the node you bought it from in order to collect the item you bought
