Yeah it said naval content+expansive underwater environments. If it's post launch its cool, naval content is a niche for certain players anyway, while everyone will do above ground content

Do non-forced attacks thing also apply to combatant players

Way I took all the info is that a non combatant will only get hit if they are in a guild war
If you flag as non combatant then yeah your aoe will hit them
and how the reward is split between the people that defend my caravan, and how i select : you , you defend and you you can't ?
Yeah of course, but it is a really simple way to explain it to someone
So basically, a few people can say that they " defend " my caravan but finally it's a trap and they let people destroy it to get the loot ? and i get 0 people to protect it since they trapped me
Can you sign up to defend it, join a party with a group so they know where it is, or are caravans always visible on the map
Theoretically, yes, they could just decide to stand by and watch people destroy it... but then you wouldn't pay them
i dont remember if it was stated but, the caravan needs to follow a pre determined path or the horseman can choose wherever they want to go?
okay, but imagine the people defending and attacking are in the same guild : the people " defending " will choose to defend but won't do anything letting the people attacking take my loot and then after spliting it between everybody

I think there's node based currencies/leveling to incentivize people to not sign up for defensive and leave it alone

Village only allows raw/processed goods to be sold, town (level 4) unlocks full gear sales on the AH
Markets in Village level economic nodes have auction houses that allow raw resources and processed goods to be posted.

Have they gone into much detail on how exactly story will be presented? I've read about quest types on the wiki, but things like significant lore characters for instance. Or is the story telling mostly going to be just event driven with no real significant characters?
We are the first characters returning to the world, I don't think there are any major NPCs planned

@severe flame The caravan is going to be made by talking to an NPC, once you reach the settlement that you planned on going to, it will have likely broken down and profit as you have nothing to take back to the previous place yet

If you win, you get to loot the caravan for some of what it was transporting

So when u get into destination and sell your stuff and your caravan is empty, then there is no point for fighting over it π
You will be able to increase the hit points and other parts of a caravan which will make it harder for people attacking it

Yeah. It's a sort of camouflage/shimmer effect
We will have rogue class with 8x times of different augments, what do you think, stealth or no ? π
trueee, I dont know. Steven have so many modern thoughts, so we might get a more challenging approach to stealth istead of just hitting 1 skill and go full stealth
And some of the other classes will have access to stealths with Rogue augments as well

I've been watching the recent interviews between Steven and various streamers and I've got a few questions about pvp flagging. Firstly, If I throw out an air spell and someone walks into it, will I get flagged for pvp?

Eventually they will of course, but if you are one of the first people to get to the subclasses, it would be a bit of a ballache if you went in blind and it ends up being nothing what you thought it would be

When you become corrupted you show up on bounty hunters maps
Certificates is just a name for materials, like pelts, meat, whatever

The whole idea of Dungeons in this game sounds very reminiscent of Log Horizon to me. The way that beating bosses in certain ways or time periods affects the bosses further in :P

Can a guild/alliance be a wanted for like a corrupted player but on mass scale for a guild
how to castle vassle nodes work? could they become a metropolis?
I know that 300 is the guild cap, but is the a "minimum" for those small guild buffs? Like are there no benefits if a guild is smaller than say 50 players?
Since Rogues will have some utilities like pick locking will my augment to the rogue sometimes remove/Replace it ? Or am i completely wrong about classes and thier usefulness outside of combat
Guilds can declare a guild ware on each other @celest delta which allows the guilds to fight without the corruption.

regarding the artisna classes, There are 3 artisan classes right? and each artisan class have multiple professions
and out of all those, I can only master one?
In the wiki it states players will only be able to be a master of one of the three artisan classes. Does this mean you can master all of the professions under the parent tree? For example, if I master Processing I will be a master of Animal Husbandry and Smelting. If I want to master Gathering I can master Fishing, Herbalism, Lumberjacking, Mining and Taming.

@celest delta you can kill anyone at any time, its just whether or not they are flagged and whether or not you get corruption. Like all declarations you have work to do before you can declare so its not something you will do on the fly.

