In regards to all the castle info we just got. Do you know if castles will exist when we arrive on launch? Or will they be developed like a node? And how is sieging a castle going to differ from sieging a metro/city/town?

The castle nodes are independant of the other nodes in terms of ZOI. The castle controls the ZOI of those 3 nodes, nothing more, nothing less.
The castle however gets to impose other influence over its region, which includes 1/5 of the map.

@silent lantern so how I've had it explained to me by Jeff, it will be a system where you gain skill points the more to do a certain artisan skill, you can use those points to advance in their single artisan class or start advancing a specific thing. And these skills have a cap and once you reach them you can no longer advance anything else. So for example, you decide to focus specifically on weaponsmithing, then you specifically spec into being able to craft the best axes. By doing so you can no longer gain skills into learning how to craft armor, gathering, or processing. A finite pool of artisan skill points, so choose your path carefully.

@worthy wedge zerg requires appearing instant and do a lot of damage in small time. As you can see from the answer, it will not be possible without being noticed before arrival and give the defender some time. But if you are running at the mountains like Heidi and doesn't really care anything else and doesn't read the in game chat, you'll probably be smashed under their feet which also makes sense.

@worthy wedge guild wars 2 had teleports in each base, defending teams could just warp in perhaps defending teams could do the same here but ashes seems to go for more realistic no warps which would mean running or walking on foot from point to point and back caping would disrupt what the zerg is doing.

And how will that affect traveling to dungeons, farming spots, etc? I really dont wanna spend 50% of my game time on traveling. It simply wont work if the traveling takes too long and I already know tons of people who will agree with me on that.
The whole idea of trying to prevent 1 thing from happen (zerging) will screw a lot more people in the long run.
So the solution they came up with, that will eventually save a few % people from PVP zerg will screw a huge % of playerbase. IT is never a good solution. Theyaim to satisfy a minority while in the same time screwing up the majority.

Well just an opinion, u might can buy (or get from quests) scolls which can transport u to an dungeon, depending on the "level" of the scroll it will determine the group size it can transport.

Seems like the devs would have to have at least two consecutive weekends of BR testing before Siege Mode is given to A1 testers. So, Siege Mode seems unlikely to happen before Mar. Most likely no BR testing the weekend of the 15th since we haven't been given notice yet.
Steven is working on a Creative Directors Letter which he hopes to finish in the next couple of weeks - which should give us a bit more clarity on the test plans for Apoc.

A tavern - a lot like cantina in swg where you can have people performing to help buff fellow adventurers or just hang out and bs
Bard - a lot like doctors for buffs however s profession you get more songs and tales from exploring the world and doing cool feats/tales to unlock better buffs
Gypsy - dancers whichever that increasingly get better and help with buffs
Crafters - giving crafters the exclusive ability to make unique furniture for player housing or taverns could very much boost the role for casual players
Farmers - supply food for cooks and crops
Only saying this because I know a few casual player friends that wont play unless there is a draw. I am excited to play with new gamers and experience end game content as well as the pvp

Not sure if this is an appropriate place but the website reset password feature seems to not be working correctly. After receiving the email with the temporary password, I login and then it asks me to setup a new password. That form fails to submit, preventing me from setting a new password and accessing my account.
(I've tried on chrome and firefox on two separate computers, let me know if I can provide any more information or if there is a better place to report this)

Looking at the HTTP requests on the browser inspector, the connection just hangs waiting for a server response until it hits the 100000ms time limit that Cloudflare allows, and then responds with a 524 No Reason Phrase (https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/200171926-Error-524-A-timeout-occurred). So it looks like a backend problem.

Depends on whether the bot considers it a special character or not for here, and they have never clarified the special character restrictions for the game so far. Were you able to use the umlaute for account creation, always a good hint for future support.

They most likely will support the standard NA qwerty keyboard. While special characters and symbols from your particular culture and language may be desirable, it plays havoc with their messaging and other systems. Suddenly everyone who sends an email to Stuppenfuhrer, the umlaute guy gets one too with his items. Or people use the characters as a way to avoid people being able to report their name easily. The options as to why they won't outweigh the positive feels you might get. But again, no fixed clarification yet on naming conventions.

So yes, if you used a polar bear skin, you could have a polar bear drawing a carriage in the desert

Intrepid's development process involves various 'passes'.
This means they get every system to Step 1. Then go back to them and get them all to Step 2. Then go back to them all for Step 3.
All the way leading up to development
So all animations/visuals/textures in the BR are currently on their 'first pass'
Which means as development progresses, they will apply more passes to all these systems

It just confuses me that you can buy armour right now in the shop in the BR. This is what you would expect is the final outcome. Altering the appearance of this armour is the same as delivering another product, a product that was not bought.

A good example is outfits in the BR. When the BR closed NDA testing began, the armour was quite a gaudy placeholder
By the time December's open testing began, the Armor/Outfits had recieved a significant overhaul.
The appearance of the armour isnt altered, it is just tweaked, its animations adjusted, the textures cleaned up, the model (frame) optimized etc.
All of this is done to constantly raise the quality of the product/game

@royal ice its seems you are correct about it taking that long. I would think it would be a simple thing, just delete and add and then I can just purchase everything once I know my payment info wont go to the a bad email.

@mighty flower I suggested awhile ago they can run SQL Query on the databases to extract the info and place it into a new database. The issue would be how well the databases are and how many tables are within

@mighty flower I have waited since Dec 27 for the same issue although I did upgrade to BoW while waiting. Would be nice to have some communication from CS stating a timeline is in place for resolution.

@jovial dirge I don't want to take the risk of upgrading right now and my payment info or game info goes to a compromised email. I also don't want to miss the chance to upgrade before the option disappears and also I want to buy skins from last months cosmetics that are also going away soon.

@mighty flower I assume you changed your email and the old one is still showing up on the left hand side of your profile. If this is the case when I upgraded the confirmation email on my upgrade was sent to the new email. However I can also confirm that emails from IS are still being sent to the "old" email address so if you do feel truly compromised I would hold off.

KS upgrades will last awhile thr only thing I can tell u is that their cs team is small, that’s why toast is helping as much as she does, and u will get answered in due time
