@full scroll They have talked in the past about having a kind of instanced area for that, but it is a "future goal" and not part of the regular development. So......maybe. They all about no scope creep.
There is underrealm on the alpha island that we tested. Was not a node. Very well may be underrealm nodes in A1 proper testing. Unknown.

5 is all we know in the next test. The three we have already seen are a given. They have not said what the other two are yet. The idea is to have all 8 for the actual A1.

Currently 3. One human, one elf, and one dwarf. No confirmation on others being added yet. But the idea for them is to have all 9 eventually available in A1

Morning guys, got a question: If I am a citizen of metropolis, will I have an access to vassal nodes features? F.e. Metropolis is militaristic node, and itโs has a lvl 4 economic node as a vassal. As a citizen of metropolis, will I be able to access economic nodes features? And If I my friend is a citizen of that economic node, will he have access to militaristic node features?
@jolly salmon i might be wrong, but it'll be able to construct buildings that are exclusive to those nodes, so Metro nodes will be able to construct buildings that are exclusive to its vassal nodes.
@jolly salmon features and perks from mother nodes are handed to vassal nodes. (Like the regional auction/market place for economic nodes and the teleportation for scientific metropolises) - this should be the same for divine and military nodes
we don't have any info whether it's the other way around, but i suspect not

The seasons will give players various buffs/debuffs so I wouldn't be shocked if weather had something in a similar vein but smaller. But as far as I know no actual word of god on it yet
Ashes will have 4 seasons, which will affect enviroment, which will open/close pathways etc.
If snow makes you slower to walk in etc, those kinds of details are unknown
ya that comes in other MMO's too example riders of icarus it snows the whole city including road but snow doesnt affect characters

I imagine the dragon will look a fair bit cooler in the end. So bosses like the right aren't out of the realm of possibility. Of course that picture is crazy with environment effects and floating particles which probably won't just be there permanently but might be boss mechanics or something

citizinship is based on if you own a residence in the node, max citizenship depends on how many apartment buildings the mayors build ect

@burnt nymph the grafic you saw is just some default stuff to test the game in alpha there will be a big change in grafics and animations when the game is done
@burnt nymph Most of the graphical things are probably just unoptimized and made to look "decent", since that's not the main objective right now. I bet it will look better in terms of graphics and animations later.

Does anyone know what sort of range/number of abilities we can expect a character to have? So far I've only seen the one 1->0 action bar and a smaller one for mount abilities with Shift 1->4. My main experience has been with WoW having 5 action bars full of keybound things

Hello, question, Falconer (ranger+summoner) i am kinda thinking to play him, do you think that augments will change bow skills and instead of them you will have Falcon, that will atack or attack with you? I love that class in Ragnarok Online.
you should still use bows primarily with a falcon support, at least that's how i imagine the class

AOE is different
AOE is a flag you as a player set to determine if it will affect dmg to other players for PvP or not
By default it is off
Meaning your AOE will not flag for PvP
To attack other player u have to for example hold ctrl button
@crystal beacon by attacking a non-combatant you flag yourself as a combatant, BUT you won't have people randomly walking into your attacks causing you to flag. You will have to press a button to force yourself to attack them. @oak depot the AOE toggle is only against flagged players to auto flag yourself

Well, its not super clear, because it says if a combatant player KILLS a non-combatant player they become corrupted, so i assumed non-combatant wouldnt change stat until they KILLED like the combatant

There won't be zones, so there's going to be mobs of all levels in every part of the world. If the mob makes sense in that area, it will more than likely be there, versus having mobs of one level per zone

Steven touched on the AH on the last livestream i believe. The basic premis was that each node had its own localized AH, however higher tier nodes would share with lower tier nodes around it to be one larger AH
Those high tier nodes being Economic, i believe, not all of them will have that style of AH, not 100% sure

That would be like having a puesdo faction system, and thats not something ashes will have. Players should be able to decide who there freinds are and who theire friends arent. SO if you see someone taking the resources feel free to go out and kill him if you want the resources. @pearl lynx Mounts come in 3 tiers, tier 1 = ground mounts, tiers 2 = gliding/swiming mounts and tier 3 = royal mounts (aka flying/pvp). Only the tier 3 mounts are not permanant, everything else you will keep forever. Mounts can die however, but you can rez them after a certain amount of time (some items will help you rez mounts faster)

Technically they are not permenant, the Nobility mounts are available for use for players with the Nobility Status gained from things like being a king or queen (this alows them to use flying mounts)... we can make the assumption that when the Nobilit Status is lost they lose the ability to use flying mounts.
gankfest is already established through caravan ganking though and to allow players from competing nodes to collect reaources to get to a metropolis faster than your node is already a faction based system hence why we get sieges

My question for yโall is has there been anything said about a class that revolves around a 2h spear type gameplay (similar to a dragoon in FFXIV). Iโve always liked the aesthetic. Iโve seen that spears are in the game but nothing about if a class is built around that.

@twilit gate Every archetype can use every weapon. Some will have a better time with specific type of weapons (like rangers with bow for example), but as for exemple a fighter, you could use any type of melee weapon. Lances and spears are a confirmed weapon type
no mounted combat, but if you want to impale someone with a lance, then you can do it
Well, kinda, the Royal mounts can be used in PvP but they are very rare and have their own pvp abilities

a lance is a weapon only used from horseback though, or is it called something different ingame

The term "lance" has been used in fantasy games to represent spear-like weapons that are not necessarly used on mounts for a while now

it could even be that nodes, that are close to a volcano tend to have more resources/enemies that lend themselves towards Fire resist
So fighting against character from there, a lot of fire resist and little fire damage might help you

That being said most archetypes will have passives that will make it so certain armor types are better for them, and a few might have skills they can only use with specific weapons (you can switch weapon around in combat tho), so Bards might have a few weapons that are more geared toward them. We don't know yet tho since nothing specific has been released on Bard skills

I think it would be cooler if abilities switched around depending on what you were wielding. Something like GW2

The way I understand it is as you level you gain points you can spend on any skill. You can rank up your own archetype skills, or spend them on some weapon skills, that way you can create your own builds
Each skill can have up to 3 ranks
ohh so like mages could lets say completely neglect their weapon skill to be more powerful in their abilities
so for exemple, you could rank up you bow skill like this;
The combat is still very much being worked on and nothing is final tho

I don't think so, pretty sure class augments are just for primary skills, but we don't have much detail on it atm so imight be wrong

@exotic berry no, obviously there's the corruption system but no you can't report someone for it.
corruption won't be a thing when dealing with caravans etc.

my tip is don't stream caravan runs if you want to be safe
it would be the same effect as having scouts out for caravans, will still take time for the rest of the guild to mobilize

@crystal beacon the mount skins are based on species. Have to unlock the species to use the mount skin.
Has there been any information on how mountains will function in the game? Will they be difficult terrain that requires resources and planning for players to cross? Will they function as impassable barriers? Or are they just going to be hills that our characters walk up with funny/glitched animations due to the angling?

I dont think they specifically have said you can ride the rhino but id say its definitely open to possibilities. The ram was used for the caravan and the rhino is a seige weapon (in that category)
