Question regarding freeholds, say a group of friends and I want to open up a small one outside a town, say a tavern; how would one go about claiming a freehold outside a node, and how could/would it survive sieges on parent nodes?

I heard that baseclasses have special abilities (like rogues can find hidden doors or traps) to make classes more diverse. Do tanks get something like that too and what in the hell does "Keeper" do (tank/summoner), sounds super cool. I just want to be a super muscular dude, build a villa on snowy mountains and cut food/fish when the game comes out.

they want EVERYONE to have a good time, so there will be legendary skins that only ONE PLAYER OWNS in the game, but EXTREMELY hard to get
@rain bear Your freehold is fine until your node is successfully sieged. Then the siegers have 2 hours to knock it down. If they don't, it lasts a week longer, unless it falls under the ZoI of another level 3 node in that time, in which case you're good.

@grand wigeon The biggest weakness of a large group is that they are a large group. this game is too complicated to simply have a large amount of people, you need to be organized and unified

Just found out about this game today and I'm a bit overwhelmed with everything. I'm trying to formulate questions in my brain that isn't just "but can i do this?"
You can have at most 300 ppl in 1 guild, and 4 (i think?) guild in an alliance, so if you want a group that is bigger then 1200 people it needs to be something established outside the game

so it's technically possible for a whole server to agree to go under the banner of 1 guild..... but then your server doesn't have anyone to fight against and it becomes kinda boring :/

I know it was said there would be durability on gear....any idea the timetable for repairs? Once a day if play 4-6 hours....any penalty for dying?
lose xp on death lose mats and resrouces on death and if ur red u can drop gear as well

we do know the repairs will require mats so I imagine it won't be super low durability
would become annoying real fast if you needed to spend mats every couple of hours to repair your stuff... hopefully they find a nice balance

its turning on different pvp states, technically everyone is flagged for pvp at all times in the open world, unless they are in an alliance or something else that prevents combat

I believe you can set it to flag you if you attack someone instead of having to flag yourself.
i dunno if anyone will have this answer but, how will you handle bots messing things up? bots are a pain even in sub based games.

@hallow blaze You can own multiple accounts, that's not a problem. Steven has mentionned that he doesn't mind multiboxing if you're controlling all the accounts individually, but if you use macros/external programms to sync all of them then it becomes a problem

If i cant make my guy character as hot as the lady characters ill be upset.
Housing is a lot less permanent in this game, you might end up getting your house destroyed after a few months and be forced to relocate, so there won't be the same kind of.... gold rush that there was in FFXIV when they first released it

How much info is there for character creation and races? What many races are there even?
@tough sierra he said that the first group to tag a mob will do extra damage to it, and the total amount of damage done to a tagged mob from a group will be taken into account when distributing loot. Still need a lot more info to know how it will work specifically tho

Hey all, do we know if mayors will have the ability to poll and/or initiate votes for the nodes citizens? For instance, will mayors be able to ask the people what they want the tax rate to be or what tax revenue is spent on?

if the city falls, then the citizen will lose their citizenship and have to look for a new place to settle down

@simple ether how do you mean they are skins? once you unlock a mount all other mounts are technically just "skins" since they dont apply any other feature in regards to your traveling speed, technically all armor are just different looking skins after you get your first plate armor same for pets?

What if you're a beginner trying to kill a hard monster, and then A player comes and flags you to low health, and then the monster kills you? Does that bypass the attacker from being corrupted?

WRT cosmetics, do we know if various items will have different appearances by default, or if the appearance of your character is just tied to level/armor type, etc.? For example - will 2 different breast plates have 2 different appearances or will it just look like "breastplate"?

