So basically as far as I understand herbalism allows you to gather resources through finding plants in the world and growing seeds in your freehold. If I am not mistaken, freeholds won't be available until the node reaches the village stage or town stage. This limits herbalism to only be progressed through gathering plants in the world. Is there a riskier way to progress herbalism like actually planting seeds in the open world, having the risk of other players attacking you and stealing your harvest?

The property acquisition in AA was quite frustrating because players could place multiple sized plots on limited spaces of land...thus depriving other players of being able to own land. I very much prefer the 1 freehold per account, and the size is standardized.
Do we know if we'll have access to profession as soon as we create our character or will we have to buy the first tools from the first merchants that arrive at nodes?

About cosmetics, I got the basic idea behind the shop and it was stated that cosmetics in the shop will be on par with Legendary stuff in game.
I'm curious about mid-game cosmetic options, Will we be able to obtain decorations in-game which do not require absolute endgame content to be cleared, but still appear somewhat cool?
In other words: how big will be difference between your casually obtained mid-end game cosmetic decoration from the absolute endgame / Legendary / Shop variants.
Tl;dr: will mid-game / casual decorations look like trash or will they still be cool?

@lean prawn We don't have a lot of info on mid-game cosmetics, but perhaps the thing I'd think of as being comparable are cosmetics that were available to unlock through APOC -> Armor of the Autumn Knight, Obsidian Armor, and the Emberstorm Dragon skin were all quite cool cosmetics earnable by progressing a good bit through the BR, but that was probably comparable to mid progression in the MMO in terms of time investment (Can see https://www.aocwiki.net/Ashes_of_Creation_Apocalypse#Ashes_of_Creation_Apocalypse_cosmetics if your curious)

@latent parcel Note that 'teleport' won't augment all abilities -> teleport augmenting a movement ability makes more sense than say a static aoe, a mage secondary might augment an earthquake with something like increased radius instead
I think teleport will augment ur movment skills. Not all your skills. That would be nuts if i can teleport a fireball

Hello everyone, i`m new here.
Just heard of AOC a couple of days ago, and im already deep into the rabbit hole. I love the idea and the potential of the game. Not sure if this is the correct channel to say this, but hopefully somebody important will see this and bring this to the attention of the higher ups. So I was watching the 4k gameplay, and could not ignore the fact that the characters look non-responsive. It felt like there was a lot of input lag. I know that this is Pre-Alpha, but i just want to make sure that they adress this, because clankyness is a big no-no. While reading the comments an animator responded to the video and he said exactly what Ive been saying for years.
Here`s the quote:
" I can tell why WoW feels so good and snappy... WoW has almost zero blending between animations. Idle goes to run by a button press instantly, you can tap "w" fast and see how your character does this switch between poses. In modern realistic looking games you have different blending techniques to make everything look more realistic, which makes button press less responsive because you have this small window of "inertia". I personally think gameplay is more important than good looking blending animations and would rather see unrealistic pose switching than graceful yet sloppy feeling hyperreal body mechanics."
I know they said that they already addressed the animations issues, but I just want to make sure that they are aware of a potential fix for this specific subject.

@latent parcel We don't have complete details on stats, and the ones that we have could change, but there were at least stats to increase dps (in various ways) and mana (max and regen) so far - Oh and you just get stats as you level, you don't spend them in the current design, so if you wanted to specialize in a stat it's through gear

There are seasons, and there are events that might change the biome (like a dragon summoing an eternal blizzard until it is killed)

I have two questions, if systems are being fleshed out right now and Intrepid already have a fair amount of ideas they want to flesh out then in that case I feel like making suggestions to the UI, story narrative lines and so on seem useless without letting them have a chance at developing it from a barebones point, should we still make suggestions?
My 2nd question is if it IS usless then what are some of the key suggestions would Devs be looking at right now? Like on the priority list

Going corrupt is an option if you feel the need to PK someone but they're not trying to incentivize it. Quite the opposite - they're trying to incentivize people to flag up purple for consensual PvP, with repeated PK and high corruption gain having negative consequences

If so won't it feel a bit shallow comparing to the structured and more linear questlines from single player RPG's or other MMOs?

the only major difference is 3 categories of artisans and

the only caveat, is that if you don't play on your regions server then you pay the price of the region you play on. This is particularly meaningful to regions like Brazil where a $15 US sub would be a substantial cost.

It is also highly unlikely they would have something like a threat meter, but they may have a color coded icon by a mobs name, though that hasn't been stated yet.
