Can a nodes theme change when leveling if a lot of players from a different race contribute more xp to the node?

What benefits does a divine node offer up compared to the other three? It seems there’s the least know about it and aside from rp, it doesn’t seem compelling enough to warrant a metropolis node. Has balancing between the four types been explained at all?

No, They said you can get rare drops (eggs of flying mounts) which have time limit attached to them.
if you have high enough stats in raising your baby flying mount you can have it forever
so in time there will be more than 20

You can only really master 1 skill but does that include gathering skills or just the crafting/processing ones? Example could you both master blacksmithing and be able to mine the max tier ore? I assume no but I would like to double check.

@jokery the way I understand the profession system is that you will only be able to max out 1 profession, so with gathering you could have maxxed mining but that would lock you out from maxxing lumberjack
@ivory latch I’m pretty sure you can only master one profession total, not one category. It wouldn’t make sense because processing only has two professions while crafting has like 7

In the june dev update on youtube steven says that legendary mounts that grant flying will have a lifespan, but most ground mounts will be permanant

Hi, I wanted to ask whether or not you could hit other players with AoEs accidentally. Like could somebody stalk you and wait for you to cast an AoE so he can get hit and kill you without gaining corruption?

Will the environment lighting eventually react to particle affects and dynamic lights? In the latest video the environment didn't glow with spells cast etc. Its probably obvious because it's in development and there will be constant iterations. Just thought I'd ask

Corruption only goes to the one that did the last hit tho right?
If a combatant player kills a non-combatant player, they will be flagged as corrupt.
okay, so if I'm a pve-player, I can not start a fight by accident but I could still get attacked and killed, in which case the person that killed me would gain corruption.

Ummm I know "Guild" will be a big thing for this game so most likely there will be guild buffs + perks like guild shop. I was wondering if there will be an equivalent perks/buff for a solo player like for example being a Bounty hunter for a certain node I can get an almost similar buff that I can get from a "Guild". I know it sound weird for a lot of people but some likes to play solo.

it's not a game desinged around solo play and the bounty hunter system is completely separated from the guild system. You can be within a guild and be a bounty hunter.
There is no known buffs that would encourage being a solo-player though
If that's your plan, then don't expect to be rewarded for that decision. You probably won't get anything advantagous out of staying a solo player
@rich socket however, it's not even known what kind of "guild buffs" there will be, and if they only affect guild content or the players in their every day activities
@reef osprey I know that would be the answer for 100% of the current MMOs right now. But I was hoping that there will be in this game so it will be not just a dream MMO for 99% of the gamers but also for the 1% that wants to have a diverse system that can support/reward solo players. Base on the facts that I saw I can join Sieges as a Solo player thats already a good start from my dreams. I wanted to come and go as I like without joining a guild.
for most content combat wise other than leveling i assume you will need some friends for a party at least but theres nothing stopping you making your free hold and soloing your artisan tree and becoming a solo weaponsmith for example.
Does anybody know more about that "overenchanting" that Steven talked about in his interview with TimTheTatman? It sounded a lot like rng but I thought there wasn't gonna be any rng in crafting.
@rich socket My guess is that there won't be buffs for solo play, seeing as that would encourage players to stray from the multiplayer content that is the core of an MMO.

guilds and be leveled into 2 direction (size and better buffs for its members)
You could find 5-10 other solo players to join you in one of these guilds and put a maximum points into the improvement of the guild members.
You wouldn't have to interact with them, or do content with them, you'd merely be an alliance of solo players flying under the same tag

@unreal zealot I know that mate however my concern is "if there is a guild buff" that can increase your combat and loot. So for example a guild can give you +10% combat strength. It would be nice if I can get a buff that can atleast give me 5 to 7% combat strength without joining a guild. @limber girder I don't think it would stray a lot of people since there will be plannings and everything when doing sieges. Big guilds around the world will flock this game for sure and I'm 100% sure of that. That's why i'm on the 1% weird gamers who wants a solo gaming in an MMO. @reef osprey their name will still be attached to me. I don't like to have sigil or anything like that.

I have a question about kiting with ranged classes is the movement combat style like eso bc in that game you dont typically kite like tab target games you shoot an arrow and you run towards your enemy with while switching to a 2 hand which is what i dont like i like pure range so will there be some type of disengage or reverse jump to help rangers kite?

Here is a question. Can we gift alpha keys to someone? For instance in my inventory I have alpha one and an alpha two. Can I gift that Alpha two, or will it be required for me to play the Alpha 2. As in, the Alpha 1 key does not just open the door from that point to the rest. I know there is a system to gift the extra beta keys, so this was on my mind. Thanks!

@sinful mortar sea servers tend to be toxic and has a lot of griefers. I like to play when there is less population in game so NA server fits the bill

How are action bars/abilities going to work? Is it like we'll have a loadout that we can't change in combat and we customize out of combat, or will we have more action bars?
You'll be able to build your characters active skills and place them how you want in the action bar. You'll also be able to include multiple hotbars/action bars. You must also chose the skills you want as you level up, so it seems that it will be very customizable.
However, I don't see anything about being able to change it in combat, so I'm not sure if it will only be out of combat.
OK so we have access to everything at all times, but what we use will likely be determined by what we put skill points into

I asked because I really liked the way Wildstar did theirs, where you have limited action bar space and you can only bring a set number of abilities to any combat. That way you changed things on the fly in order to customize for the fight

@late vale In most games with a trinity like Magic, Range and Melee, Armor is weak against Magic but effective against range, cloth being good against magic, but not melee, etc. OSRS for example has a very similar system to that.