The packs don't contain anything that is trully unique to them other then the early alpha/beta access, you can get similar-looking skins in game, and they don't give any actual advantage to anyone

This is my understanding of the skill tree system, is it somewhat accurate? 1) you get a base class and allocate skill points in some kind of skill tree 2) at level 25 you get a secondary class and choose augments to those skills you've already selected. As far as I know there is no stat allocation tree, that just happens as you level based on your race/class?
I literally said that steven said that there is no p2w. What I mean is that in MMOs there is a visual progression aspect to the game as well. At the base level, any different looking item is just a different skin placed on the model of the playable character. Even if mounts or armors have different statistics, and you being able to earn different "skins" in the game by playing, the collection aspect and overall visual progression would seem to be undermined by decisions like selling titles and skins in a cash shop or in pre-orders. No other game has really succeeded in making a cash shop that worked without undermining this aspect of the game so I was just wondering how Intrepid was going to deal with this. But most answers seem to be "they're just skins" or "there is no P2W"

For a game studio that seems to pride themselves on old values of mmos like spending time to get those legendary armors, and only letting a few people have flying mounts as a reward for outstanding achivements such as owning a castle like it was back in L2, it seems to go against their own philosophy to release armors that are similar in quality when it comes to the visual aspect as someone who spent a lot of time grinding it out. As the statement in the AMA was that legendary items would be of comparable visual quality to the cash shop. "This is how MMOs are now" kind of goes against the philosophy that they spout when harkening back to those games in a lot of the promotional material they are releasing no?

If placed on a T3 mount the mount has flying and is huge, if placed on a T2, it is smaller and only glides. A T3 Summoner skins would be extremely situational. I have a question about sieges for the developers. Will node location play a factor in siege defense? For example would a node located in the mountains be easier to defend versus a node located in a flatter area? Also would a node located on the coast be attackable from land and water during the node sieges? Or will node sieges exist in a space separate from the world?

@drowsy hawk I can tell you that node sieges will not exist in a separate space. We heard today that they will try to keep nodes relatively equal in terms of defense, but landscape gives natural advantages that are unavoidable.
@drowsy hawk We dont know if that will affect the siege itself, however the terrian and strategic locations of a node will help or hinder its defense in larger scale wars, such as a node being up against a mountain will only have to defend from down the mountain, or a node that is on an island will be safer from land zergs but will be weak against ships blockading it.

Could anyone clarify the heirarchy of alliances? if 2 parent nodes are allied but a guild in each node declare a guild war, are they able to siege eachothers nodes?
may i know how many region servers are there and where they maybe located ?
Is there going to be an auction house or player made vendors or combination?

There will likely be multiple NA hubs, EU hubs are currently set for Germany, and OCE and SEA aren't set yet

@charred atlas both, however the auction houses wont teleport the goods to you. Also the auction houses will be regional unless a economic metropolis builds an auctionhouse, if they build one people can use the auction house to purchase goods from within the entire ZOI of the metro

How customizable is the UI? Can I move anything anywhere? or fixed positions with limited movement for actionbars?

@digital yacht so node politics supercede guild politics when it comes to node sieges? for in-game systems atleast. Also guild wars in general could have missions to destroy an enemies guild hall which would involve sieging a node correct?

@rich lion There are specific classes of items that do not get lost. Like furniture and others get mailed to you. But stockpiled resources and finished goods get sunk if a node is lost.
are pets and mounts Summons or do you need to bring them with you from the stables

Royal Mounts need to be brought from the Royal Stables

I'm curious about the corrupted mechanic, if I am corrupted and the town guard attack me, am I able to fight back? Are the town guard killable?

node sieges are essentially instanced, so it could be different

We have no idea on guard strength down the road. They currently have their AI for that turned off.

We also do not know how frequent housing taxes are.
It may be weekly/monthly for houses, but otherwise it's on purchases.

I want to know how AOC is going to handle BOTs? When I played Lineage 2 "where a lot of great parts have been put in this game" BOTs were a huge issue. You would find them everywhere. Taking up all the beat farming spots and clearing world bosses the second they popped up so they could sell the drips for real word money.

Will it detail castle regions or ZOIs? will it have economic zones and POI? will what our character has explored be shown and updated in real-time ( if a node that we had been to was destroyed but we havent been there since its destruction)