@rigid gate Secondaries augment the kit you have as your base, they dont replace or add anything.
But if there is a whole guild who flags and they are all apart of same guild can their be a bounty for the guild or just those players
how does black smithing differ with armor smithing and weapon smithing?
I thought weapon smithing and armor smithing would be under black smithing but in wiki, they're not

@tender siren The wiki tends to be built using direct quotes from the devs, it's possible the devs used 'black smithing' to refer to 'armor/weapon smiting' at some point and there may not be a difference but we just have both terms - They might also be different - We don't really have more details than what's on the wiki

So one of the greatest additions for Rpers has been the ability to create extended character profiles. Wow has it through addons (yes I know there won't be addons) and I think FFXIV had it by default, where you can expand with blurbs and more detail on your character. Does AoC have any plans to add this? I know one of the reasons people shrug off Gw2 as a home for rp is a lack of such a thing.

@winter parrot The shop 'levels' refer to the tier, so someone with a wayfarer pack can buy the 5$ accessory cosmetic every month, someone with a voyager+ pack can buy any of the individual cosmetics each month for 5-25$
(You can buy future cosmetics from your tier and lower individually)

They finished that month with a bit of room to spare, but were still allowing KS upgrades so things worked out with that.
Alpha 2 as of now for what we know will not have an NDA so most likely everyone will get an email on how to download the launcher in waves to ensure the account services system are not overloaded all at once. @crisp holly

Hey guys, I know a vassal node canβt declare war on its parent node or any other vassal node in its influence. However can a parent node declare war on a vassal? Part of why I was wondering this is due to say if members of a vassal node try to secretly hire mercenaries to siege the parent node and get caught doing it.. What sort of recourse would the parent node have against its treasonous vassal?

One way of interpreting that is possibly that Parent/vassal nodes share the same set of 'wars' which could mean they're treated as the same entity for purpose of declaring them, and a node couldn't declare war/siege itself --> pretty speculative interpretation of that language though
So if your guild made a military node and you were a bounty hunter. Then that node got wiped out and then we made a economic one. Will I still have bounty hunter ?

the game is balanced around 8 players, so that likely means that certain classes are not solo viable

so if you want to go solo gank, you gotta figure out what works in a 1v1 context.

Ike, i mean when you spawn , if there is no node how are you suppose to kill mobs and stuff ?
bro its an mmo, you will start with aspell or 2, some white rarity gear, go kill boars and do some missions for 1 hour until the node advances

a castle comes with 3 attached nodes that will max out at stage 3
@digital adder There's also a little introductory area around the divine gateway spawn points for some very basic services, like your first gathering tool

but it should happen later in the server history naturally
two metros cant be near each other as their zoi cant over lap - if they were to the second metro would be blocked
only one metro can be allowed in each zone of influence, and only 5 per the whole map.

no they dont, just the metros need to be perfectly seperated
i think you'll see 5 metros pretty quickly, as well as all 5 guild castles taken quite fast, at least the above ground ones

not sure on castles as you need to beat the npc to take it
the cycle for building a metro is "a couple weeks" where as taking it over is "once a month"
where the metros are citie states and the guilds have not unified 1+ metros
i dont think metros will be a think for a bit
so there will likely always be metros
because people will be trying out seiges
they will be the quickest thing
@crystal beacon "Castles" are fortresses that each roughly control 20% of the world and guilds are meant to fight over them - There are economic and prestigious benefits for doing so - Each of the castles have 3 special 'castle nodes' attached - They're always military nodes and max at level 3, Each week a different one of the castle nodes is sieged, the outcome of which affects the defense of the castle in the last week.
@crystal beacon metros cant be reseiged for 50 days
a super guild that gets a guild castle can just build a metro next to it if they are powerful enough

Bards a probably a class that's hard to get right,
so that its fun to play while being useful...?

im saying that metros are probably going to establish pretty quickly and likely stay up as long as people want them to be there.
bard how i see it is the buff class, while cleric is the healer
hards seem like the losers in terms of leveling

how long will it take to advance a node from level 0 to 5 with a decent number of people contributing?
am i right in thinking the mobs dont drop money? they drop loot you sell? or something else?

theyre using the tried and tested trio system so i imagine threat will work similarly

@wicked heath the ZoI could technically grow, if say there was a node that was formally outside of it's influence that had it's parent destroyed causing it to move under the influence of the metro
like things target second agro or least agro
i don't know, is there a cap of players per server? maybe 50 people contributing to a node
possibly, or randomly the boss starts targetting a different stat pool like healing or damage instead of threat