@old ermine One can see how dependent you have become in game like WoW. Up to the point were you can´t play the game without it so hearing that such a thing dosen´t become part of this game is nice to hear ^^.
@earnest hatch I think the best reasoning I heard was from Steven, when he said that the min maxing that addons and DPS meters allows for just makes things really exclusive. While people use it to help improve, it just as easily becomes a tool to exclude people from raids/dungeons. I've only played games that had DPS meters or allowed addons, so I'm interested in how the game will play at high levels without that dynamic

Depends on their corruption level @crystal beacon if they have corruption they have a higher chance of dropping stuff. If you have none, then it will be just a chance for gathered items

They have always said there is "limited fast travel", and it is. There are teleporters scientific nodes can build that lets you teleport to the nodes under its control; and there there are family summons. Two forms of fast travel
teleportation from nodes that are maintained and actualy progressed to that stage are WAY difrent than free all access family teleportation.

pre-alpha 1 has not happened for the August testing yet, not sure what classes were available in prior tests i wasn't really able to participate but they've said 5/8 primary classes should be in the alpha 1 so i would assume those 5 classes
Do we happen to know if there will be unique quests in the world that may only be unlocked through certain conditions and once completed, will dissappear permanently? Would be really interesting to have to players randomly stumble upon a unique quest, or once they complete certain conditions like slaying X amount of some mobs, it gets unlocked for them and they can be the first to do it and get some special title or item in regards to that quest.

Hey team, question about the artisan classes, I know you can only master one of the three trees, but does that mean with enough time you could master multiple professions in those trees?

That will also make it the least profitable though, they will need things from the other classes so the supply/demand in the game will encourage people to do different professions

it is highly possible that proffesions will be oversaturated. You should expect that. People will take either easy ones or cooler ones like Animal H. That's why guild diversity will be important. You might only need a couple master crafters in the guild that you will invest in, a couple of processing too
but they will be valuable
you can dabble into the other professions in a basic way
but you won't make anything valueable out of it
since everybody can just do that himself

I am aware about the statement "a PC built within the last 4 years is going to be enough", but has it ever been stated exactly what the maximum amount of CPU cores or threads AoC will be able to utilize? For my next PC I'd like to buy the best CPU available with that amount of cores, in order to maximise performance (buying one with more cores than needed but subsequently lower per-core juice would undermine overall performance)

Is there a "Skill-tree" for the classes somewhere?
To look at the skills and what they do etc...
There's some skills posted on the wiki, but it's not all of them by any means.

I know, will definitely use at least 4 cores (also taking into account their recommended hardware pointing at a 4 cores 8 threads CPU), I'd just like to know the maximum amount of cores the game will be able to take advantage of... 8? 10? 12? 16? Depending on this number, the best CPU you can possibly buy for it changes.

Everything will be reset upon launch besides the head start
so have they said if "mastering gathering" would just lead to procs for more items to be gathered / rarer items to spawn or is it gona be needed to get some materials like they wont be possible without master?

The launch servers will be different from the Alpha/Beta server.
The Alpha/Beta server will remain as a test-server.
Whether we lose temporary access to it or its wiped, we don't know

@empty dragon They will change your class and add new stuff to it. From more unique skills, to altered gameplay all together depending on the combination. Summoner to Necromancer for example will change your spells to undead summons. Here is a class list of them so you can get a better understanding.

doesn't even have to be through an ID. You can easily read out of the logs if someone isn't a real player. (No interaction with others, sole purpose is to farm for another account, transfers all his obtained stuff to another account, always logs in at the same time as the other account etc.)

Because I keep look at some of the older dungeon livestreams, and I'd be sad if we just had one dungeon at the very end of it. It'd be awesome if there's some that are like gatekeepers, and players would need to kill it before accessing the latter areas of the dungeon

exactly, honestly I really hope steven keeps the human gm to monitor all that type of stuff + rmt'ing logs. Like for instance I as a player see this guy multiboxing(or the legit way of doing it with multi-pc with 10 char on follow), I report him. I want a human gm to check what I reported. This would be an instant ban for all those 10 accounts(150$ right down the drain for that person and this would not make it worth for him to do this). Same thing with RMT. With the proper human infrastructure, when you make something not worth doing, the ratio of people attempting to do it will significantly drop.

yes on the wiki they explain it with the fighter and mage, if your primary is a fighter you have rush/charge ability, by going with mage, the charge/rush becomes instant and blinks on the target(augments the charge with the blink part). @wild marsh

so you don't gain more skills @wild marsh it morphs your own primary abilities based on your secondary, which means all the different fighters abilities will be different to an extent based on which secondary you took

@main raptor the wiki says that fishing will be an active thing (no afk fishing) and it has been stated in other things that mob spawns as well as resources can be monopolized/contested so id assume same goes for fishing

well based on what I know they seem to take the @main raptor AA path for a lot of pvp aspects so I'd assume fishing would be similar and you could kill and steal their fishes but someone who knows more about it would be able to say

I'm hoping steven is taking inspiration from aa sports fishing before they ruined it. It was basically like fighting a pokemon battle for every fish and fish could make lots of money and thus prompted alot of player conflict and community content

@blazing orchid @idle siren I would love to know how you intend to balance the difference in power between turn based and action combat? The logical choice would be to use a risk/reward system where action combat more risky but more powerful to compensate if you have perfect targeting, but this causes the high end metagame to highly favor action combat.
Generally the project looks amazing, but as a long time MMO player and fellow game designer i can understand the scope of the ecosystem you are building ❤️

the only thing that scares me from a point of view of graphics is that I hope they don't keep the same textures but again we're so far away from release there's good chances they make it look a loooot better. So I'm just waiting to see how it changes.
and just looking at the game from 1 year ago to now, it has already improved tremendously so if we see the same leap in another year
